Every stem from every manufacturer will have a 401 p/n. Ofrei lists the ebauch stem for the 6497/6498 as the one I listed...

For the green sapphire, I believe it was determined that the crown etch at 6:00 was the contributing cause for crystals breaking and hence was omitted. That's why the newer releases and early pieces with crystals replaced are sans etch All speaking in temrs of gen, of course...
To give you an idea of bezel/case assembly, this is what my Jimmyfzu looked like prior to install:
The lip that the bezel seats against is why the bezel cannot be pressed out from the inside.

I think his older PVD was probably more durable. I've had this case since May of 2006:
The finish has been thoroughly worked over with a cape cod to eliminate the chalky look. Still in good shape after 3 years...
Sometimes, you just gotta jump in and do it. Tutorials will help... But it's more of an instance where you have to have a feel for the mods you're doing. And a lot of it is learning as you go. I know I've made my fair share of mistakes... Lots of trial and error...
