  1. I certainly wouldn't mind having that watch... It looks nice and burly! Very cool design and I love the PloProf hands!
  2. Man... That's smokin hot. VERY nice, TMG! Beautiful...
  3. That looks a lot like Kenzo's Nautilus... Just with a different dial... Basically a Fricker built case, I think?
  4. ROFL. I have to say... This really made me chuckle...
  5. Euno- You know I love it! Beautiful frankie!
  6. I built this one for my Uncle around July of last year; I think it promptly shit the bed maybe 3 months after... Edit to add- My original post on this one is here: 116520 thin case Even then, I had forewarned that this thing was likely not to last. Still, I was expecting a little longer lifespan than just 3 months...
  7. Well, tap 6 does equate to 1.2mm, I believe...
  8. Tap 12?! Should be a tap 6, I think? Every stem from every manufacturer will have a 401 p/n. Ofrei lists the ebauch stem for the 6497/6498 as the one I listed...
  9. kronos- I have to agree- The 5980 has a stunning blue dial. No doubt one of my favorites...
  10. Lani, Beautiful pics! And a day well spent in tribute and respect... We spent the day at home... Quiet day, but it's days like this that I treasure most. I feel fortunate that we are able to enjoy days like this... There is much to be thankful for... Hope all have had a great Memorial Day weekend (here in the U.S.)... R
  11. Whoa- That's a stunner, FGD! You've got two phenominal vintage pieces there! Plus your Pre-V and Pre-A pieces...
  12. For the green sapphire, I believe it was determined that the crown etch at 6:00 was the contributing cause for crystals breaking and hence was omitted. That's why the newer releases and early pieces with crystals replaced are sans etch All speaking in temrs of gen, of course...
  13. To give you an idea of bezel/case assembly, this is what my Jimmyfzu looked like prior to install: The lip that the bezel seats against is why the bezel cannot be pressed out from the inside. Excellent advice from the zigmeister and avitt!
  14. Beautiful! That green sapphy is really something. Out of curiosity- Is your's without the etch at 6:00?
  15. Looks good to me! I have no idea what it looked like prior to your make over, but based on your description, I'm going to say it appears as though you've done a great job saving this one...

  17. I feel as though words are not enough to convey the gratitude and appreciation that I feel for those fighting for our freedom, and those fallen for our country. My heartfelt thanks... To those fighting for our liberties, and for their families...
  18. I think his older PVD was probably more durable. I've had this case since May of 2006: The finish has been thoroughly worked over with a cape cod to eliminate the chalky look. Still in good shape after 3 years...
  19. Sometimes, you just gotta jump in and do it. Tutorials will help... But it's more of an instance where you have to have a feel for the mods you're doing. And a lot of it is learning as you go. I know I've made my fair share of mistakes... Lots of trial and error...
  20. The gen links are a bit more substantial than rep links. A couple of pics of a gen 78360 with 580 ends and 93150 clasp: Worn away in some spots...
  21. Nice, Pre V! Hope to see some wrist shots of this beauty soon! Congrats!
  22. This one is a beaut! Very, very jealous!
