  1. DSN PVD and some more Cape Cod... Pics don't really reflect the true finish; it's more of a gun metal grey
  2. Well, the only way to get it out is to lift the release lever from under the dial; this is the only way since the back side of the movement/release button is inaccessible.
  3. Yeah... Been there, done that The old, long gone MBK Jumbo (15202)... And then moved on to a ROO (25721ST) also long gone... Great watches, no doubt...
  4. Thanks, guys! Heh... It's not that I have a lack of things to do... Always have things to do. However, in between waiting for parts, etc. things can sometimes lull. And, sometimes the same ol' gets monotonous. The Oyster case, for as beautiful as it is, has become rather standard to my eyes... PAMs... I like the early Historic Pre-As, and Pre-Vs, but there's only so many of those you can have... I'm fairly content in my inventory of gen parts and parts hunting without a purpose lately hasn't yielded the same excitement as when you have an actual project in mind. Maybe I'll take F333's advice and try the TZ course. Or...? Something to get me excited again... Definitely not going anywhere though... You guys can't get rid of me that easily
  5. The thing with the WM9 site is, you have to take all the technical claims (i.e. their certified watchmakers, etc. etc), and take it all with a grain of salt. Simply, let their pictures do the talking... And if the new YM is anything like the Z serial Sub, it stands to reason that it's likely going to be pretty good. I'm reserving final word for when I receive mine and have it in hand. But so far I like what I see.
  6. I've voted with my dollars; WM9 16622 is in my future (due for Dec delivery), but I certianly didn't pay $675 for mine! I'm eager to receive it... Especially after all the waiting and build up of the project. That's quite possibly one of the most intriguing aspects of this controversial dealer for me- Seeing the project take shape with progress pics as things develop. Comparison pics to show what's been done and what's been improved.
  7. Doesn't look right. The case clamps don't look as though they're secured under the lip, and are just sitting gainst the top of the lip. Most case clamps have a slight bend to them, which allow them to either angle into the case lip, or to apply additional pressure down to add extra leverage. Also... The movement spacer/ring should have some notches cut out to facilitate those case clamps...
  8. T'is very nice, but unfortunately wll not fit a rep 116520- The dial feet will not line up (of course), but a 7750's center hour/minute pinion will not fit the center hole either.
  9. Just dropped it in the trash compactor. Problem resolved.
  10. It's likely to be a while... Though I should be in L.A. right now as a matter of fact for a conference. I opted not to go... But who knows? Work may have me travelling to SoCal sooner or later down the road...
  11. Careful... We might take you up on that!
  12. Can't help with the part... But damn. Those dials are amazingly gorgeous! Very nice!!
  13. I'm bored Bored of Rolex (I've built all the ones I wanted already). I'm in between PAM projects. The V2 Blacksteel isn't out yet. Not much else seems to float my boat as of late. In short: Feeling uninspired. I thought we'd see a lot more interesting models out this year? Not that we haven't, but damn, my ADD is kicking in! And my hands are getting fidgety. I might have to go in and take apart one of my projects, sell all the parts only to rehunt them down to rebuild my watch again to keep me busy. What the chuck? Think we'll see anything new in the next few months to wrap up '08?? Errr... Scratch that. Think we'll see anything new and worthwhile to wrap up '08? Maybe I'll go and buy one of those Alain Silbersteins to tweak my brain out a bit... R P.S. Where's all the discussion been lately? Seems a little quiet in the General section?
  14. ET/Chris- You're taking the fun out of the modding If you perfect your watches from the start, what the heck am I supposed to build?!?!
  15. I love LOVVVVE Dirk straps!! I think it's mostly because they emulate the Pre-V's... I dunno what it is, but I've always fancied the Dirks! I'll check out the MP's... @Dani- Nice snapshot of some of your strap collection! Very diverse and I see you like the Pre-V shaped buckles as well!
  16. How fortunate am I in that I happen to need a new set of screwdrivers to replace my current set! Looks like I know which to buy now... Thanks, T!!
  17. Certainly www.timezonewatchschool.com (copy/paste into a browser) P.S. Perhaps some of our membership here can comment further on this course. I haven't taken it yet... But I'm pretty sure that some here have
  18. Plus, those little lug bars sticking out are perfect for catching the hook of a bra for ease of removal
  19. I know I do! Colorado is beautiful this time of year... But I no likey snow. Odd that I'd feel this was since I've lived here for my entire life...
  20. I have that book. Bought it back in early 2004. Good book and explains the basics, but if you want to get waist deep into it, you should check out the TZ course.
