  1. The dials in my watches are 100% genuine/original/authentic 1940's Patek Philippe; champlevé enamel dials.
  2. Almost bought this one over the weekend! But the more I looked at it, the more I realized that there were details that I just couldn't see myself being able to live with. Things like the position and placement of the balance cock and the sort. It's damn good and very close... But things like that... Once I notice them, that's all I'd be able to see. And that drives me crazy.
  3. Gents, Hope all are doing well! Always great to see old friends on the forum! Missed you guys! rolo- I currently have a Plain Jane V23 fitted; at some point, I still need to get it converted to 13-130 specs. Always something to do, and that project just keeps getting put off The diameter of my case is a little over 35mm... I think these old 1940s watches just fit so nicely on the wrist... Elegant, charming, perhaps a bit understated and yet... When someone knows what you have on your wrist, they know what you have on your wrist! Haha... I will admit, the 911 is a lot of fun! But... You can't wear a car on the wrist. I think that's what I love about watches... They're with you wherever you wear them; just one of those little joys in life where you can glance down at your wrist and have a reason to smile
  4. Nicely done! Think 1940's PPs are my weakness... The chronographs of this era especially! Mine says hi!
  5. Love LOVE this pic! Very well done! Great watches... Amazing straps!
  6. Well, it's certainly not for lack of complication or intricacy! This Breguet movement is pretty good indication that complex movements can be reverse engineered and duplicated. Rather, I think the Valjoux 7750 base movements for sec at 6/12 have staying power because... Well, they sell. And if they sell as-is, there's not a lot of motivation to change that, right?
  7. Thanks, gang! Anymore... 36mm just feels right for me. Every so often, I'll enjoy the 201/A or 3646, but the smaller size just feels more comfortable on the wrist!
  8. Okay... First off, I apologize for the very crude, sloppy pics, but I snapped these in a hurry... 570 with an oversized 130; both are about the same diameter (~35mm/36mm): 16622 with the 130: 16234 with the 130: Trio:
  9. Hmmm... You're close. It's about 35mm/36mm... But wears a bit bigger since it's mostly dial and not a lot of case/bezel on the top side. I'll see if I have any comparison pics for size/scale... If not, I'll try and snap a few for you
  10. For grins... One of the only actual reps left in my collection; an old school MBW Nautilus...
  11. Tricky trickster! I should probably wear them less... Just in the interest of preservation. Maybe I'll have them encased in a Perspex block or something
