If you're going to be upgrading to the T21, you shouldn't need to glue the bezel down. The gen tropics are a bit bigger on the O.D. so you should be able to press the bezel on and leave it at that (I would advise against pressing the acrylic bezel on as the metal is quite thin and prone to warping/distroting under the pressure). As for your bezel... Does it look like the one on the left? If so, that's the bezel for the 6239/6241 (aka the dash bezel). The one you want for a 6263/5 (or any other Oyster signed models with Triplock crown and screwdown pushers) is the one on the right. As far as I am aware, there is no rhyme or reason to the bezel combos DW puts with his cases... Other than perhaps what's available.

Heywood... If you're starting with a DW with the mystery movement, you'll need a few things- -New dial for the 7750 -taller case back (to clear the rotor) As for moving the 12:00 dial to 3:00... Are you going to use a bridge from the Asian 7750?

Looked up the technicals as my curiosity was killing me... Ref. 24-700 (Coronet only; no external tube gasket) 1959 - 1973 Ref. 24-702 (Coronet w/ 3 dots; no external gasket tube) 1973 - 1984. Ref. 24-703 (Coronet w/ 3 dots; external gasket tube present) 1984 - current Have some tube part no's as well...

Some excellent food for thought, and as always a fantastic read! Hind sight is 20/20; to see how far the industry has come in a very short period of time is amazing! And, it's important to look back at the progress to understand how fortunate we are today to have such nice pieces that are oft times taken for granted. As that is a Patent Pending back, the correct crowns for these would have been the Twin or the Triplock. I would not be surprised if the crown was a folded/foiled version with a Twinlock tube (that would be the only way these could thread down all the way...)

Since it was my idea to strip the crown, Rob, I don't mind sending you some money to compensate for it...

I'll echo that the TZ Level One/Two kit probably has enough to get you started.

Hmmmm... I'd like to know what this crown looks like polished up. And more curious to know what those three dots look like once cleaned up and inspected closely. The shape of the crown- The ridges and the fluted bottom all look like Twinlock attributes to me. Perhaps this was a transitional crown of some sort?

Wow... Very odd, very strange and very unusual! I was really expecting to see a Twinlock under the 'foil'... That is, one with no dots under the crown! Rather... The crown underneath has the triple dots as well! Very unusual! For the life of me, I cannot understand why they would wrap the metal around the crown like that when the one underneath already has the coronet embossing and is (possibly) stainless. What boggles me even further is the fact that the crown threads extend all the way to the opening; this should not be the case for a Triplock, as it needs to clear the gasket. I will need to inquire with some folks to see what they think. I myself have never seen this type of construction in a crown before...

A very stunning watch, Marty! Though, I must admit- when I think of Sinn, the last thing I am expecting to see is an elegant looking regulateur! The name on the dial threw me off for a moment, as I'm used to seeing tool watches and chronographs from that house! Enjoy that beauty!

Heh... I got my movement a la carte. A brand new Ebel 134 (EP400), in a little plastic holder shipped to my house. No need to pillage a watch for my movement... This time.

Yessir... Seems to have slowed down to the same pace as Will Farrell with his cow bell... But, I do predict that things will start to pick up... At least for new watches. The Christmas season is coming upon us soon, and I am sure we'll see some new goodies to stir things up!
