  1. Wearing two watches at a time has always been my favorite way to keep my watches wound! The true multi watch guy was Nicolas Hayek!
  2. P- Yours? If so... Please tell us a little about it
  3. If this is the same watch: Accutron Gemini Skeleton It looks like it's ETA 28xx based...
  4. Dunno much about it, aside from the fact that it's beautiful
  5. For SELs, you'll likely need to buy a complete 93250 for gen (or a complete rep bracelet).
  6. Another Comex... 5514 franken:
  7. Hmmmm... Finding a good aftermarket 5517 insert can be a bit tricky. I haven't found many good ones at reasonable prices, and the ones that are decent are pretty pricey for what they are ($130 - $150; for this price, you can buy a gen 5513 service/lumi insert). The 5517 takes a 7mm Triplock. The correct crystal for that watch is a 25-19, though if you want a really high profile crystal a 25-39 will also fit. Best of luck with your project... //ubi
  8. Those end links are definitely not for a Rolex Sub bracelet specifically, but they can probably be used with one. Correct end links look like this:
  9. Hopefully you didn't pay much for those. Were they from wholesaleoutlet990? If so... can't say I'm surprised. He peddles a lot of junk... EDIT: starfinding?
  10. Stilty- That 1655 you linked to; me no likey Case looks to be a bad replacement. Number of things wrong with it including the rehaut you mentioned (too small of diameter, too thick), the CG's and their shape, the lugs, the caseback. In addition, the bezel doesn't look like any that I've seen; it looks close to a Mk. 4, but certain details disqualify it from that distinction. In general, this is one that just looks odd at first glance and even stranger once you start drilling down into the details of it.
  11. The datewheel should be silver, brushed finish with the typical flat 3's and open 6/9 (except 26). I believe these were produced sometime around 1970.
  12. I'll have to check my machine at home; I just went through all my 1680 pics here on my office machine, and no luck. I seem to recall that the Cartier signed Rolexes also had the lug stamped/signed as well. Could be mistaken in that, but that characteristic does stand out in my mind.
  13. Oops... Yeah, for some reason, I was thinking your thread was about Tiffany. Cartier dials also exist... Double signed, and I believe issued with two sets of papers. I have some pics of one... I'll see if I can dig them up...
  14. Double signed Tiffany 1680's do exist... Gen:
  15. One thing is for certain; you only want to use a press with the steel bezel. If you use a press with the bakelite bezel, you'll damage it beyond repair.
  16. Thanks, Lani! Gotta say... This project was a test of patience (and wallet) for sure. Lots of obstacles, but turned out well in the end Great to see you back, buddy! Hope you'll be spending a little more time with us now that you've got your computer back up and running... Cheers! //ubi
  17. For a cheap fix, I simply used one of the round hour indicies from an old Submariner dial I had laying around. Cheap and looks decent for what it is. Compared to the genuine pearl:
  18. Do you have the 42mm or 45mm PO? Also, where did you purchase (second hand transaction, from a forum dealer, or via local vendor/stall)? Depending on which you have, I *might* (I say might as I don't recall if I threw it away or not) have my old dial left over from when I changed out to genuine parts. If I still have it, and if it's compatible with your case, I'd be happy to gift it to you to fix your watch...
  19. Dial rotating freely in the case is an indication that the dial no longer has it's dial feet to secure it to the movement and is basically 'free floating' between the underside of the rehaut and the movement. The dial may be coming into contact with the datewheel or cannon pinion, which is causing the dial to rotate clockwise with the advancing of hours or date. Was this watch converted from an a21j movement to Swiss ETA? The fix is to either procure a proper dial with dial feet intended for the specific movement you have, or to secure the dial to the movement with dial dots. You will need to disassemble the watch and uncase the movement, remove hands and dial to perform this task. Hope this helps. //ubi
  20. Lots of rep details with that watch! Has this guy been reported yet?
  21. ubiquitous

    Score!

You'll have something else coming your way soon as well, Nanuq!
  22. Wow... That is extremely surprising... And quite sad to hear. Quite the loss...
