  1. I never thought to check the hands, it is a vintage piece so it is quite possible it's slipping... I had only checked it face-up, told the ol' lady it was running fine and she must have set it wrong. I then set it and 24 hours later it was 40 minutes fast!
  2. I see maybe a Snowflake in my future...
  3. The movement in my wife's gen Tudor Princess Oysterdate is really acting strange. When she wears it it will run 45 - 60 minutes per day fast. When I put it on the timer at shows less than 10 seconds/day fast! Any ideas other than it probably needs servicing?
  4. With the CNC mill it should be possible to do Freddy's sub-dials as long as the leadscrews have 0 back-lash!!! I'm pumped...
  5. I might have one, I'll check and get back to you.
  6. Somebody wondered about my 36mm/34mm collection the other day so I pulled down the box to take a few pics. I realized that I now have more Tudors than Rollies. The first pic is of the Tudor "layer" and the only pure rep is the black-dialed Prince Date. The second pic is the Rolex layer with the Datejust and Oyster Perpetual being "Franken Lites" and the Air-King being all gen except for the bracelet and hands. I compared this from a picture I took almost exactly 1 year ago and I was surprised by how my tastes have evolved over the past year. And I'm currently wearing my gen Tudor...
  7. The case is 34mm which is the proper size for a Ranger.
  8. Just a couple of pics of my now finished Tudor "Pink" Ranger. I finally got around to replacing the T12 crystal with the proper crystal with date magnifier and installed the "roulette" style date wheel. I had planned on this date wheel when I originally built it but I forgot to change the DW! Although the red/black wheel is not correct I think they are cool...
  9. After sorting stuff out of the box into the for-sale pile I realized I didn't have a Prince Date so I rooted around in the parts box and found a couple of rep black Prince Date dials I had forgotten about. This one is all rep which is sort of a deviation from what I've been doing lately but it's a pretty good dial.

B4 I get flamed, I just went out and re-aligned my bezel...

This is the "stock" rep sapphire to which I glued an ofrei large magnifier... And, yes, I know I have my bezel shifted a bit but I'm lazy...
  12. Thanks for the reinforcement but watch where you set that thing, M, it doesn't need another trip to the watch hospital!
  13. To some it would be relatively simple and to others it would be akin to brain surgery. I guess you need to ask yourself which would be the lesser of the evils - send back again, pay postage, etc., or bite the bullet and spend the money to have stuff transferred to the new case.
  14. mcotter is sending me a black strap, hopefully it will look good now that I've transferred the guts to the different case. I also may chuck the case-back in the lathe and try to give it a more "rounded" profile. goat - That's a sharp looking Air-King! LH - Slick! I don't think I've ever seen one even remotely like that dial.
  15. Case set will probably be a case, case-back, crown (maybe), bezel, and crystal. The case, bezel, and crystal should be assembled and all you need to do is transfer your movement/dial assembly from the old to the new case.
  16. I started looking at my Small Rose project trying to visualize what it was going to look like with my new mcotter strap when it got here and I remember thinking that even with some "aging" it still looked too new. I dug around in my junk box and found an old gold plated case from one of my movement donors. I machines a brass movement spacer and slapped everything together and although I'm not a fan of gold plated watches this one just looks right! I also feel the basic case styling is a better fit with the age of the dial. It looked really strange with a "Tugaris" case-back but to my surprise I found that a generic rep Datejust back screwed right on! Just a couple pics for your opinions...
  17. This pegs the "Cool-O-Meter"!!
  18. Freak me out! I don't know how old this dial is but last night after flooding it with my hi-intensity LED flashlight the old trit still glowed a bit! mcotter is stitching me up a nice plain black strap and I think I will order the Yuki buckle. I may never wear it after the strap goes on but I agree it will make it look bitchin'!! I may even see if this dial will transfer into an old worn gold-plated Tugaris case for an even more believable looking piece...
  19. Feeling a little adventurous today...
  20. Andy, I'm not sure. It would probably look good against the black accented markers but I like lume! I am tempted to knock the Tritium bumps off the dial and replace them with dots of lume...
  21. I have put some feelers out for a 19mm plain black strap.
  22. I did the same as Andy, I liked the way the T19 looked opposed to the "Super Dome", which I also had.
