  1. Man, know where you are coming from having herded two boys through their early lives! My oldest did exactly the same thing - caught a sidewalk joint on skateboard, did a face-plant, sent tooth all the way through his lower lip. Kids are very durable and resilient I told him he'd live, ol' lady saw blood and freaked! It healed fine and I don't think there is any scar as far as I can see. When stuff like this happened to our rug-rats I tried to keep somewhat of a sense of humor about the whole deal and I think they sensed it and it helped their attitude about whatever incident was involved. Good luck!
  2. Thanks, Freddy, I may look into that - a very simple plain small-grain black strap.. Chi, what can I say!! This one had been partially assembled for several months and I got in a few movement donor watches over the weekend so I decided to finish it.
  3. I picked up this "Small Rose" no-date dial off flea-bay a while back and had planned on putting it to the hand-wind movement I had left over from the Time-Zone school. After finally admitting to myself all of the cannons were too short I stuck in an ETA 2846 and pronounced it finished. I stuck a Rolex branded Jubilee bands on it but may get a strap for it if I decide to keep and wear it.

Looks fantastic!! Is that the one they refer to as a "Big Block"? I have a band like that on my silver Prince Date Chrono except it's fully brushed...
  5. The last couple I bought were from Yuki @ 12/shipped and they seem to be very nice.
  6. I'll check Monday and let you know but I think it was a 25-118...
  7. Haven't worn this for a while...
  8. Let's get this ball rolling!!!
  9. Maybe it's their way of recouping tooling expenses.
  10. Eton, I like that one!!! M, that really sux about the MC but I suppose you can look at it as "accelerated aging".
  11. I dug this one out of mothballs...
  12. +1 to the 'goat. It sure looks like an ICHS - but at that angle and magnification...
  13. I bought half a dozen $50 watches and generally tormented them for several months. I didn't spend a whole lot and found what I could and couldn't do. In the end I turned maybe 2 into parts and was able to "dispose" of the ones that were still wearable and recoup some of the initial outlay...
  14. Nice on re-shaping the case!
  15. It is starting to feel rather massive!
  16. Dang, Andy! Where did you find a date-wheel with a zero?? Wearing he "updated" Jumbo today...
  17. These things are really starting to grow on me! This is drop-dead-gorgeous, R!!
  18. Today my "care package" from ofrei arrived with some longer hands and a 25-124 plexi crystal!! After someone posted a picture of their gen on RWI Der Bezelmeister (LHOOQ) decided mine needed to be larger and I concurred - M has a great eye for bezels! I decided this would be the perfect time tro fab up a new bezel as well since my original no longer fit - Duh! I also stuck on the new hands (13mm / 9mm) which were the longest stick hands I could find at ofrei. The sweep hand should be longer and I think maybe I'll add a red or black one to my next order if I can find one about 13 - 14 mm. This bezel is a bit over 1.5" on the OD and does hide the case bulge by the crown and makes the watch look even bigger!! I then ran it through the "chip-bucket" to put some scratching and scuffs on it so the case might better fit in with the older dial. Here's a couple pics of the finished product:
  19. I've got way too many! The wife is starting to make jokes about them, that is usually a sign of impending doom...
  20. +1 to what Ubi said, in fact I am going through house-cleaning once again! Unfortunately I am having trouble keeping the number under 20!
  21. Probably were low-beats and I think I've decided to leave this dial in the case w/fluted bezel and sapphire which would be correct with the high-beat. I am starting to look around for another dial and will then assemble a "vintage" version with low-beat movement. I would really love to build out a gen case but they usually sell for more than I'm willing to pay.
