  1. Unless you are going for a super picky, as perfect as possible Franken I have a couple of typical rep quality GMT Master II dials that I will probably never use. If you think you can use one you're welcome to it. Never mind, I just looked at your links and realize you are looking for vintage... Offer still stands if you want to convert a "spare Sub" into a Master II...
  2. OK, I had a chance to pop out to the shop before I head to work and it looks like it would take a dial up to about 26.58mm.
  3. It sometimes makes me wonder if all of this ultra close-up and macro photography that we have grown so fond/addicted to actually causes us problems and makes it so we can't really be 100% satisfied with anything! I might just start scaling things so that they appear more or less life-sized on the screen...
  4. I'll try to measure it in the morning.
  5. Looks good! I still can't get over how massive the DSSD is.
  6. One of the classiest watches ever! Maybe someday somebody will rep this...
  7. A complete drilling jig would be really nice if the holes could be trusted to always be in the same spot. Unfortunately I don't have that much trust in Chinese manufacturing and tolerances...
  8. In most cases, that's why I tried to be specific about differently optioned "same" products as there are some cheap buggers out there! trevorwatch insists the $85 2813 versions of some of his watches use the same casework as the 2836 versions and idolreplicas/watcheden list certain "mid-priced" models as having same "chassis" as A7750 version. I bought a quartz TAG chrono with the "same chassis as..." and it a very nicely constructed watch, too bad I don't like the styling as I've only worn it for about an hour! :-(
  9. TeeJay, you're welcome, we hoped it would put some at ease and clear up confusion for others. signumboy , you need to e-mail eurotimez for this configuration...
  10. My God, does it scratch yer [censored] for ya, too?
  11. That's cool, it's held up well - as little as I wear this V5 it should last forever!
  12. Holy crap, Andy! This is like cool to the N+1th power! Makes my ambition to kill the sweep seconds hand on my a21j Daytona seem rather pre-school... :-p
  13. Thanks, preacher. I think right now I wouldn't be nervous about opening up existing lug holes for somebody other than myself but I still want to get a bit more practice drilling them "from scratch".
  14. I posted a lume shot in a previous thread...
  15. Cool, it'll be interesting to see if there have been any minor manufacturing variances over a 3 week period.
  16. It's often said by some that if you buy an a21j version of anything you will get cheap watch - period - cheap movement, cheap case, cheap band, etc. Today I met up with levelmanroger, from RWI, to have some chow and see if there is any truth to this contention by comparing our Eurotimez V5 watches. levelman has the clone ETA version of this watch while I have the DG2813 version, but what else would you expect from me! After comparing our two watches, even weighing (both weighed 216 gm) them, we agreed that besides a slightly smoother sweep in the ETA version there was no way to tell the two apart! We then did a side-by-side photo comparo to illustrate this point with the resulting photographic evidence presented in this post. To make it easy to keep everything straight the ETA version will be always be on the left hand side of the photos and I set the bezel on my 2813 version one "click" off - this was more so I could tell them apart! It is our conclusion that if someone buys a 2813 version of a particular model from Eurotimez they will get a watch with the same high quality casework as they would have received if they had purchased the version with the higher priced movement. Just remember, this is comparing two different configurations of the same product and not a comparison between a "High-End" and a "Budget" watch that happen to be from the same vendor.
  17. parts4rolex guarantees this crown/tube set to be interchangeable with the gen Rolex parts and I found that it also screwed into the Noobmariner case just fine.
  18. I have a few bezel/pearl assemblies coming and I'm going to mix up a dab of DuPont Chroma Clear and try that. It should be just as clear as that used by Rolexman and maybe a bit more durable since it is a catalyzed product.
  19. TeeJay, yer scarin' me just a tad, Bro!
  20. Nothing other than enlarging the lug holes and fitting the proper spring bars - if their current placement will allow it...
  21. Thanks, TeeJay,I kinda like it but it seems a bit extreme to hack it up and make it a donor! Did you get your 1655 yet?
  22. I've never actually replaced one but I would imagine you would epoxy one in, maybe on the back-side after removing the insert...
  23. Fresh from idolreplicas.com, here is the latest addition to my "budget stable", I guess this would be a first cousin to the black bezeled example that condemore posted about a few weeks ago. Although, at $108, this one wasn't as "budget friendly" as the majority of my purchases it doesn't need quite as many mods so I guess it all comes out as a wash in the end. I'm not going to waste a lot of bandwidth analyzing this thing as I'm far from being an expert but I will make a few observations. Fit and finish are excellent, the end-link to lug fit seems superb and polishing and brushing appear flawless. The bi-directional bezel rotates smoothly and stays where you put it. The a21j movement sweeps fairly smoothly and the GMT hand is independently adjustable. The watch has the correct twin-lock 6mm crown, through lug-holes, tall plexi crystal w/cyclops, and non-SEL band which looks to be the correct style (albeit with the usual incorrect embossed scrolling around "Rolex") for this model. I like it - nuff said, here's some pics:
  24. Stukov, that will be perfect to use when doing a vintage piece, then....
