  1. Turned out great! Just got in another batch of "raw" cases and maybe will start machining and prepping them next week...
  2. Darth, that looks extremely "makeable" to me...
  3. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those in Paris, and all of France, after this cowardly ambush and slaughter of innocent civilians. It's time for ISIS, and all forms of Radical Islam, to be eliminated/exterminated.
  4. Let's keep this Explorer mojo going!
  5. diesel - if the problem is due to a "wokky" rehaut it can be re-machined...
  6. Two inside, one in the crown, and there is no groove in tube for external like the 703 has.
  7. To me therapy = seeing something I like then building it from scratch but I take it you are looking strictly for a gen or do you want to build one? I made up some decals a few years back for the this but would not be that big a deal to do the entire dial gilt.
  8. When I first got into this you could get the dials for $50 - $75 on fleabay now they are $300-$400
  9. I spot checked some of the other parts and they had no ordering limits so it just struck me as a bit odd...
  10. goat - don't think this has ever been repped this model is what got me into Frankens!
  11. I've found that the main weak point, at least recently, that I have found in the clone movements is in the keyless. The clone set lever does not appear as robust (I hate that word because it seems to be a favorite term used by marketing wieners) as the ETA part and I often replace it with an ETA part. I just re-ordered this part from Startime and notice they now have a 5 piece limit on the set lever and yoke. This is on part, at least, that I don't want to have to use a clone part for in the future. Guess I'll order a few each time I place future Startime orders. Don't really know what this means, but...
  12. Aged is good, abused is not unless you live waaaaaay up north and have to fight off polar bears on your way out back to the crapper! Yours looks good and I think that, if it's to be worn, makes it look a bit more believable.
  13. When I first started using clones I had about a 25% failure rate like Auto mentioned. Over the past year or so I have seen a marked improvement in quality and finish and about the only issues I've had lately (mechanically) has been set-levers in the keyless. About the only thing that hasn't been improved is cleanliness!
  14. Machined the stock one...
  15. I went that way. This is what I came up with...
  16. It's getting very confusing... Maybe he's got some sort of gig to manufacture "authorized" restoration replicas, or something...
  17. I can see how they would be able to refuse selling movements (stupid) but it doesn't seem legal to cut off repair parts to support product that has already been sold! I have used clones for several years but fix them with "gen" parts, guess I'll have to start buying clone parts!
  18. So, this would mean repair parts as well? Seems they would be stepping on a few laws in various countries by selling a product and denying the end user repair parts...
  19. And he feels he will be allowed to sell reps because?????
  20. Thanks, D! Actually the Explorer but I'm wondering if the 6:00 side of the Explorer will be the same?
  21. Does anybody have any pictures, sketches, crayon scribbles, etc. of the lug engraving on a 6350? Trying to work up accurate engraving and I can't find any examples. I'd even settle for a good description of what goes where!
  22. The T22 crystal is about .020" larger in OD than the T22...
  23. I'm almost scared to find out how much a phong-rep will cost!
  24. Lookin' good, R! I personally use the hands Yuki supplies with the dials as the lume has always been a perfect match.
