  1. I'm starting to get the hang of it. I milled the case back on this one instead of using the lathe, have no nubbin in the center, and engraving nicely uniform in depth.
  2. No flash, taken outside with direct sunlight as I was trying to catch the "dial sparkle"...
  3. You need a gen-type tube from ofrei, Clark, Yuki, etc. Drill and tap case for M3x.35 thread and you're all set. I don't remember having to drill my Noob, just re-tapping did the trick.
  4. Thanks! Pictures do not do the dial justice, it must be seen in full sunlight to be fully appreciated.
  5. I have finally put the finishing touches on the Prince Date Chrono that Chiman12 was nice enough to sell me a while back! He had done most of the hard work in scrounging the dial and a gen Tudor/ETA 7750 movement, all I had to do was tie up a few loose ends. I finished it up today by engraving the case back and I think from now on I'll just enjoy wearing it! If I was told I had to seriously thin my collection this would be at the top of my list of "keepers". Build Sheet: Gen Tudor/ETA 7750 Movement Gen Prince Date Chrono dial Gen Crown Rep Daytona case Rep Tudor signed Brushed Oyster Bracelet Stock rep crystal rotated 180 degrees with ofrei cyclops Case back engraved Lugs drilled
  6. OK, I have the artwork finished for that as it's the same as on the Prince Oysterdate. If the back is pretty much flat I might be able to do it.
  7. Somebody post up a good straight-on close-up of the proper case back and if it is a "flat" case back I can probably create a program to do the engraving...
  8. T, I really don't know, just sort of a "gut" thing that when looking at both side-by-side the black dial "grabbed" me a bit harder! It was a really hard decision as I really like the grey one as well. lgking: it would be really slick if you had a scanner...

    Tues WC

Interesting dial texture, R. Bein' fun and funky today...
  10. The "Perpetual Date" pre-dates the Datejust and uses a 34mm case. The Datejust uses a 36mm case.
  11. TeeJay was wondering about the "outer tracks" on the grey vs black dials so here a side-by-side to satisfy anybody's imagination which might be piqued... It looks to me like this area is color-keyed to the color around the sub-dials... And, before anybody asks, the grey one has been adopted by woof* and will be going to live with him soon...
  12. "Purists" will never like/accept modified or fantasy pieces - kinda like auto freaks sweating frame chalk marks at the Concours d'Elegance show! Personally, as someone who enjoys modified cars and bikes, I really don't see anything wrong with a fantasy piece as long as it maintains "factory" quality, fit, and finish...
  13. Goin' vintage for today...
  14. Pictures or it never happened/doesn't exist!
  15. Guess I'll go "non-Tudor" for today!
  16. I must give Tudor proper representation...
  17. Time to go back to work so must wear something practical...
  18. It has worked fine for me all day. Thanks!
  19. parryl: Both TeeJay and I did reviews on the grey dialed version within the past couple of months and this is identical except for dial color.
  20. Yeah, M, the white one is "Barf City"!
  21. I can't seem to stay logged in. I log in and after reading a couple of threads I'm logged back out...
  22. You have spoken first, woof! T, I'm really not sure as I hadn't noticed. I'll do a dife-by-side shot tomorrow and see...
  23. Changed from this: To this:
