  1. Looks great! I wonder how well it would age though especially with a bright coloured liquid moving a round in a clear tube, would it eventually discolour the tube? Suppose that might create some interesting patina
  2. Hmmm broker eh? Never used one before. Who's out there that offers this kind of service? In the mood for a 14270 because of the heritage / cost ratio. For around £3000 the other options would be maybe a Tudor 7928. Only thing is there are so many franken 7928s out there that puts me off.
  3. Well apparently the early 14270's had a tritium dial and lug holes but they are pre 1994. Its gonna be hard finding a complete set in good condition with lugs holes The long search begins
  4. Hmmm I'd probably end up keeping 2 low end cheap gens. After some quick searching there was an early version with lug holes! Only problem now is finding one with lug holes in a complete set with papers etc. This might be the winner if I find one at a reasonable price
  5. Hey guys. As some might know I've already started selling a lot of my collection to fund a nice gen. I'm getting attracted more and more to the 36mm Explorer 14270 and would be leaning towards the version with the Tritium dial. I prefer the 36mm version due to the dial configuration but the thing I hate is the non lug hole case and also its hard to find a local one in a complete set. Vintage 1016 Explorers are fantastic looking but unfortunately out of my price range. What do you guys think of the 14270 and do you think its a good or bad choice?
  6. Hahahaha no some guy posted a spam post selling shoes and it seems to be deleted now. Its ok I've not gone mad..... YET..... MUHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAA
  7. Can anyone else tell me if this set is a gen set of papers etc?
  8. Yes please its hard to know which parts are fake these days, so many fake papers, boxes etc
  9. Not sure if its already been asked but what exactly comes with a Rolex from new these days? Does it usually depend on the model too? With the amount of fake papers etc its hard to even know if the Rolex's being sold with a full box set are even genuine. Spotted this one stated its from 2007. Does it look complete, only thing I can think that's missing is the Datejust booklet, also is the card holder genuine?
  10. It happens unfortunately and we are at the mercy of the dealers or factories to be willing to accept a return to repair it or even hope that it makes it back through the Chinese postal system. I am a big fan of swapping in a leather strap with my reps now. It beats having to worry about whether the bracelets will give up and having my watch flying half way across the room or street!
  11. Yea I have the original engine turned bezel and jubilee bracelet so I suppose it can always be returned to its original form In my opinion the jubilee bracelet with smooth bezel makes it less flashy for daily wear
  12. Great looking piece. I wish they would make a modern version in 39mm with the exact same styling! The new explorers are such a disappointment!
  13. Thanks for the great tips and advice. Would it be wrong to put an aftermarket oyster bracelet on a 16030 datejust or should I try source a genuine one fro a reasonable price? Somethings telling me not to mix rep parts with a gen Rolex
  14. Thats the ring that sits inside the caseback to ensure the movement doesnt move around once the caseback is on.
  15. Dont let us all down now Mike, theres more wifey pics on the line!
  16. Holey moley that is some skirt!
  17. So I am just about to plunge for a Rolex 16030 but want to swap the bezel for a smooth type. Couple of questions: 1. Where is the best place to buy a gen smooth bezel surround and for the best price? 2. Are the gen smooth bezels white gold or stainless? 3. Are they easily swapped over? Could I do it myself? Thanks
  18. Pretty sure its a rep. Hands are wrong
