  1. What do you expect for $300.. :) On the bright side every rep comes with an attachable mirror
  2. I was just wondering if the A7750 clone had a winding point/station as some Swiss movements do? I have always been told on here that you shouldnt manual wind an A7750 but there is a different POV when it comes to the ETA etc.. Any definitive info would be much appreciated Thanks in advance
  3. Thanks mate.... Perfect... Much appreciated... bigger than I thought... 4 gens....? Bigger question is who nicked the missing watch
  4. Is there any chance some kind owner might post a comparison shot with another watch for size idea... I know size but these are just the sort of style that can look small or rather too small Pretty Please
  5. Thanks P I appreciate the reply mate So its an issue on the gens too?.... I just cant recall ever having an issue like that except on these Hublots... so if I replaced the movement for ETA it would still be an issue? Can I ask... when you say you replaced it.... do you mean with the same part from factory just a new one? Thanks again Pete
  6. Am I asking something wrong here guys ?? Is there none of you movement experts who could even suggest an answer please
  7. Cheers LH I like it more coming back to it.... It really reminds me of a watch I had a few years back... lower end brand... but it escapes me what it was.... only reminds now... not looks like Wear it well mate... now and again
  8. Lovely lustre and great patina Nice design too....
  9. I would suggest you read my post again Frank... I have not taken a side... but if you feel I have then I apologise it was not my intention..and nor have I by any means
  10. Its a very unusual shaped watch for the era... but I really like it.. Thats a great share mate and really nice pics... Thanks for taking the time. Whats the lume like on that age... I like the bezel I must say ... it makes me think I should unscrew it.... Is the strap original? It looks sort of tacky for this watch... not the style more the finish... I say that because of the plasticy thread look.. maybe its the pics.. The CB makes an ineresting read too
  11. You are all very naughty boys...... I blame Floyd!! He is a bad influence !!
  12. I know this has been posted before... a few years back.. But thought it might be worth relisting it for any new guys etc .... The second link is a link to general watch terms etc and other Horological info http://www.chronometrie.com/watchsounds/watchsoundspage.htm http://www.webwatchworld.com/watch-manufacturers/
  13. Hi guys, I spoke to Santi about somethng else and this matter was discussed and I must admit he was very nice and very humble.... Now I am not taking a side or implying anything in respect of any part of this issue.. But for what its worth... the guy, I think, genuinely believes he had an issue.... now I am not saying he is right etc but I am sure you guys understand that sometimes things happen in life where mistakes are made.... and more importantly sometimes we find ourselves in a position where we genuinely feel aggreived but the facts dont bear that out... and as time passes, you begin to realise that maybe your genuine belief was misplaced...but at that moment you feel frustrated that no one believes you etc.... I know I have and I am sure so have others.. throw into that language etc... ( I accept a translator came in when mods got involved) I honestly think in this instance that the guy does genuinely believe there was an issue.... now whether right or wrong we have all felt that at some time.... and while you have that mindset its very hard to give up that belief even in the face of evidence contradicting that belief... throw into the pot the info he got from his watch guy, whom he has a relationship with, then it can be hard to understand and accept .. (I hope that makes sense) I am sure Santi will come to terms with that but I would ask he is given a bit of time... as I think he will come to accept the situation in his own mind.. I am also sure he is grateful for Andy's help and will honour his undertaking.... He just needs some time to reflect I think
  14. Looks very nice mate... Personally I would never know without it going in my hand Where it well
  15. Great info mate.... Blimey little tolerance in making that bezel....!
  16. Thanks mate So does the inner bezel need the outer to hold the plexi? Or is it more a means of lifting the plexi or a means of allowing the use of the thicker ones..
  17. Sorry mate... Have I missed something or is it my eyes...? Have you done some work to the bezel too.... The height and angle appear different to the unmodded case? And I meant to ask before what is meant by the term '2 part bezel' ? Is there an inner ring in addition to or instead of the gasket ?
  18. Love it mate.... especially the pics indoors.... shows off that thick plexi... Trinity College? The Book of Kells... My old man got offered a scholarship to there back in the late fifties... but his mum made him stay on the farm to work !! It was his one regret ...
  19. So clearly if you are wearing one as a beater .... you aint getting the wear you see on the RG plated steel... now if I recall the wear once it starts... looks like silvery/gold in lustre then just goes to looking steel? So I would guess logic would suggest that the RG ceramic is a through and through colour ..... as an example like render on a wall.... some are just cement based grey thats painted on the surface and the better renders have the colour mixed in with the render. Which would suggest this is a finish that you couldnt harm in terms of making any dings that would show the steel colour underneath... because there is nothing underneath except more RG ceramic? I realise dings is probably not the right adjective for ceramic but you know what I mean hopefully
  20. Is Malmo the place there with the big Lamp and lamp shade in the Square?
  21. If you are in the US then Vac would be your first call.... If you are in the EU then you have a couple of guys.... Domi or Uwe... Domi use to use Uwe but is currently getting a deal together with a factory to AR crystals... if successful then you will be looking at crystaless AR.... should know in next few weeks Uwe's AR is very good but does have a slight yellow hue to it.... which is only really noticeable on darker dials... but its a really picky point of detail... Domi has recently had problems in his personal life with illness... so he hasnt been in Germany... He got back last weekish but is trying to catch up with things.... You might find he will reply or that it is possible he doesnt understand the email... His english isnt great and anything too detailed or long winded will cause him problems.... So send him emails in German or Italian But if its English then make it very clear short words. Domi struggles to pick out what you want from long winded stuff.. Avoid Taka at the moment he has to all intent and purpose disappeared.
  22. It is a lovely watch mate for sure.. But would I be right in thinking that the ceramic RG is a ceramic with RG colouring rather than a plating like the standard models you can get? Is that why you get the durability? And if god forbid you did cause a deep scratch or ding... is it a through colour or like RG plated.. a surface treatment? For example say you rebrushed that lug end... would it stay RG? Great pics and certainly something very tempting ....
