Absolutely true. What I was highlighting - and your informative post confirms this - is that the whole idea of what is Rolex or not is ridiculous when they use movements and cases that they have not manufactured and merely stamped their name on. The V72 is a classic example. Ok so Rolex tweeked it a bit but does that make it a Rolex product? No, oh sorry, yes - because it says Rolex on a bridge.

I was recently faced with this dilemma when I wanted to improve the look of my 1665 MBW He valve and I opted for the MBW 'valve' to be drilled out (but not drilled all the way through to the inner case) but replaced it with a visually accurate but non functional 'valve'.
