  1. Usually they put the 88888$ price in order to block people from going through the automated basket-check out. Look at the DRSD over Andrew's: since it is not available (I asked for it) it is priced in a way that their CC check out will process it.
  2. hxxp://www.rolex.com/en/#/en/xml/collectio...=M116713LN-0001 says it is 40.. remember we are talking about an aniversary Z serial. They now came out with the 'supercase' that is going to be 43mm, so this GMT-iic 116710L is the correct size
  3. Well, for 2.5k$ they could at least offer true engraving on the caliber and spell it correctly (not "VACHERO CONSTAN")
  4. A great collection. Love the fiddy and the flyback. Guess I have a thing for domed sapphires Wear them well. BTW: Why no radiomir cases?
  5. Great watch and a great picture too. Wear it well
  6. Well I just confirmed an order for a RLX GMT iic. I have two newbie-subLVs that get zero wrist time basically due to their size. Their 40mm seem too small and light after wearing 44-47 all the time. I think that even Rolex has identified this, and is/will be coming out with a few 42+ models. Their 'sports' line is too small for todays standards.. I was reading in TZ a few guys saying that everybody thought the 'big watch thing' was a fad and it would pass.. Well, they admit they were wrong, and now even RLX is sizing up.. The thing is that WHEN they start selling these newly sized models, it will take a few good months/quarters to reach the current rep perfection level.. I wanted a solid rolex that can grow on me, accompany me as a business travel watch (GMT for me and a SS RLX for coworkers that would be shocked/bored by seeing a HBB RG PC under my cuff) and take the summer activities (sea and snorkeling) as if it was designed for it. On top of that I admit I am a sucker for ceramic All in all, I am already waiting for my tracking number so I can ask my chief programmer to plug it in a script that will check the EMS site every 5 minutes for updates.. This is extremely useful since I do get to sleep for a good 5 hours a day, and hate losing control of pending issues for such a long period PS: Added two watches to the package in order to maximize the return on shipping: a gift for my mother (always The best cause if You have no kids yet) and a Corum AC Competition RGold (to check if I am immune to all RG or just to Hublot's AND get some pictures of this updated watch to the forum...waited a week+ but didn't find anyone reporting on it..nuff reason )
  7. Apart from what the rest of the experts say, I have to add the following. 1. Thicker crystal. (this holds true for all HBB so far) In the genuine the glass is standing a good half mm above the bezel. Maybe a bit more, but for sure, when You look at it sideways, the glass is on a different level (pun not intended) I have seen it first hand in a few genuines, and anyone can see that in pictures in TZ/hublot. 2. Deeper dial. (this holds true for all HBB so far) In the genuine the chrono and running seconds subdials are recessed: the center disk of the minute counter is the lowest layer, then comes the 5 minute disk, then is the main dial level.. In the replica it looks like embossing a set of grooves on the dial, with no leveling. 3. A proper superluminova (this holds true for all HBB so far): This should not be that hard: It is just 5 hards that need proper superluminova, no markers, no bezel (a'la Cousteau), no hard dial works here. 4. A proper datewheel (this is for the HBB on the first page of this post) Font is too bold. And go for the white letters on black DW. This can be custom ordered from Hublot and it looks better IMHO 5. Color of the RG is a bit "pinkish" compared to the genuine. It needs more red and less blue. We are talking nit picking here, and trying to fix something that good can result in a bigger mess than we started with. But that is my assessment under direct sunlight with both watches present Having said all the above, my HBB RG PC is by far the best replica I have seen and own The grass is greener on this side
  8. ditto on the datefont.. for me using two so different fonts on a dial is wrong.
  9. Ceramic is very hard when it comes to friction and scratches, but not on impact and compression. Having said that my HBB RG PC has survived a spectacular 5 meter dive to a tiled dancefloor. (Don't ask I'll post pics to prove that there is no reason to be afraid of today's gold plating) On your issue, I would advise You to use some thread locker as others have suggested. BTW my guess is that the cause of the cracks might not be the ceramic bezel, but the screws that are not perfectly copied from the genuine: if they don't fit perfectly with the bezel, they are becoming like a spike that instead of pulling the bezel down, it splits it open.
  10. Concord C1.. We heard the rumor, now let's see some prototypes Very exciting times indeed... I hope they will do some justice to the concord dial.. Look at the detail that goes into it: http://www.thewatchquote.com/mesIMG/img800/23273.jpg
  11. The first original HBB had a the DW-dial gap. Now they sit flush. I have read some marketing spin that they selected the 7750 for the proven track record as a chrono, and they added a quick date module. Some people believe that they have switched to 7753's now, but I haven't seen something that proves (or disproves) that rumor. BTW it is not the same for all dials: in CF ones, there is still some gap. Regarding the replica/7753 prosthetics, two possible problems are fitting the hands and removing the running seconds from 9. Regarding the hands, I guess if You can do it on a pam196, You can do it with the HBB too. I heard someone did it already.
  12. Once again, King is first to bring pictures of a watch that we'll see available in a few weeks: The HBB Senna, limited edition (not the Split seconds) and the All black, special edition for the second (hence the rose gold "2" on the dial) exhibition of the Tempus retailer. Both look very good. I will not hotlink any pictures.. You guys know where to find them. At long last, the HBB all black is just an order away
  13. MEYER: The sapphire really makes the difference in the PAM217/127. We are talking about a high dome, and the material changes the diffraction more than it does on a flat glass. It makes a huge difference and I talk from a personal experience. I have two 217s. The one with the mineral glass gets no wrist time and has been turned into a parts donor. I would advise You to wait for sapphires to become available. GOLFMAN: I agree with You. With time, experience and more makers on Your radar, You start being more forgiving to minute details. As long as the quality is there, I don't care if the font type is 0.01mm tighter than the original.
  14. In order not to start a new thread, I just came across today two new versions of the Admiral's cup Competition 48: Titanium with Rose Gold bezel and crown. With black or blue dial and strap. As always king is the first to publish pictures of the finished product. I prefer this to the simple Titanium, but have my reservations since the rose gold of the crown looks to be different from the bezel! I will wait for some better pictures.
  15. The crown reads "SCAFUIA" With such an open back (read: so distant from the gen), I wish they had made a better effort on the dial/crown. Markers are too big, the date placement is so obviously wrong, and the dials seem low quality. I really wish they made a better effort... I am afraid that the long-awaited Big Pilot, will be a spin off of this watch. That will be a real shame.
  16. Pushers on the gen are SS. The crown on the gen is SS. The back is ceramic or PVD, couldn't tell. The bezel is brushed ceramic, not polished. The silver circles around the minute and hour counters are thinner. The sapphire is thicker and not level with the bezel. (this goes for all HBB reps) The full ceramic case/bezel makes the BM feel lighter. I was trying on one in a AD yesterday. Received some compliments on my HBB SS I hadn't planned on entering with a rep, but saw the HBB BM on the storefront and decided that I wanted to try it on.
  17. My condolences Maciek. I have mourned two dogs in my life and I can't seem to find the strength to get myself a third one. My first dog lived 13 years, spanning from my 10th to my 23rd years.. Feels like a lifetime. I can still remember her..playing with my socks. happy to see me, even if I was away for 5 minutes..she was so genuinely happy to be with my family I still remember my late grand dad telling me the story of his dog: He went to the WW2 front, fighting against the axis in north Greece. Left behind his parents and dog. He returned a few months later(by foot, long story..), and his dog actually died in his lap in the welcoming dinner. He was old mutt but was crying everyday my granpa was away. May God rest their souls and hope to meet someday with them in dog-heaven Warm regards George
  18. While I love the idea of the two cyclops on top of the running sec/timer minutes, I think the impact it has on the readability of the time is enough to classify this design as a fashion item.. And as a fashion item, I might buy one if the full black version becomes available. I just hope nobody will ask me what the time is around 14:20
  19. Guys, thank You all for your contribution to this thread. Some of your suggestions educated or reminded me of videos from the past. But I believe that the best 'youtube video' ever is the benny lava. The rest are just online versions of the originals. Something You will see in VH1 or some MTV weekend. For those not in the know: I present to You, benny lava. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZA1NoOOoaNw PS: 4.3mil views and counting!!!
  20. Sorry for the off topic, but I have to say that I will be looking forward to that Concord C1. Reminds me a bit of the DeWitt Academia, both in fusion of materials, as well as for not being mainstream.
  21. A lot of people are repeating that we are dealing with 'illegal' hobby, so we should be practicing the silence of the lambs. Take the hit, and go on with business as usual. I don't agree with that. I don't care if I have to pay on top of what I paid for, tax-duties-penalty to get the watch AND/(or just to) get a scammer behind bars. -1 of them, and an extra thing to consider for the next one trying to outsmart us. In the end, if we get in the mind frame of 'illegal activitiy', the response to a bad supplier of illegal goods would not be silence. Had I not been so busy lately at work, I would have done personally the due diligence on this guy, and I would have probably refrained from buying from him. Not because there were any flags, but just for not having read a review from some of the trusted reviewers (you know who You are). I can't blame anybody for this: I just assumed that I was in a protected environment (TRC fame), it felt good to be able to browse a local (EU) collector's offers after a long day's work, the Corum AdCup was one of the few watches I was eying lately. I have done a couple of transactions on the members trade section that I investigated more than this. Guess I misinterpreted the presence and placement of the rizshop. I am still trying to communicate with the guy on the basis that this is all a misunderstanding or lack of information. I will plan my next actions (or lack of) according to his reaction (or lack of). Maybe the guy had an accident and he was not able to walk to the post office to send the watches. Or maybe he had an accident and couldn't get out of bed to go check WU for my payment. Or maybe he had an accident and he was not able to read on line the tracking of his misplaced shipments. Or maybe he had an accident and he bumped his head and he forgot to send the correct tracking. Or maybe he had an accident and he wasn't able to type with his fingers to reply to my past 10days emails. Accidents happen. Sometimes not only to people with bad karma, but one can only hope and orchestrate as much in life as his wisdom permits. Or his temper and persistence
  22. I went over TRC (even though I know its existence for years) after the last update in the RWG. One of the first sections I visited was that of rizshop, just to get a idea if there are any EU-based dealers I didn't know of. I didn't investigate it too much, having read about the closed community of TRC, I thought I would be safe buying from this guy. I am not blaming them since there was already a 'buy at your own risk' warning in his section. I am just saying that if this was in RWG (or RWI) I wouldn't have sent any WU to an untested dealer, plus I would have noticed him from day one. Well, I sent him the equivalent of 300+USD via WU for an Admiral's Cup. It is 9 days that he has stopped responding to my emails. Strange thing is that I was traveling to Sweden for some business and we were supposed to even get together for a beer. I had a couple of business dinners, so I didn't manage to email him while there. In the mean time, the watch was supposed to be delivered (if only I had planned for the short trip to sweden ONE day earlier, I would have asked to deliver it in person). Well, after all this time, I haven't received anything. I asked the admin over TRC to give me his contacts/details and I will try to find a way out of it.
  23. very nice pictures Maciek as always funny thing is that today I am in Greece and it is snowing as well morning flight to Warsaw is canceled, but hope to catch one later in the day. Ps:daen iphone, I missed on the rating and instead of a fold star I pressed 'disagree'. Any moderator can help?
  24. I am in.. Have a macro lens ready to do some justice to your work Now give me some time to figure out the model..
  25. Maciek, wear it well friend. I am sure it will grow on you. It is THE HBB to own. Well, at least until a All Black is released I am not a 'gold' man either, but this watch is balancing the glitter of the gold with polished and textured black parts in a unique way. In the beginning it felt too 'colored' for my tastes too, but trust me, it is going to settle down After a while, the SS/BC will look less interesting, like an Audi A4 compared to a S4 Here is a motivational picture
