POTM stuff here. Congrats on your find, and I would advise You not to wear it outside of your house: this is more rare than the day/month/moon daytonas..

Who is the collector offering this model? I have asked King to get me one with engraved rotor but he said he couldn't do it.. Dani, that is a great watch, thank You for the pictures, and wear it in good health.

I think they only do replacements and it costs around 1000euro. I doubt they will give a bezel without some proof of owning a genuine BB, with the specific bezel too. Still, a lot Gen owners know about our 'after market' bezels, so You could explain to him that You did it in this way. Regarding the 'OEM', I have no idea if all of the ceramic bezels are trully OEM, a production overrun, or 'according to OEM specs', what I can tell You and You know it already, they are really impressive I think You should do some explaining (need to know basis..no forum-reps etc) to your boss and order a bezel for him too

My sub Bezel doesn't click anymore... Need Help
geo1nah2a replied to Rolecs's topic in The Rolex Area
Ordering a new bezel for a noobmariner might cost almost as much as the whole watch! Bent bezels can be made straight again.. Been there, done that. Take your time, and You can do it. If You have the pellet-spring loaded assembly, the pellet can be found again on the floor by placing a strong light on the floor level, doing some push ups next to it, while looking at all directions around you. -
Welcome on board. IMO The case of the GMTiic is better than the GMTii in the 'out of the factory' state. If You are not going to do any modding then, I would suggest You go the iic way. The GMTii with a jubilee bracelet is a future classic, but I would go for the iic first. BTW be prepared to be probed by the rest of the rolex owners since this is a watch that most of them will want to try on-see etc.. And this brings me to my last suggestion, if You have been wearing only the CDurer for a long time, it would be advisable not to start presenting a different 5000kusd per week. People might either call you out on wearing rep's (best case scenario), think You have serious spending issues (normal case scenario), or suspect You are doing some shady business (worst case scenario). I know it feels like You were given the candy shop keys, but try not to go on a spending spree

Try the Euro2008, not the Fifa2008. It is better. I think it might be a bit heavier on CPU usuage, but if You strip it from visuals, it is worth the try.. I have 3 systems, pc-xbox360-ps3 and so far I hate to admit that the xbox has the best versions (both konami and EA) .. and I say HATE, because the controller is hiddeous for football (very bad diagonal control)

I have been playing football games since sensible soccer(1992), and then became huge fan of fifa97. I made the switch to PES around WE3 (if I recall correctly) and I was swearing that I would never go back to EA's hands.. Then PES2008 came, and that was a huge disappointment. All these years, the same problems and still no step in the right direction. Namely: I hate the fact that loose balls are always caught by defenders, header-passes usually end dead centered to defender's feet, and the through ball is really a joke: it is always enough strong so that the keeper will capture it in front of your striker. I tried the fifa2008. A different animal. Had to struggle against the start of the learning curve. Gave up since I found it too 'fifa' for my taste. And then I tried the Euro2008. Now, That I liked. Still, fighting to learn the finer details of it, but for a start I get a better feeling of dashing, running, passing, and full control of the shots. It is not without its faults, but it feels fresh compared to the same PES taste..

For what it is worth, I was told that this full ceramic is made by the second manufacturer. Don't get me wrong, I have a 'lite' BB SS/SS (silix) and after a k222 AR I am very happy with it.. Don't know if I could say the same thing for one of the more complicated HBB (materials/designs): The Tempus and the AllBlack seem to suffer from a few flaws with the datewheel color and the red chrono seconds hand being on top of the list for me. Waiting for a review or photos

Better photos of the new model Submariner (gen)
geo1nah2a replied to By-Tor's topic in The Rolex Area
That blue reminds me of Tupperware. Or Legos. Or Playmobiles. Something made of cheap plastic. I can't see how Rolex will manage to pull through such a provocative color. -
Guys are you sure this is the bezel not sitting flat and not the sapphire? Rotate the bezel 180degrees and check the bezel insert again. If the 'thin' part of the bezel-sapphire is in the same place (9o clock) you probably have a bad setting of the sapphire and not of the bezel insert.

To add to the previous posts, the 'jumping' hour hand refers to the jumps it makes while adjusting the time zone. While on regular operation (crown screwed in) both the hour hand and the GMT move constantly (no jumps) TTIUWOP

Wear rubber garden gloves. With the watch back facing you, put both thumbs on the back and rotate counter clockwise. Work great for me. No scratched backs here..
-
I wonder if the chrono hours will be 6h/cycle too. Did anyone notice the inversion done on the order of the display? The Chrono minutes are at 9 and the seconds at 3! Unles there is a new caliber out there, I am sure this is 2/3 of the mod that will be used to do the AP ROO.
-
If he wanted to warn the fellow rlx owners he could just post the serial (not the pic), attached a cropped picture of the bezel (number "6" is easy to spot since the genuine's is curved in the center), and mention the rolexrolexrolex not starting from 9o'clock. In fact he is doing more harm now to rolex since I am sure more people will try to get this replica.

Blackberry 8800 vs iPhone vs HTC TyTN ii vs Nokia E61 0 unbearable - 5 superb [iPhone comments] Internet on WiFi 0, 5+, 3, 3 [best internet experience on a small device] Internet on Broadband 3(mini Opera), 3, 3, 3 [internet is good, but speed is bad] Email 5+, 3, 4, 5 [emails display correctly, but no real push solution. reliability issues] User interface 4, 5, 2, 4 [intuitive and responsive] Battery (YMMV) 5+, 2, 2, 5 [if you use it at its full spectrum (ipod-phone-browser) be prepared to carry the cable/charger with you] Charger 4, 1, 4, 1 [i hate the fact that it can't charge from a standard mini Usb...combined with the above you might end up with double chargers] Voice 3, 2, 5, 5 [some lost calls, sound is not perfect, and going through a menu to end a call is kind of lame] external Leds 5, 0, 2, 3 [with a power hungry screen, a small led blinking for a missed call or new email would be a saver] Bluetooth 2, 2, 5, 5 [only for handsfree operation] Ringer/vibration 5, 1, 3, 5 [vibration is weak, and the ringtones are so-so] -wow- facrtor 1, 5, 2, 0 [well, you will not be the early adopter, but it still is the second way to show off your watches to your buddies (next to wearing them) ] Mp3/podcast 2, 5, 1, 1 [perfect mp3 player, very good for video too.. you'll have to buy a set of decent iphone compatible earphones] Aplications 3, 5(jailbroken), 2, 2 [you name it, there is an application for it, and for free..even a drum emulator ] Navigator/Maps 4, 3, 5, 2 [google maps assisted by the touchscreen and responsive OS makes it a great hyper-map. NoGPS is a minus] Keyboard 5, 0, 5, 4 [i challenge anyone who tells that the iPhone keyboard is perfect, to a duel with me typing on my HTC or the BB to keep the keyboard size the same] I have all these phones currently and my weapon of choice is the BB8800. I pickup the iPhone as a second phone whenever I travel (and that is frequently). There is noway that I would rely on it as a business phone. The Nokia is a good compromise, but I am waiting for the E71 to be released Same goes for the BB Bold& iPhone 3G. Bring them on. As for the HTC, it is collecting dust after it failed to impress me: last time I used a WM phone was 3 years ago, and it looks like the WM hasn't made a single step forward since then. Note to Balmer: fire them all.

Well, it is a quartz, but non the less I hope you will enjoy this video. It might as well be the first watch repair in space.

This is not going to be as easy as the simple 7750-to-7753 rearrangement that we see in most chronometers. But at least in the AP ROO, the Chrono Hours will not move. For comparison, in the Daytona_sec@6's all hands have to move around and change places between them.

Thank You to all who replied with kind words on the pictures. It is nice to combine my three hobbies: PC-photography-watches Maciek, I think You should come to Warszawa before ordering your next gold watch I will bring it to our GTG, and You can see if it 'talks' to You Plus, it will be a good opportunity for You to see the rolex 116710 GMT IIc up close Firsts drinks are on me And if k222 is available, I am sure he will be happy to join. (offer stands up to Friday noon, then I am off for a week of vacations to Santorini )

GMT II Ceramic - Bezel Numbers Silver or White?
geo1nah2a replied to TmeShare's topic in The Rolex Area
Here is a photo of the genuine.. It is exactly the same color I see on my wrist right now..Silver, same tone with the rest of the mat SS. It does have a sparkling quality to it, and therefore the flash tends to make it look whiter. Compare to the markers, these are white. -
I promised I would revisit this thread..Here you go A great bezel: there are 3 different finishes: mirror polished on the front, radial on the edge, and vertical on the sides.. The crown is great too: polished, except from the embossed Corum key that is mat. And look at the back.. The case/bezel layers look more pronounced than the plain Ti version..
-
uhm.. that doesn't mean he has contributed less than the collectors. OT: where is that pop corn emoticon when you need it?
-
You are welcome. I am sorry, but I don't have any more pictures currently. If I get some time tomorrow, I might go it one more round. The crown guards are made of a harder plastic (not the same as the strap), they feel of nice quality, and are pretty much in line with the case shape. No jiggle or free play either. The strap is nice too. It is finished to perfection, even from the inside-close to the lugs. It feels soft but firm. I actually feel it will take some abuse without giving up as fast as my HBB's . They tend to feel like holding someone from his pierced ears: not that safe grip for both parties. BTW the genuine HBB has the strap endings enclosed in metalic covers: that way the two screws are applying their grip on the whole width of the strap and not on two single points. There are some very nice pictures from TTK that show both the strap and crown guards.. He is banned from RWG, but if you frequent some of the other fora, you might stumble upon them. BTW: it IS a replica. If You get [censored] from minute details, I am sure You can find flows in all replicas. Enjoying them requires a bit of inner balance, and appreciating these watches for the representation of design and execution, more than their pretended value.
-
Well, I found some pictures of the genuine..They are hard to find: I guess their owners are not that much in love with them after all. This is the best I could find.. http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/j...p_2003_63996493 this is not bad either.. they look like their sides are shining.. http://flickr.com/photos/26533454@N05/2569183343/sizes/l/ Have a look at www.corum.ch too There are some pictures that show a different version: the numerals are flat and the running seconds hand is red. Which is something that should indicate that these are photos from some prototype or early production versions. Remember the differences regarding the font used in the "Admirals Cup"?
-
The numerals of the Ti are not metalic: they are level with the dial, painted on, and contain lume as well. It is a nice version, and the price is currently very attractive.
