  1. @ subfrog Send me your rep Sub, and I will create # 2 out of it. Yup that sounds about right. Ha Ha Ha
  2. @ kenberg, The Poley Twipple Lock Crown system is slightly different - ahead of the curve if you will, vis a vis the plebian submariner. It sits proudly out, displaying it's manly prominence. All the time ready for the next deep diving assignment.
  3. Thanks Gunnar, I always like to be ahead of the curve, you know 'Zig when others Zag'
  4. If you have followed my declining interest in replicas, and my growing capability for tweaking you will see the following as a natural evolution. Note the WIS MADE at 6:00, the creative doctoring of lettering, addition of 8 cherries. It has some resemblance to a famous brand model? must be a hommage to Invicta's Pro Diver? Hope you like it, but in reality your opinions are just that - yours.
  5. I bid on a used Ferrari Enzo, the seller is only allowed one phone call per day, should I be worried?
  6. Welcome back Gunnar, your avatar girl needs either a smaller watch or bigger hooters. Sorry I had to say that, it's been festering inside me for over a year.
  7. Good thinking to put the tweeters far away from the ported woofer.

    Gran

I'm not a member at the rep collector, but I am not about to doubt that Gran has his personal problems, don't we all? I lost $ 50 - big whoopdi compared to what rwg1 saved me overall. My issue is with Blade, he's the one that owes us an explanation, however a bright white light will shine from my sphincter before that story is told.
  9. Making a pilgramage to the rep Paneri factory? teaching them how to lume a dial? Either way, enjoy your time off !!
  10. it's also not a ETA in there. admin is the AP RO expert, follow his guidance and you'll not waste your time or money.
  11. The crown tube has become unscewed and stuck inside the crown of the watch. First remove the winding stem by pushing a narrow screwdriver into the stem release hole, it's the hole to the left of the stem in your first picture. It looks like a circle with a bar shape superimposed. You press it and it will allow you to pull the stem directly out. Now you will have the stem, crown and tube in your fingers as a complete unit. The tube needs to be unscrewed from the crown, but you don't want to damage the threads on the tube because you're going to re-install it later. Go ahead, make some progress and then we can help you with the next steps. BTW, go to the local auto supply shop and purchase a small vial of Loctite Threadlocker (blue) Medium strength. Well ? what cha waiting for?
  12. fugettabout barbiegal I want baghandler back, what happened to her? she had cajones.
  13. That one is offensive, wtf cow tied? it needs deletion IMO.
  14. In Waterloo region, our homes are the best performing asset in our portfolios. We don't have the GTA level prices, nor the GTA problems! but we were rated #5 in a test of the best places in Canada to live !! Lots of people overextended in GTA, one person loses a job in the family and up goes the For Sale sign. In USA, a huge percentage of mortgages are interest payments only !!! talk about living for the moment !!
  15. I have 14 watches, 1 more on the way. I have 2 reps and one semi-rep that has been modified into a Poley. The YM and the Poley get wear, the AP RO sits in the collection box. I won't be buying anymore reps, only reals. I learned alot about watches and myself with the replicas, the education process was fun but I have the degree and I checked out. I can afford nice reals, they don't force me to make explanations or justifications like the reps did, so for me it's just easier to own the reals.
  16. Check The ZigmeisterZumba's section on DIY repairs. Your click piece is either missing, or the [censored] has broken off. No, I'm not making this up as I go.
  17. WTF !! you guys used to be concerned about GAF, me thinks messing with radium makes these guys seem like Jehova Witness' ringin your doorbell. SuperLuminova is your new friend, embrace it.
  18. Happy to hear from you, send us some new pictures !!!
  19. Some know already, I stopped buying reps. I still wear them, I just don't have the buying interest anymore. I converted my everyday Sub to a "Poley" - it's quite unique with a yellow tipped sweep second hand. Where it once said "Swiss Made" it now shows " WIS Made" and that suits my funny bone just perfect.
  20. It may be helpful to remind / or inform members that ZZ's other hobby is highly detailed oil paintings, usually of airplanes. ZZ's skills come from years of holding a brush, and more recently applying those same fine motor skills to watches. Lots of people have the skills to do fine detail work, fewer still are capable of such artwork. I have a lot of respect for ZZ and also fully respect the other talented people that willingly admit that reluming is not for them.
  21. I bet I can name the other lumer in less than 3 guesses !!! Excellent work, I still marvel at the relume you did on my TAG Heuer and EL YM.
  22. The links come apart with force. You need 2 vice grip pliers, 2 small pieces of 180 grit sand paper cut from a 5" diameter random orbital sanding disk, the kind with the fuzzy cloth backing that attach velcro like to small palm sanders. Remove the bracelet from the watch. Cut the sandpaper to line the teeth (jaws) of the vice grips - one piece folded over will work, say a strip 1/2" wide by 1" long will work for each vice grip. Clamp the pliers over the outer links of the last SEL joint, clamp tight enough to hold the links but not so tight that you destroy the links. Place a towel over the pliers and braclet, and pull apart. The link will separate and when they do ~ wham !! the pieces will fly all over the room. Trust me, I have done this before and I WISH SOMEONE TOLD ME THE TOWEL TIP before. In case it's not clear - the towel keeps the pieces contained to a smaller blast circle. Yes, you will have some small marks on the links now, but these will sand out nicely after you put it all back together. It works, and I was actually surprised at how little damage this does to the links. The secret is the cloth backed sandpaper in the jaws of the vice grip locking pliers, don't go cheap and use regular sandpaper - you'll leave large marks in the stainless steel, too large to polish out easily. Good luck, pm me if you still need assistance.
  23. hey mr cuke: takes a Canuck to make this difficult !!!
  24. Sorry joe, you ain't my taste, in fact I'd find it easy to quit you!
