  1. Can Canadian members join in? I would be in for Liverpool, but seeing their abysmal performance recently, I would go for FC Barcelona likely, give me a few days to think about it.
  2. No good lah. A RG Offshore was only made in the "Pride of Russia" edition by the way, and the caseback on this is totally incorrect. The watch also seems bit out of proportion, and the crown/pushers look like they're the wrong size. Listen to the dealers, pass up on this one, wait for a proper version to come out.
  3. DeWitts should also be easy to rep, the base models use ETA movements, and as rep makers have successfully imitated the retrograde seconds function, I don't see why we can't have 95% accurate DeWitts.
  4. That watch just screams fake. The bracelet looks like a POS, just look at the endlinks, the fit and finish like that doesn't even belong in a $200 Seiko, let alone a $10000 genuine AP! To me a seller who sells hundreds of watches and can't tell this is fake from the build quality deserves to have something bad happen to him. The part of saying the watch has been opened and verified as genuine Audemars makes me even more angry.
  5. Anyone else here a fan of Roger Dubuis? I hope I'm not the only one. I can only pray that there will be some half-decent Roger Dubuis reps, they shouldn't be too hard to do, especially the Easy Diver Chrono which uses a Lemania wind movement. The makers can rep heavy dive watches like the PAM 187, so why not another hockey puck like the Roger Dubuis models? Their base models are easy to rep to, no issue with dates, as all of their base models only have the hours and minutes, and a few have seconds. The only unfortunate thing about Roger Dubuis is all their models have a display back, and this will be the ultimate giveaway. Also, the repmakers may have a hard time replicating the carbon fiber accents on the cases of the Sport Activity Watches like the Easy Diver, Acqua Mare and the Sea More.
  6. http://cgi.ebay.com/AUDEMARS-PIGUET-ROYAL-...1QQcmdZViewItem Damn, the guy relisted it again after it ended. I already sent him a mail saying that it was fake, and he replies that the watch was checked and verified as genuine Audemars. What's really bad is that he's asking the price of a genuine and it's a reputable seller too! I pointed out all the flaws with this one, simply noting that the original had a display back!
  7. Bloody brilliant!
  8. Darn it, I'm such an idiot, should have figured that one out.
  9. Thanks for the info, looks like I'll have to get the silver dialed one myself now. And just to note- I wore this rep into the VC boutique in Hong Kong about a month ago just for kicks, and the staff didn't notice anything, they just said "That's a nice watch you have already", and showed me any other VC's my heart desired. Never got called out once by other owners or watch dealers. I think we may be overestimating the ability of ADs to pick out reps. BTW: I doubt that putting the crown from the 40mm version on the newer one is going to work. Remember the 40mm version had a pull-out crown and this one finally has the correct screwdown crown.
  10. For $1300 get yourself a nice used Breitling or Omega. You'll probably have some change left over to count.
  11. Ask someone who owns it. I doubt that the replica makers have correctly imitated this effect. As far as I know, most people who bought this rep bought the black dial (please correct me if I'm wrong).
  12. It's difference in lighting/effects I guess, since VC only made two dials for the Overseas: Silverish-white and Black dial. Nothing else.
  13. The silver dial is the white dial. Technically, the "Silver" dial is a white dial, but the difference is that it has a kind of glitter, some kind of iridescense, which seperates it from a flat white dial. In pictures, this iridescent effect is not captured, you have to go to a VC dealer to actually see this. I highly doubt the repmakers have imitated the depth of the genuine's dial. This is true for watches like the AP ROyal Oak as well, where I have a 15300 with a "White" dial, but it shimmers in the light like it was silver.
  14. Not worth it at all- Better stick with the reps we get from our dealers, you would pay more for the Invicta, spend tons of money to "mod" the watch and end up with a less accurate watch for twice, maybe 3 times more than what you would pay for a replica Rolex from a dealer.
  15. I'm just worried because 4 packages containing reps I sent on the 30th have all passed Customs and are on their way to their new owners, then again they all cleared Customs on the West Coast, the AP is stuck at JFK apparently. I'm just worried because the gen I send with an enourmous value is stuck while the reps pass through.
  16. I'm thinking the PAM Slytech 202......... Edit: I take it back, I just noticed the bit about 44mm case.... OOPS!
  17. I was wondering if US Customs delays are the norm for people around here.... I'm asking this because I sent a genuine AP 15300 (Watch only) to a buyer in the United States on August 30th by EMS from Hong Kong, and it's been stuck in Customs at JFK since 8:00am August 31st at JFK. What I'm worrying about is I underdeclared the Customs at the request of the buyer and wrote "Broken Clock for Repair and Return to Sender" with a value of $250. Any thoughts are appreicated.
  18. Conquerers of what sport? I seem to recall Greece failed to even qualify for the World Cup, let alone win it.........
  19. The King Conquistador is so easy to rep..... They can put the 7750 in, and the rep will have no subdial spacing issues and even the date window will look right, as it is sunken in on the gen too. Ditto for the King Conquistador, also easy to rep, they can just throw a 2892 in and it'll sell like hotcakes too. I couldn't believe my eyes when I tried on the King Chrono at a dealer in Hong Kong, the price tag was a ridiculous HK$202,000 (Almost US$27,000) for a SS watch with an ETA movement. Unbelievable.
  20. Saw a shop in Hong Kong selling a pristine used one for about $2300 US.
  21. If it's not too late, I'm in last.
  22. Ordered mine- may get it on Tuesday or so as I am in Hong Kong.
  23. As long as you register the watches before you leave Canada, you're fine. If you don't, just produce canadian reciepts or Canadian dealer papers and you're fine. EL has hit the nail on the head with that post, and it's all true.
  24. They should make the Breguet tourbillon rep with the new movement that looks exactly like the real thing. There could finally be the possibility of a 99% rep of a $150,000 watch. I would even want to have it done in real gold or platinum. Knowing the rep manufacturers though, they might **** up something else. One thing for sure is the level of finish will not be as good obivously and no one knows how long they may last, and if they die, you may pretty well be SOL. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth.
