  1. Indeed. The writing on the chapter ring, the word "Tachymetre" looks very, well uhhh.... tacky. And the date window ain't fooling anyone... the datefont is off and the window is not deep enough.
  2. If I was able to spot it, it's a matter of time before other people will. WIS like me can spot reps within a split second.
  3. That's quite funny, but I think nothing will overtake the significance of Rolex in important occasions such as graduation. I have my 16713 from my graduation and will never let go of it.
  4. Yes it is, but I have never seen a actual "real piece" in ADs, etc. of one with a white surround. The picture above is of a catalogue picture, which may differ in actual production.
  5. Who is sergeytitov? Stop posting pics of replicas on TZ and passing them off as real! You just posted a pic of a fake Rubberclad, showing off your new carbon strap... I also see that you posted pics of blurred fake Hublot Big Bang too... All I can say is, you're playing with fire by posting pics of replicas on a genuine forum.
  6. The datewheel surround is supposed to be black on the Rubberclad and silver on the White dialed SS bezel. The one you showed above with a silver surround is of a SS bezel piece. Don't believe me? Search for real pictures of the White Rubberclad, and they all have a black surround.
  7. Wow, you bought the genuine? Congrats, that is the true godfather of all AP ROOs. Of course you buy gens like these. The only way prices on these go is- UP.
  8. Yes, it's true it comes in both metals. The genuine piece I have is in Ti, so I can't compare the weight.
  9. As soon as I receive my black dial, I'll work on a write-up to compare it to the genuine, and do a complete side-by-side. (Although the genuine one is in Ti) I also want to say: The silver background for the date is also correct. I have seen it twice on genuine black dial Themes.
  10. Holy motherf***ing ****. That's all I can say. Haven't looked at this site in weeks, and this is what I found. WOW.
  11. Ya don't know what's been going on in the kitchen for the last year. *cough*RM 009*cough*
  12. Had this piece on my wrist at a grey market dealer in Singapore... nice watch and very heavy. The all-carbon one looks much cooler though. Seller is asking too much- I can readily get one for about $100K if anyone's interested. These retailed for about $90K I believe.
  13. Papers in those pics are gen, box is a cheap Chinese fake one... nothing like the real AP bpxes.
  14. Personally though, I think getting a genuine AP ROO will be a good investment in the long run, getting a used one is the best way, as buying new, you will still lose money. As I have been following the ROO for a while, prices have easily gone up over 50% in the secondary market in the last 2-3 years, limited editions over 100%. There were days that you could find a Rubberclad for a little over $10K, these days on TZ you should look to spend at least $14K for something that's in average condition, and there's no sign of the craze dying down (for now). And you're definitely right about HK, never seen so much selection available at once, but shopping for genuine watches in HK is no longer what it was 5 years ago. 5 years ago, you could get 40% discounts, and continue to bargain down the prices. These days, tourists from Mainland China pay full price for these watches, the mentality of the watch shops now is "If you don't like the price, there are 10 people lining up behind you willing to pay full pop".
  15. What I don't understand was that I went through the EXACT same program about 10 years ago, and actually was taking the exact same course, and back then students weren't this incompetent (my personal opinion only). I mean, I'm talking errors in addition/subtraction and other common sense errors. Never mind them not even understanding the concepts (Obivously a mortgage is a liability!) I even had one exam paper where the student instead of really attempting the exam, decided to write me a long essay begging for me to give him a high mark in the class or else he wouldn't get a new car from his parents, etc. etc and as a result got 2/100. I used to teach 2nd year Accounting as a side job from my day job and they were a really smart group of students, so I was very disappointed when I'm teaching 30 hours a week to such incompetent students and feel so helpless/useless to them.
  16. Okay, so I've been a PhD student here at the University of Toronto for 1 year now, and in September I was appointed by the faculty as an adjunct professor for the Accounting department due to my experience and academic record. (I have been a teaching assistant since January of this year for Accounting and Finance courses). A few weeks ago, a few hundred first year students wrote an examination for their prerequisite accounting course, and they all did really bad (average was a failing grade). Needless to say I've come under a lot of fire, students have been calling me terrible, etc. etc. Problem is, I fail to see where I've gone wrong. I told them everything they needed to know, I've offered office hours and help, and no one askes me questions, so I assume everything is all right. The mistakes that were made on the examination were very disappointing, there were some major errors in the mathematical part despite the fact calculators were allowed. I want to know, where could it possibly have gone wrong? Where did I fail as an instructor? All my students failed to answer this question for me and just blamed me for their poor performance anyways. I have taught Accounting "labs" at the Schulich School of Business in Toronto for 6 hours a week for almost 5 years, and have never had complaints, and same with the courses I've taught since January. I know it's probably hard to answer this question, but I want to know points where an instructor fails... I try my best and I feel like I'm useless.

    Tattoos

Never understood the appeal behind tattoos... especially among young people who will probably regret it down the road. I must admit some of the artwork is really nice and I like it, but the though of it being permanent makes me cringe. I'm the kind of person who changes his mind in a snap, and can only make quick (sometimes irrational decisions).
  18. $20K is simply absurd. But again, as long as there's someone willing to pay that price, then it's worth that price. NO watch is ever "worth" what it is by the value of its materials, it's worth what people will pay, hence that is why there's discounting involved, the market determines these conditions. I had the chance to buy one of these last year at $8K and I balked at that price, and it's even worse now. Some of the APs are going insane as well, I bought a JPM Offshore for $21K 1.5 years ago and now it's worth almost $45K.
  19. Hey there Mark, I hate to ask, but do you still happen to have my 2893 datewheel that I have waited almost 18 months for? Thanks....
  20. Me and my wife admittedly have been using an unlocked iPhone for the last 2 months, I drove down to Buffalo one weekend, brought two back and unlocked it within 30 minutes and I've been loving it since. I use it mainly for multimedia, but I also carry an N95 at the same time for the camera and to browse on 3.5G speeds here in Canada (EDGE is painfully slow). iPhone has a nice screen and multimedia, but it lacks a lot of basic features, and the storage space is still a pretty sad amount. I didn't install any third party applications as they crashed my iPhone within a week, and I had to start everything over again.
  21. All I know is there's a few hundred first year business students probably plotting my death after I posted their Introductory Financial Accounting midterm examination marks last night.
  22. I haven't logged on here in a very long time, last post I made was in early July. I can only imagine what has happened in the world of replicas in the last 4 months... I haven't had time to check what has been updated, did they come out with a seconds @12 Offshore yet? I've simply been so busy this year, as I am conducting full-time research and also take on the role of a full time lecturer/teaching assistant in Accounting and Macroeconomics at the University of Toronto, I teach 30 hours a week, standing in front of a lecture hall and just blabbing away, since that's the only source of my income now... Anyways, looking forward to making a return on here.
  23. It's a shame that I lost $60K on the stock market today- just exactly more than the cost of this watch.
  24. Philippe Dufour Simplicity- I've tried to buy one for the past 2 years but no one is willing to give theirs up.
