  1. Well I loved my yellow dial Seawolf, brilliant watch, built like a tank! You can see the details here: But after a while that selfsame yellow dial began to infuriate me, it lost its allure. So I sourced a grey dial and popped the watch to our resident expert Domi in Germany, here are the results! (Thanks Domi!) Keep clicking to expand: Looking good with a genuine black Breitling calf strap! The lume is really nice on this dial, the 6, 9 and 12 markers are smooth and even, among the best rep dials I have seen (Thanks Tony!). I don't really miss the yellow dial, I think it was the lure of the accurate lume markers that swayed me in the first place to the yellow version, but now this grey dial has saved the day! Comments and observations welcome!
  2. Ouch! hard lesson to learn, sorry for that I will change straps sitting crossed legged on my carpet with this IWC then!
  3. Oooh nice, gen movement, dial and crown maybe? Yep the ceramic in reps definitely won't have the same properties as the gens, aside from resisting scratches at least!
  4. Very nice lume indeed, obviously Domi will get better and better with the more lume work he does Glad you could remove those scratches, a very handy way to keep the watch looking new!
  5. Hey great pictures jmarin.72, thanks for sharing! Looks like Domi relumed it for you? May I ask how the lume on the hands looks, is it nice and smooth/even? Seems Domi did a fantastic job as always!
  6. Thanks chaps! The TWB's strap is not that thick, and I think it is just kevlar "look", feels like rubber, but it was only $40 or so. I would love to know where to get a real kevlar strap, but can only find OEM straps for $170+....
  7. Patience, he will reply when the crowns are completed
  8. I have a TWB's kevlar style strap too, which also looks pretty cool, a more "clean" look to my eyes Click to expand: Cheers!
  9. Nice info If you use a dremel with a soft polishing attachment and red rouge polishing compound, you will get the job done really, really quickly, and save you arm a lot of grief! Might be worth considering giving the case a brushed finish now with a soft rubber abrasive block. I personally prefer a matte finish to a glossy one EDIT: I see you are, great minds think alike!
  10. Thanks plaifender! A member on repgeeks mentioned the strap looked like a chronissimo strap: It costs over $90, but does look nicer, maybe a future upgrade?
  11. Yes, and you mean that literally of course!
  12. Thanks redwatch, the strap seems to be made for this watch, a really great fit!
  13. Picked up this little beauty cheap from Sql_pl, as the day/date was not working, thanks for a great transaction Sql_pl! After a trip to Germany for Domi's great care and attention, she is up and running perfectly now, thanks Domi! I also picked up a RIOS 22mm aviator strap from ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270210314956 after seeing a member on repgeek post some sweet shot of his watch.... Here are a few pictures, click to expand: A really nice watch, and so light, I didn't expect that! The crystal has the blue double AR that I like, very effective! The "TOP GUN" engraving on the side of the case is very sharp too I noticed when I accidentally scratched the back of the lugs as I squeezed the 22mm strap in place (D'OH) that I could remove the marks! I took a small piece of my rubber abrasive block and lightly scrubbed it away! Afterwards I just rubbed my finger over the effected area, and it was as if the case was never marked, sweet! Comments and observations welcome!
  14. I think the Breitling Evolution or Skyland would be a better choice than this rep, they are much more accurate and in the same price range, plus you can actually read the date with those watches
  15. Looks better, but how is the pearl lume?
  16. Damn, the sunken date font just kills this release for me
  17. The date is sunken due to the GMT modification on the A7750. You raise the date by glueing the date wheel to another disc underneath The date wheel below usually has holes drilled into it to keep the weight down. You basically end up with a two tiered date wheel, connected at the outermost edges of the discs, with a gap in-between the two, so the joined disc can still turn, and keep out of the way of the GMT gears
  18. Hehe, I best not post any pictures of my watch collection, who knows what you will say!
  19. I look forward to seeing the comparison shots!
  20. I know exactly what you mean, it was the same for me with the white dial rep/gen. The rep dial was a sterile white, the gen was a lovely cream colour, a major difference, hence I sold the rep
  21. Very nice, the older version, with the square second hand tip!
  22. Well, I am wearing my Yachtmaster: I guess I should buy a Casio watch, then I will be safe!
