  1. I've been called far worse than than a pig! Glad you're enjoying the strap V.
  2. I'm lovin' this strap so it's getting more wrist time, one of these days I'm going to have the bezel lumidot fixed
  3. Andrew, It is most likely 1950's, looks like a 6600 series case, which takes a 20mm bracelet but don't quote me on that -I'm no expert. I've see them sell between $600-$900. If you're getting or got a better deal than that it may be worth it for the bracelet alone depending on the condition. It's an attractive watch either way, great dial color. Here's my 50's 6614 with 1020 movement, it looks very close.
  4. Predfan, They look good, and miles from where they were. The one rule about vintage Rolex is -there are no rules.

Well affordable is a relative term I should have said more affordable than a 5513. They keep going up, I've noticed Tudor Subs are selling on average for ~$300-$500 more than they were a year ago.

Thanks Stephane, This is one Submariner that is still quite affordable, grab on while you can. Mine was a wedding anniversary gift from my wife a few years ago. I had the bezel replaced as it was trashed and a Superdome T19 put on it. It also has an old twinlock crown

Thank Kollector. Longshot, Nice classic watch and I'm sure that was a much more common piece seen on divers wrists during the war.

I was goofing around the other and day took these shots -hope you enjoy them. This is a MKII Watches modified Marathon Navigator homage to the Benurus Type II. The Type II was a US issue non-magentic sterile watch for US Special Forces, Navy SEAL's/UDT and CIA members. My gen Tudor 7016/0 military (or snowflake) Submariner was a favorite of many sailors and frogmen of course.
  11. Well done post Timepiece. Here are some of the new Maratac G-10's, better spec than the issue ones IMHO.
  12. Southcoast, What a great story and classic timepiece, thanks for sharing!
  13. PAM 187 today with a new distressed lambskin Europelli Tomorrow the wife and I are going out without the kids so it's my dress watch that hasn't been worn in ages -a gen 50's 6614 Sunday is Tudor Sub day
  14. @tmg: I love love love your orange mili-strap. Did you get it from that vendor in HK on *bay? Hi V, Actually its a new Maratac NATO from westcoastime, the best NATO/G-10 made IMHO and a steal at $12.
  15. My arm needs a workout today.
  16. Avitt, I'm a big fan of your work, it turned out beautiful! I'm partial to the silver dial too
  17. DuDro, I know HKTan also makes some with screws, you can find him on Paneristi. I'm sure you'll find others manufacturers as well there that offer them, but that was the first that comes to mind.
  18. Hmm, I wonder who's selling that tropic 19 Nice work as always Tribal, good luck on the sale!
  19. Phoband, now that's a dress watch, what a deal you landed. Congrats!
  20. Gens for the next two days, I can't think ahead beyond that. Snowflake sub today and tomorrow my Speedie
  21. Bertieng, It will fit, I have one in my mystery movement 6263, The Zigmeister did the work -I'm not sure how easy or difficult it was. I lucked out and found a lone movement. I could bring myself to gutting one from a vintage Croton I had. You will need the VJ72 hands though to mix and match with the mystery movement hands as the hour, minute, and sub dial hands do not fit my VJ23.
  22. Thanks Victoria, I'd love to see some pix of the new strap. You have quote the collection of PAMs and straps! I think Nuri still custom makes straps but does sell some ready made on Paneristi as well. He turned the one in the pix around in less than a week. I have one other Zuegma that loos great on my 061. I'll have to get off my fat one and take some pix. BTW, did you receive the DSN straps okay? Best, -TMG
  23. Thanks Nebakanezzar, I REALLY like this strap! It's a custom made Zeugma strap, all handmade with vintage leather. They're pricey but he uses some amazing hides. Here's a few more shots to really appreciate the leather. Sorry for the hijack zeugma link
  24. Thanks a bunch Ximenes! I think the Zuegma strap completes the watch.
