This proves once again....all you need is the right tools to get a job done.....

Very nice watchugot pannylovernr1.... I finally found the time to fit one of my Palp crowns this weekend.... to my 196. It is strange how such a small piece of metal can make such a difference. They are very well craftet, fit perfectly and you don't have to change the stem (as suggested in another post). You have to shave the CG lever a bit though. ....ooooops - sorry for invading your post here....

I browsed through this post and was kind of surprised by Gioarmani's rather emotional reply. Then I went over to TRC and read Daunwaun's post in question. I suggest to all of you to do that. It pretty much speaks for itself. Someone please show this Gentlemen the way to the door.... he's obviously lost here.

The Most Functional Word In The English Language
chubbchubb replied to jfreeman420's topic in The looney bin
This [censored] reminded me of something I received from a friend lightyears ago.... REF: SPECIAL HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING In order to assure the highest levels of quality work and productivity from employees, it will be our policy to keep all employees well trained through our program of SPECIAL HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING (S.H.I.T.). We are trying to give employees more S.H.I.T. than anyone else. If you feel that you do not receive your share of S.H.I.T. on the job, please see your manager. You will be immediately placed at the top of the S.H.I.T. list, and our managers are especially skilled at seeing that you get all the S.H.I.T. you can handle. Employees who don't take their S.H.I.T. will be placed in DEPARTMENTAL EMPLOYEE EVALUATION PROGRAMS (D.E.E.P. S.H.I.T.). Those who fail to take D.E.E.P. S.H.I.T. seriously will have to go to EMPLOYEE ATTITUDE TRAINING (E.A.T. S.H.I.T.). Since our managers took S.H.I.T. before they were promoted, they don't have to do S.H.I.T. anymore, and are all full of S.H.I.T. already. If you are full of S.H.I.T., you may be interested in job training others. We can add your name to our BASIC UNDERSTANDING LECTURE LIST (B.U.L.L. S.H.I.T.). These who are full of B.U.L.L. S.H.I.T. will get the S.H.I.T. jobs, and can apply for promotion to DIRECTOR OF INTENSITY PROGRAMMING (D.I.P. S.H.I.T.). If you have further questions, please direct them to our HEAD OF TRAINING, SPECIAL HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING (H.O.T. S.H.I.T). With best regards Chubbchubb BOSS IN GENERAL SPECIAL HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING (B.I.G. S.H.I.T.) ....don't like my posting? call 1-800 E.A.T.S.H.I.T. -
What Was The Watch That First Caught Your Attention?
chubbchubb replied to crystalcranium's topic in General Discussion
Whow...I'm reading this... and I love it... and I realize.... I have no recollection of my first ever watch! Well, a couple of decades have passed since then but still - amazing - because I've been fascinated by watches as long as I can remember... .... I have to take a picture of that Lego watch I gave to my son yesterday.... -
fortunately I didn't know... until a couple of minutes ago.... .... as if no brains wasn't bad enough....
-
This is a very, very beautiful piece...wear it well. As for the strap: I like the color and texture, expecially for a big, vintage style watch like the Fiddy. I'm not sure about the sides of the strap though. Of course I'm aware that that is the hard part of do-it-yourself-strapping.... All in all: every reason to be a happy man....

A Free Christmas Present For All The Members Here.
chubbchubb replied to gioarmani's topic in The looney bin
:nopity: ... very nice mix... thank you for sharing & merry Christmas! -
Today it's the very first PAM rep I ever bought - my 196 Daylight. I haven't worn it for some time now, getting more addicted to the basic, Zen-designs of my 111H and my 183.... but it's got a Palp crown waiting to be installed and so here we go again...

How's a father supposed to save money for Xmas....

Currently this baby ... which has just come back from Repaustria...(Oliver is the man!)
-
yep....the obvious thing that cries......FAKE!!
-
...guys...if you read the post from start to finish (yeah ... I know ... who has time for that... ) you will realize that Neil hasn't made up his mind yet. Last word was that he decided not to carry the watch because it still had flaws (don't we all?). Maybe he'll change his mind, but who knows...

Your avatar is a JPG file - this format is not able to store moving images... try animated GIF if you want a video sequence to convert from video try something like "Video GIF/AVI ThumbCell Creater" ...use Google to find software ...and next time, post this in General Discussion rather than on someone else's watch-related threat...

YYYYEEEEESSSSS!
-
...well, not everyone likes to take a fake watch to a watchmaker....
-
we are all still waiting for the "perfect" replica - which might, or might never come.... in the meantime, I find the datewheel a definite improvement and one less "dead giveaway" .... I don't think it's that bad, Neil...

Is This The Dumbest Thing You've Ever Heard? Or Not?....
chubbchubb replied to a topic in General Discussion
Every time I sold or traded one of my gens I regretted that shortly thereafter. The biggest mistake in my collector life was to trade a gen redletter 1680 (before all the hype) for another watch. One month after that deal, I vowed not to sell any of my gens anymore... my advice...keep it! -
And they said that HOSTEL was scary.....
-
I'd wait in line for this one...(hi Nanuq!).... this is an out-of-the-ordinary watch and Sectors are quality watches. Not too expensive, mostly quartz driven but reliable and durable. I own two Sectors and apart from an energy refill every now and then, they have never failed me. While my heart is with mechanical watches, I have no religious problem with quartz watches and my Breitling B1 gen is getting a lot of wristtime.

Receive A Non-function Daytona Watch From A Forum Member
chubbchubb replied to dvn's topic in General Discussion
I've bought from this member on three occasions and all three transactions went smoothly and with excellent communication. I would be very surprised if he was out to scr@& you. Give him a little time...not everyone can and will be online and on the forum 24/7. Having said that - I think if you buy a watch advertised as working, you are entitled to one. Unless YOU choose to do so, you should not have to repair it yourself. Unless he advertised it as defective or told you explicitely that the risk of loss or defect in transportation is on you, he should find a way to fix this for you. One last thing: no matter what - a paypal dispute for a replica watch would be an absolutely stupid thing to do and notwithstanding your rightful demand for a functioning watch ...you can expect to get flamed for even suggesting this as an option... I doubt that anyone on this forum (or any of the others for this matter) would be on your side should you choose this route... -
This is what I've been wearing for most of the last two weeks... my PAM 183G with engraved swan-neck movement and a Rios 1931 Juchten strap
