  1. I believe all those cases will have the same SN, regardless of who you buy them from. No rep factory is going to waste time creating different serials for every sub.
  2. I've got about 10 bewtween here & another board. Anyone else?
  3. Nice, but could definitely use a little tweaking. I have a couple of our dealers interested & seeing what they can do to duplicate this effort. I'll leave them un-named for now, but here's a quote that might enable them to realize there is demand for this piece: Every dial print min is 100 pcs. Unless I am able to get at least 20 pcs of this complete watch order, it is really not worthwhile at my ends to make this watch. I'm definitely in. Any takers? Please reply here or PM me. Even though it's a special order, I might even be able to do it for $199+shipping.
  4. Cool--pics would be nice. The white on white dial with the powder-coated, black hands & white date is definitely my fav. I'm attempting to communicate with a few dealers/suppliers to see if they can take this dial... ...and simply print the Submariner info on it instead of the Explorer to make it like this:
  5. Pug--you rock; thank you. Matt paper though? Not glossy? So the finished should look something like this: Or like this: Maybe with the black, powder-coated hands form an Exp II?
  6. And here's some alterations--let's see which is the most popular among you gentlemen. White hands, black date: Black hands, black date: Black hands, white date: White hands, white date: I think I like the white hands with the white date. Tough choice though... you guys?
  7. Before I get too deep into this, I will say for posterity's sake I am posting this looking for expert advice, tips, ideas, etc; anything you can offer. All right, here's the rough "sketch" I cooked up (newb @ Photoshop CS, btw): To start, I found this tooling around on the bay: First thought is I could easily pop the pearl out of this insert and put in a standard one. To get the body to come together I've got a couple extra ss bands & an extra swissexpert sub case (needs the crown tube replaced--outer threads got pinched together), an extra 2836-2, but it's on a black dial... Hmmm...I guess the best place to start would be with the hardest. Would any one know how to create a white dial for a sub? Photoshop print on card-stock or glossy photo paper? Has anyone attempted this, or is it even possible? I'm also wondering if a black datewheel with white print for a 2836-2 even exists--or if it's even available in the correct font. And as for the hands & hour markers, I'm thinking regular size with the hands left lumed as-is & the hour markers painted-in black; maybe the larger ones (i.e LV Sub) would look too out of place that large in black. A weak representation/prediction of the real thing, I know, but I think if it's done properly, it could truly turn out to be a fantastic piece. Thoughts or suggestions?
  8. The Rolesor clasp does look dressier, indeed! I went with Andrew because I was under the impression there was no ss Rolesor--only in TT, WG, & FG. I could be mistaken though.
  9. Yeah, unfortunately that seems to be the issue. I got my local smith to disassemble it, ultrasonic clean it, lube it again, and reset the beat for $89--it'll take 1 week so I figured that wasn't too bad.
  10. I like their chrono-momento II. It's like AP meets Panerai; still has masculine styling, but with that "gentlemans touch" AP gives their banker's watches.
  11. Here's some more detailed pics of mine, if you're interested. I like the fact that the rehaut's engraving isn't filled in with paint--just like the gold gen--and the SELs are a perfect 3 piece; sharp & not carved. New (correct) shorter, oyster clasp & correct bi-directional bezel, not uni.
  12. Set it at 6:30pm, came back at 1am--already 7 minutes fast...off to the shop tomorrow...
  13. Thanks again RG. It's got to be over oiled then, unless it needs to be demagnetized possibly? Forgive my ignorance, but I'm not sure it's been in contact with anything magnetic--I'm still new to this. It's possible that I could have over-oiled it; it's not a wonderful thought to have sunk all this $ into tools, only to have to still pay another party to fix such a simple problem. I've moved the two (a& arms apart & it's still gained aprox 10-15 secs just in the past hour.
  14. Don't know if it makes any difference but the oil I used was J.D. Windle's watch oil from the UK.
  15. I actually did the oiling myself (which is where I was afraid I might have moved these arms one way or the other when piecing it back together), but I've done an oiling on 2 other ETA's & one Asian model with success. I'll definitely try what you suggest--not sure if it's proper or not but I'm comparing the timing of this watch to 3 of my ETA's which are almost exact to the second, and those to the digital clock on the iMac. If this doesn't seem to do the trick, I'm guessing your next suggestion would be to take to an actual watch-smith? Thanks again.
  16. I thought somebody would have jumped at this by now.
  17. I'm of the understanding that inside the red circle (in the pic below) is where the time can be adjusted up to +/- 5 secs a day, per the etched notches in this ladies Datejust 2671 ETA movement. My girl's datejust runs about a minute & 1/2 fast per day, so I did adjust that to the lowest "-" setting on the regulator (I believe that's what that particular part is called), and it's still running almost as fast; even after a lube job. I noticed that by comparison (in the second pic) in the 2836 ETA in my GMT II & Sub, that regulator part sits opposite in the movement (i.e., if you're looking at the movement with the crown facing north, in the ladies, the regulator points down with the + & -, and in the mens, it points up: If you also notice the two parts registered by red arrows--a & b ( I have no idea what they're called, but logic would suggest they also have something to do with beat/time regulation)--both are in view and closer together on the ladies model, where one is farther over & out of view on the mens model. Do the resident experts happen to know what these two parts are called, and what their purpose is, and more specifically how do I correct the excessive speed on the ladies model? Simply move them further apart? Thanks again for your time.
  18. Does the crown spin around & vomit pea-soup?
  19. Write Andrew--special order it that way.
  20. Andrew's got it in Eta--I got mine 2 months ago and love it. http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_p...products_id=605
  21. Lol--I'm sure spell check would do it--grammar check maybe (i.e. there, their, they're--your, you're--its, it's--except, accept--effect, affect, etc.
