Everyone has different reasons why they spend $$$$$$ thousands. I buy gen. parts as they come and build it slowly until everything that I have including the case is Gen. I had a yuki case before to be able to build and wear the watch. To each his own, Most of the people here have a life.

You said Gen Rolex movement, i am pressuming a 1570. Can you do a breakdown of parts and prices. Thanks

I bought a DW 1680 case before but was disappointed with the bezel not being gen. like construction and like what you said the caseback. As I said earlier my plans on this case is to put a gen. retaining ring, bezel and gen. caseback. Hopefully it will all fit.

Here's my 1680 with a yuki case in the picture. It is an older yuki case and have replaced it since. For the price, Over $2,000 with gen 1570, gen dial, gen. hands, gen. insert etc...... I have a 5512 project with the same specs as my 1680, I just bought a DW case and will try that for this project. I will only use his mid case as his bezel is not gen. like construction but the upside is his case will accept a gen. 1570.

Sorry for the late reply I was out of town. Personally I would go for a 9411 as you won't. have datewheel problems like the rolex subs. Here's a pic of my 9411.

I would suggest doing a franken. There are lots of gen cases with dial being sold at ebay. A lot of people buy them bec. of the movement. Put an eta and you have a perfect like gen. Watch. Goodluck

I have a yuki case right now. I also bought the more expensive phong case but ended up returning it. Still on the hunt on what case is best. Goodluck and let me know if you get a good batch. Wokkyness is the problem

Read my 9411 thread and don't. Think about phong's case too. I think they have the same source as he said he gets them from a supplier. Trust me i have the yuki case and returned an expensive phong case. Other cases are ok from phong not just the tudor case.
