Graphite Treatment Service for IWC Portuguese Chronograph
rower replied to simzger's topic in The IWC Area
I bought one and I found out that the treatment only helps the hour minute and seconds at six work. It does not, I repeat not, help the chrono work. The chrono on this movement is under powered and will stop the watch when engaged. There is no perfect IWC Portuguese. However, this treatment will allow the hour, minute and seconds at six to work and should help the mvement continue to work. -
I wonder if we could just order the new updated hands? Has anyone asked yet? Please post the answer in this thread.

Can Ziggy or someone else modd the AP Barrichello Plate
rower replied to a topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Can The Zigmeister do it? I hope that is a rhetorical question. The Zigmeister can do what Jack Bauer can't! (I've seen the pictures to prove it.) -
What do you think of my "Stealth" custom PAM 212?
rower replied to RWG Technical's topic in The Panerai Area
More proof that you are the MASTER! Is there anything you can't do? It looks incredible. However, to fully appreciate it you will need to send it to me. I will gladly provide my mailing address...heck, I'll even pop for postage. The more I see of your work the harder it is for me to figure out what to send you. -
I would like to ask you not to post any more pictures of this watch. I want it so bad that I am afraid I am breaking the 10th commandment...thou shall not covet!

B&R Blue Super Luminova application, close ups, in the daylight
rower replied to RWG Technical's topic in General Discussion
As you know I have several custom lume and several relume pieces that Kent has done. I have met Kent in person and have worked with him for many years. Let me settle this once and for all!..... The Zigmeister IS THE MASTER! All of my future work will be with The Zigmeister. End of Discussion. -
You are the Master of Lume! I just read a story in USA Today about Walmart and a few other companies that had bought over 500 exit signs with tritium for illumination that were being asked to turn them in for destruction (http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/retail/2009-02-17-walmart-loses-radioactive-signs_N.htm?loc=interstitialskip). Too bad you can't intercept them. That would give you enough tritium to last a while!

This one for me. This is my attempt at an "artsy" shot.

This one was the one that got me into watch collecting...I've had it since highschool: This was my dad's eight grade graduation gift from his grandfather. He gave it to me a few years ago.

I have a 1988.5 16800 Gen Sub that had also quit glowing a few years ago before I really started collecting or learning about watches. I took it to my authorized Rolex dealer in town and they gladly replaced the "T" (tritium) dial and hands that had quit glowing with superluminova dial and hands. It cost me an arm, a leg and then some to have this done. I asked them for the old dial back and they told me that Rolex will not give them the new dial without sending in the old dial. Now after learning more I am just sick that they got my T dial. I did get the bezel insert with lume dot and all the "T" hands back...but no dial. If I had it to do over again I would not have let them change the dial and hands. Like it is stated above, if you want a watch that glows get a different watch. If you absolutely have to make your gen glow then don't let anyone but The Zigmeister touch it. I have studied luming techniques till I felt like my brain was glowing and The Zigmeister is the master.

Great review. Now that it is getting colder out I get fewer cigars as there is no smoking in the house. I am tempted to install two bathroom fans in the unfinished side of the basement and make a cigar room for myself. My brother-in-law did that and it turned out quite nice. I get over to his place about 2-3x per month. Mainly, Rocky Patels.

Welcome home. What was your favorite meal while on vacation?

I got a BP from Josh and the AR on it just wiped off. When I contacted Josh he said I could return it but I'm afraid that the same thing would happen with the next one. I could send it out for AR but I haven't tried that yet. The quality control issues are so frustrating. I got a Breitling Skyland from Sead and I was very impressed...can't see even one quality control issue.

Enjoy your well deserved vacation!

Mine is listed as "Most Admired" by Bond fans the world over.

I love that watch. That watch was worn in The Recruit. Great movie and great watch. Thanks for sharing.

I just finished watching the Bourne trilogy again. Why can't they make this watch? It's quartz and would sell like crazy. I would by one and I know many others that would.

See you all in a month...take care everyone.
rower replied to RWG Technical's topic in General Discussion
Have a great trip. Just make sure you come back to all of your friends here! -
I tried to send the following by pm but it said it would not work so here goes... I have 5 Everest watches. I would be happy to try to take some macro shots. I have a Nikon Coolpix L12 wich is ok but not the greatest for macro shots. I have a friend that has a Nikon D80 with a macro lens. I can try to borrow that if he will let me and take some shots for you. How can I send the large jpg photos to you? I have met Kent in person. He is a great guy and a friend. By looking at your photos you are every bit as good as Kent if not better. Kent tends to be very slow...good but slow. He has done numerous custom dials for me but has asked me not to post photos of them. The dials take a lot of his time and are frustating for him. Thanks for all your posts and input on the forum. You are the best of the best. Some people work on reps, but you are an artist!

The pourpose on this watch is to display a secon time zone. Coordinated universal time is abbreviated UTC. This was formerly known as Greenwich mean time (GMT). Greenwich mean time was based upon the time at the zero degree meridian that crossed through Greenwich, England. GMT became a world time and date standard because it was used by Britain's Royal Navy and merchant fleet during the nineteenth century. Today, UTC uses precise atomic clocks, shortwave time signals, and satellites to ensure that UTC remains a reliable, accurate standard for scientific and navigational purposes. Despite the improvements in accuracy, however, the same principles used in GMT have been carried over into UTC. UTC uses a 24-hour system of time notation. "1:00 a.m." in UTC is expressed as 0100, pronounced "zero one hundred." Fifteen minutes after 0100 is expressed as 0115; thirty-eight minutes after 0100 is 0138 (usually pronounced "zero one thirty-eight"). The time one minute after 0159 is 0200. The time one minute after 1259 is 1300 (pronounced "thirteen hundred"). This continues until 2359. One minute later is 0000 ("zero hundred"), and the start of a new UTC day.
