  1. Probably inappropriate but this reminds me of a joke from many years ago... What do you call a Roman soldier with a pubic hair hanging out of his mouth.... a Glad-he-ate-her. (gladiator)
  2. When I try to access RepGeek it is showing that the account has been suspended buy the host. Does anyone have any news on this?
  3. Hawaiian Martini In a LARGE container mix the following: 1 very sweet fresh Pineapple cut into pieces 1 Liter of Skyy Vodka 1/2 Liter of Vanilla Vodka (Smirnoff) 1/2 Liter of Malibu Rum 1 cup simple syrup (more or less depending on the sweetness of the pineapple) Let it sit for a minimum of 5 days. I use a potato masher to mash and stir the pineapple every day. After the 5th day remove the pineapple. Throw it away as it will make you sick to eat it (they told me this but I didn't listen...I did get sick!). Put the liquid from above in a martini shaker and shake it till very cold. Serve in a martini glass with pineapple garnish. My wife doesn't like most martini's...after two of these she is ready for anything!...so I usually ask he if I can buy another watch. Don't laugh I now have over 50 watches.
  4. The first suggestion that comes to mind is that you shouldn't do it. If you thought it was a good idea to talk about ideas on an internet forum, it would probably be in your best interest not to try to "pull one over" on customs. Best bet...buy from tried and true dealers and other honorable forum members. On the other hand...if you do get some great deals on some incredible reps, let me know.
  5. My membership renewed on 1-19-08. I am trying to renew as a VIP and it is showing an error every time I try to hit the payment button. What am I doing wrong? I am trying to give the forum money...please help me do it! It is not showing any payment options. I then get the error of not selecting a payment option. Since my membership expired my mail box is now showing as full. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
  6. Comment...sure.... Rubber is always the safe way to go!
  7. Great project. Like you, I always wished there was a 45mm pilot. If you need help with the dial I know that Kent Parks at Everest Watchworks has the ability to make custom dials. He is also a true artist when it comes to lume.
  8. Jos- If it is Do-a-ble then show me pictures and I'll send you the funds! We are all waiting and have been waiting since this came out. You would be my hero! Black steel would be a huge plus in my book.
  9. I just closed the deal on TZ and I am getting a gen nylon strap for the first PVD BR03-92 that I got from ajoesmith! It was only $65 so I figured why not. The oly negative is that it is the stainless clasp. I will take pictures and post as soon as it arrives.
  10. I think they are worried that it would be considered...a Sinn! Here's a pic of my gen just for fun:
  11. I need to take a better picture, but here it is... I have since put a better insert into this watch. But the crown guard still suck.
  12. Blackbird and now this? You're killing me. What a great watch.
  13. In the winter I always change my bracelets to leather. However, I would have to agree this bracelet NEEDS to be on that watch. Thanks for sharing. I hate it when people share things like this. I always spend more money. Which makes my wife mad. Which in turn makes my nights very cold!
  14. Before you say it, I know it was a replacement crystal with a poorly placed cyclops. How many of us would put up with the gap in between the case an endpiece? Believe it or not with all the issues, Jeff Hess (Rolex expert from Florida with a great coffee table book to his name) estimated this watch at a minimum of $15,000!
  15. I got called for an expert opinion by a jeweler in my town. He does not handle very many watches and knows of my addiction. When I got there I was able to take this watch home over night. It is a first year President. The dial has been redone...poorly I might add. and the bracelet was added from many years later. The watch is from 1957 but the movement was from 1958. In checking with Rolex they said that this was a common thing back then. If the had a left over case they would just throw the current movement into it. All in all it was a lot of fun, but I am in no way an expert. I spent alot of time over at timezone with the real experts. They actually help me sound like I know what I was talking about. My jewler never purchased this watch from the estate. When they found out how much it was worth, they wanted to keep it. Enjoy.... This solid gold Cartier was in the same lot.
  16. Father forgive me, for I have Sinned!... I guess my biggest "Sinn" was not cleaning the crystal before snapping the shot. Will you forgive me if I add a movement shot?
  17. I hope they make it with the beefier case. Otherwise it will be an easy tell.
  18. Why don't you send it back to IWC to get the case refurbished? I have a gen sub and a local AD did the same kind of bad work on the case like it sounds they did on yours. I sent it to a Rolex service center and was amazed at how crisp the edges were and the polished parts were back to polished and the brushed back to brushed. I would send it to IWC and have them work on it.
  19. it is moving the rotar and is very hard to screw down. I can not hand wind the watch and it is only moving the rotar when being hand wound. Is there a problem with the movement...if so, is it an easy fix? I thought I've seen this before, but my search yeilded no responses. Thank you in advance for your response.
  20. I got so excited when I saw this post because I thought it was for sale. I was already to pull the trigger once I found the price. Unfortunately, it was not for sale. Probably a good thing as my wife would kill me for spending the money that is earmarked for Christmas on yet another watch. Yes, I am an adict...at least I can admit it. Thanks for sharing that beautiful watch.
  21. I just bought this prototype from Joe. WOW...am I impressed. It looks so much better in person than it did in the pictures. Joe was also great to deal with. I received the watch in the US without any problems. I will definitely have Joe do some additional watches for me. This is so much better than any of the "PVD" (painted) reps. I wish you could all have the opportunity to see it in person. It is really worth the extra money. Thanks again Joe. "Rower"
  22. I'll take one of each thank you very much. I would leave the first one on the bracelet and I would wear the second on a NATO strap.
  23. Thank you for helping me to say thank you. I love a good cigar and am working on a way to send a box of cigars to some deserving troops. "Rower"
  24. Joe- Please put me down for one. I really don't want to miss this. "Rower" I also want to let everyone know that I have purchased 2 other watches and various parts from Joe. I was blown away by both his quick responses and smooth transactions. If you buy from Joe you will be pleased!
