  1. More pics Compare with my current DW
  2. Before I provide details, I would like to get opinions from some of our senior vintage Rolex members (you know who you are) on this dial
  3. Assuming the hands are not loose on their tubes (a common problem with rep chronos - there are many threads detailing this issue & fixes), the hands were just installed incorrectly (another common problem with reps) & need to be removed/reinstalled.
  4. Wearing my 5514 today
  5. For vintage Rolexes, Kt 22. Not sure about current/modern models.
  6. As I said, 2 years & counting. They run 24/7, which is the point.
  7. Are they actually (1-piece) pillows or are they (2-piece) soft, inner pads with larger outer rings?
  8. You apply a tiny bit of loctite to the pusher's threads where they screw into the case. You do this with the movement out of the case.
  9. The problem with these reprints is that the images/details are poor & difficult to see. Scanning and converting 1 of these to PDF from may not result in a very usable reference. If you can locate an original service manual (you can tell an original because they have black & green print (not just black)), then that would be worth scanning.
  10. The pushers are probably just not properly snugged-up in the case (do not over-tighten or they could shear off). Loctite is semi-permanent glue/cement. Most auto parts & hardware stores sell it. If you cannot find it, auto gasket sealer, nail polish or rubber glue will do the job.
  11. Ditto. If they fit the case & function, I would leave them alone & concentrate on something else.
  12. (Assuming the branding on this 'work of art' is a 1:1 accurate representation of the real thing) According to Rolex lawyers (which the US, UK & many other countries' governments rarely disagree with), no. It would not be legal. The words 'copyright infringement' would likely appear within the 1st paragraph of their legal writ against the creator. On the other hand, had you specified another brand or name (other than Rolex/Tudor, etc), then the answer might be different. For reference, the Campbell's soup company lodged several suits against the artist, Andy Warhol, for his soup can prints. If I remember correctly, because the depictions were graphic representations of Campbell's brand image (& not exact duplications of it), the courts held that there had been no real infringement &, so, Campbells could not claim damages & Warhol was allowed to make & sell his work (without having to pay to use the Campbell's images). Such would probably not be the case for the premise you cited.
  13. Ending the work week with 2 time zones
  14. Definitely. Very luxurious & they keep watches well protected.
  15. That watch is referenced in someone's Rolex book, so I believe such a (gen) watch does exist. Additionally, Antiquorum is usually pretty good about authenticating watches, so I think it is safe to assume this 1 is the real deal. The watch has been commented on in TZ since at least since 2004 here & here.
  16. Ubi - I think this may be the best pic of your watch. I love the way the polished metal details sparkle without making the watch look real blingy. Wearing Phase 1 today
  17. I have 2 of these (from Orbita)
  18. Wearing my O-PD today
  19. I always thought Rolex made a big mistake by waiting so long to release their larger watches & thus missing the crest of the big watch craze in the early 00s. I agree. I got my 1st TT DJ (& Armani suit) in the mid-80s at the behest of my then girlfriend, who was in love with the David Addison character played by Bruce Willis in the Moonlighting tv series. Product placement, even when unintentional, can be very profitable.
  20. Unless someone has a pre-release bootleg copy, we will not know until the movie is released on the 27th. But, in the series, he often wore a TT DJ with (I think) a white dial & stick markers. The close-up I posted above is from the trailer, which is obviously a steel DJ. My guess, since the SATC writers & producers are famous for following cutting-edge fashion trends very closely, is that they decided to tone down Big's watch to bring it more into line with today's smaller, more understated mens' watches.
  21. Great pic. Today, I am following Mr. Big's lead (top down, but with different models & sans the inscription)
  22. I am pretty sure that Andrew or Josh (possibly other sellers) will custom make a DJ to your specs.
  23. Starting the work week wearing my O-PD
