  6. This is the 1st of a number of old threads I will be bumping for those who may not have seen some of the more technical articles that RWG is famous for.
  7. Well done.
  8. 'Swatch Group is believed to be lumbered with a huge excess of movements in light of the downturn of the Swiss watch industry and the resulting decrease in demand for such movements. Plus watch brands around the world had already been seeking alternatives to ETA after the 2013 deal with Weko was announced, or in some cases actually developing their own movement production capacities. Subsequently, Swatch Group is keen to sell off its excess supply of stock, which is why it has opened up discussions with Weko again.' ETA hopes for leeway on phasing out of movement supply
  9. You may be pleased to hear that I read in a recent copy of WatchTime that, due to slowing global sales, ETA has reversed its 'No parts to 3rd-parties' policy & begun shipping limited numbers of parts to old customers who had previously been cut-off. Supply & demand..........the cure that works.
  10. I have a handful of friends in Paris as well as Britain & Germany & they are all telling me that the EU is close to having a full-scale mutiny on its hands if their governments do not take immediate & decisive actions against these Islamic groups. & that does not mean importing still more of them! Unfortunately, I believe most of the problem lies with President Obama's willful ignorance or questionable allegiance (ie, who's side is he on??).
  11. I am sorry to say that until/unless the west acknowledges that a large portion of Islam is at war with it & we drop the political correctness & react accordingly, these things will continue as they have throughout history until the victims take up arms and fight fire with fire. Sometimes, you have to fight for peace.
  12. This is looking worse by the minute. There are additional sites of shootings now. If you are in the city of Munich....... U.S. Consulate in Munich: Shelter in place
  13. SECOND shooting in Munich as gunman opens fire at Metro station "We do not know where the suspects are. Stay away from public places." - Munich police.
  14. Deaths reported in Munich shopping centre shooting
  15. Nice to post in a Ubi-started wristies! Wearing 1 of my Subs today
  16. Nice article, but the author missed 2 minor details - most people who see a Rolex either do not like Rolexes, so they say nothing, or do like Rolexes & are too embarrassed to acknowledge that they cannot afford to own 1. Or, considering the author normally wears a $60 Seiko he bought on Amazon, people think it is a cheap fake & simply think he is a wanker.
  17. Wearing my beater today
  18. Other than the service dial, which is still both highly collectible & valuable, I do not see the fly in Bikoff's ointment? Further, Dowling, who I know to be an honest, knowledgeable & reliable collector, was 100% accurate in his description of the 6538 in question - ' The dial is an original factory replacement one, as supplied by Rolex from the mid 1970s, it is identical to the original one except that it is a matt finish, not gloss and all the text is in silver, as distinct from the gilt/silver mix of the original. But, like the original, it has the outer minute circle and the 200m = 660ft marking.' It sounds like Bikoff was either less than honest in HIS sales description or he received some very bad guidance along the way. As for Dowling being an RWG member, I highly doubt it. But I believe he has perused our pages on multiple occasions.
  19. All nice, but that 1st 1 is outstanding.
  20. Ofrei's 61.701 pushers are what I always use for 62xx non-Oyster Daytonas. Depending on your particular case (all rep/aftermarket case threading varies), you may need to tap the existing hole to make them fit properly or you may need to go 1 step larger in thread size if the existing hole is too large. In my experience, that is just the nature of non-genuine Rolex cases.
  21. Buyer beware, especially with Rolex.
  22. Wearing my DRSD beater today
  23. I normally do not like artificially (over) aged Subs, but this 1 just works. Kudos Slay!
  24. The watch is a beauty, but that sky...............
  25. Is everyone asleep today? Still wearing my beater
