Jkay's watch is 95% the same as mine! The only difference is crystal and tube Same parts and case mods from same Master S!
Wait till you see it in person Jkay! in your hand.. it looks even better if you can believe that. S's pictures are as good as it gets no doubt beautiful....but in real life that watch is even more amazing
Congrats again on that killer Seadweller!
Where is this place?
@J
This is a very nice watch and gift, that dial rocks !
I loaned the small linen dialed Tudor you made me last year to one of my girlfriends. She has not taken it off!
She says she gets compliments on it everywhere she goes, even gettin her nails done
I see what your saying now
He's used some kind if midlink S loop connector, sort of what the old rivet's use.
Unusual combo of parts and a lot of work. Maybe he lucked onto the parts and decided to make use of them.
So what's your plan now if it's got 19mm end pieces?
There are almost always several of these clasps for sale on VRM.
Here's one from today:
http://www.network54.com/Forum/207673/message/1337313048/FS+Rolex+20mm+Bracelet+parts+93150+Buckle%2C280+end%2C7836
"71N is 19mm a 93250 is 20mm correct?"
correct
"Or is it also possible that the case has 19mm lug width?"
I don't know of any sub that is not 20mm at the lugs.
Also, it would be a ton of work for him to take the sel's off of the 93250..and figure a way to make the open endlinks attach to that.
I still think you have been given the wrong numbers. Anything can be done of course, but why? There are just so many simple and inexpensive solutions.
Awesome Frogster,
For bezel tightening, there is none better than Jmb...he rocks the tight bezel, and has thousands of satisfied former loose bezel owners.
I know, I was once a loose bezel owner.
Keep looking daily. Seems like every 3-4 weeks four or five old MBW's come up for sale on one of three forums.
The last one I bought took about that long.
@Frogman
I might have to try Pbad for some aging on one of my watches. Yours is beautiful!
Yeah...ha ha.
What would have been the difference?
I have the gen and the rep. They weigh the same, in fact..other than the fit/finish and quality of markings there really isn't much difference.
No offense, but you have posted this same question on repgeek and , and now here... and were given the same answers, what's the point of asking if you don't want to learn?
Pheww!!!
You know you can't just throw out a pretty watch like that and leave us hanging!
Very nice piece, I didn't think it was cartel, I thought MBW. Looks really good.
1680 style is the only one I've never owned or built. I did wear a gen for a couple days on loan from a friend of mine.
Before that experience I stayed away because I just didn't care for the crystal. The whole Top Hat thing looked goofy to me.
After wearing my friends, I changed my mind! I have been thinking of building one sometime.
Congrats on your fine watch! Nice parts selection, and Pbad did a fine job.. looks very gen
As the kids say...wear it in good health!
Don't forget the crown. Josh's crown is the worst thing about that watch.
It's worse than the small crown gards. I think some members were able to grind theirs down.
A gen 703 crown will only cost 60$ or so and Clark's tube for 17$. Or at least find a shorter rep crown.
There is a terrific giant thread on this very watch from last year. It's called something like: "Josh's 5513 is really nice"
It's about ten pages long and all kinds of us contributed with all kinds of mods and discoveries of things that worked and didn't.
That thread alone probably sold a few hundred watches for Josh lol. Sorry I don't have a link. But if you find it that's a worthwhile read and will be helpful to you with your build.
