  1. Good, Although you might feel attacked, most of the previous were actually trying to help. The first thing to do when a private sale goes wrong is to alert the moderators. They have the power to make life miserable for the seller in various ways As I said, we are dealing with somewhat nefarious items. If we involve PayPal it could turn into the same situation as guns. PayPal is anti and will make your life hell if you get caught selling guns through them. Most of our dealers that use PayPal really need it and if they get banned from PayPal it could get really inconvenient buying reps. We also don't wear our reps into AD's for similar reasons.. we are trying to enjoy our hobby by staying under the radar. Anyway...get those mods on it and see what they can do. Hopefully they can help get this resolved. Welcome to the forum, there's tons of info here, in fact there's more real knowledge here than anywhere else...and lots of great members
  2. Bell, Sorry your in this situation, But there may still be help for you. The first thing to do when you have a problem with a sale is to contact the moderators at the forum you bought the watch. That's number one. Before you post about an issue contact the mods. They have the ability to pressure the seller and often get good results. Never involve Paypal unless the mods tell you to. No one wants undo attention to our hobby. We are dealing in grey area items and in some cases illegal. We are not dealing in common products like a turbo. Having said that, your seller is a noob with recent join date and low post count in a foreign country, that in itself is risky. He does have 4 or 5 positive feedbacks, but I would have passed. He has been online on the forum yesterday and today..that's a good thing and the mods will be able to find him since he seems to be ignoring you. So contact them, present your case and see what they can do. you might get a pleasant surprise. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
  3. Ephry, You know this watch? Gen bezel construction? 26mm dials fit? Like josh 5513 but better CG's?
  4. Sneed might know, he sold a noob GMT here recently.
  5. Not familar with GS, but the more I look at yours the more it looks like the Clark medium. That's a pretty expensive crystal, like 70-75$ as I recall. See if you can find it on eBay and take a look. I have a Clark T19 in one of my subs and you'd be hard pressed to see a difference in clarity compared to the other gen T19's. I do think the gens are harder to scratch though.
  6. The insert looks gen, if it isn't and that's a yuki/ Ofrei pearl...awesome lumi job.
  7. Hmmm. I have a gen service T39 on mine. I don't have the same bevel your crystal has. I got mine from Mark Greenberg in Rolex packaging. I'm not saying yours isn't, just not seen one like that. Beautiful dweller you've got
  8. That's a really cool chrono, you can pick them up 2-2500$ second hand at WUS. O&W make a copy of it also that can be had in the 8-1000$ range. I've always liked this watch But no.... no reps of these.
  9. I'd still like to see the original sales ad. I'm thinking op bought the watch from another country and the seller covered himself. Op probably agreed to those terms and now it's sour grapes. I hate to see anyone lose a watch and I feel sorry when it happens. I got burned on a deal awhile back, but I did my homework first and knew the seller was a stand up guy. In the end we split it, he was a good guy. I hope Op can get some resolve and not be put off by this experience.
  10. How can you find the correct movement? The tissot prs 516 are all over eBay and many are quarts models.
  11. Yeah..on second look, not what I thought it was.
  12. Bill, why don't you just do it over time? sell a couple, then after you have a little time..sell a couple more. Just take your time and do it when you can do it. Btw.... friend of Dr Bob's?
  13. Crystal looks like a T39. C'mon Map! What are the specs of this beauty?
  14. Can you give us a link to the original sale?
  15. KB, I understand what your saying and I believe you 100%. What I'm referring to is these buyers behavior. It's over the top illogical and just plain immature and rude. You buy a copy of anything for a quarter of the cost, why would you expect 100% the same quality and features? Then...unhappy and knowing its against the code and ethics of the board...you decide to file a claim with PayPal over a few bucks. Ruining commerce for the rest of us? I just don't understand people like this. What Ronin mentioned.. a vetting process..is a good idea. Maybe a form they read, a disclaimer they sign before they buy.
  16. What's up with rep goods anyway? I see the same kind of issues on other boards too. I don't see near as many problems with watches as opposed to rep bags and clothing. Sure, a new guy buys a cheaper PO and it falls apart and he's unhappy, but overall mostly I see happy watch buyers. Maybe it's a different mindset. I love watches and horology. I have loved them since I was a little kid. I don't love fashion. I like fashion sometimes, but overall it's not important. I get a huge kick out of a tiny precision machine strapped to my wrist. I think about the engineering and the machining that went into it. I think about the assembly and the designers that came up with it. It's all just amazing and fun to me. I also buy, wear and mod watches I can afford pretty much. Not in every case, but overall I can afford a gen Rolex, in fact I have own several and still own a couple. I don't know anyone that buys designer handbags, but the motive and interest in those things has got to come from a different place than most watch enthusiasts. Sorry your having troubles. And the idiots that file PayPal disputes.. your idiots!
  17. I love the Tudor brand.
  18. Yes...yet another cool watch from the king of Tudor's! That's really interesting about the history J, I guess that skool lernin paid off (now get out the polywatch and go to town on that thing! )
  19. Like Jmb..I would have been toast early on. Very informative and inspiring Hike! Thanks for all these pictures and sharing your adventure!
  20. Wow Ubi! Wow M!!
  21. I can't imagine ANY issue with domestic flights. Tsa is not involved with copyrights. Some places around the world do enforce laws about copyrights and reps, but flying in the US....what would be the issue? The only thing I can think of would be the extra metal detected and getting a second look from Tsa. But not anything to do with reps.
  22. I need to lume the pearl, the lume kinda fell out while installing.
  23. I wish they made a rep of the 42mm version, this size is too big for me. These are my favorite Breitlings, just beautiful watches. You guys have taken the rep to a whole other level.
