There's something to be said for small engines and lightweight vehicles. My departed friend and race mechanic built FEROCIOUS racing motorcycles, mine included. But when we went riding in the twisty roads, he made me swear I would not try to keep up with him. He rode a 400 Super Hawk Honda and he would eat me alive between point-A and point-B. His secret? Never slow down for corners.

Flights headed toward Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport today will likely be using procedures and waypoints that commemorate the victims of 9/11 and honor U.S. soldiers who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Aircraft flying in from the northwest will use the FRDMM arrival, which will take them over waypoints “WEEEE,” “WLLLL,” “NEVVR,” “FORGT” and “SEP11.” Flights from the southwest, will use the TRUPS arrival and cross waypoints “USAAY,” “WEEDU,” “SUPRT,” “OOURR” and “TRUPS.” Depending on the runway configuration, aircraft might pass through waypoints named “STAND” and “TOGETHER,” or “LETZZ,” “RLLLL,” “VCTRY” and “HEROO.” The procedures are part of the FAA's Metroplex initiative, which is creating satellite-based procedures to bring greater efficiency to the airspace over several metropolitan areas around the country. You know what's really great, how Ziggy was able to resurrect the band and make it look sooooooooo good. A gilt '66 ranks right up there with a Chevy Belaire. Iconic!

IIRC the Zigmeister is on extended leave. Others have done this... if fact someone here made a HE valve from scratch. Do a search and I bet he can do yours too.

I still think about that Saturday morning when it popped up for sale at that crazy low price. I had already composed the near-hysterical FOR THE LOVE OF GOD I'LL TAKE IT!!!!! message when I saw you looking at it too. I quietly deleted my message, and I'm glad you own it now. You dirtbag!

I use an abrasive paste called Flitz. I work it into all the joints, then I hold a "twist" along the length of the band, and flex the links. I make sure each link gets a little exercise. Twist it the other way and flex it some more. It works fast so be careful. It will also quickly remove the brushed finish from the band if you're not careful. The longer you do this the more "vintage" it becomes. In an hour it's easy to recreate a thrashed, floppy old vintage tinny band. When it's lumbered up, clean it thoroughly with soap and water and use White Lightning to lube it.
