  1. My advice is to get a t-19 domed crystal. It lets you keep your date window (though you have to squint to read it) and at a quick glance the watch looks like a no-date Sub. The best of both worlds! Here's a 2824 with gen t-125 crystal: Here's the same watch with a t-19:
  2. Whaaaaaaaaaaa...?? $262 and you're out? Where's the Samurai spirit?! We have a saying here... GO BIG, OR GO HOME. So what's it gonna be? Man or Mouse?
  3. BEAUTIFUL result! Can you list the parts you used to arrive at this?
  4. Gran! Wash your mouth out with soap Akvavit!
  5. WAAHHHOOOOOOOO!!!! Boston! Boston! Boston!
  6. My hero, when I was a mere lad. I learned to play hockey because of Orr. I predict closer than 4-1 in regulation... let's say 3-2 Boston.
  7. Good luck! Let me know when your package arrives.
  8. Wooooooo, Pizz ... that's some major smack. Whatcha got?
  9. "Rough, rough life"??? That baby is pristine!
  10. I wonder how long this would last if it got posted over on WUS....
  11. Ahhhhhhh, a new fund raising opportunity for RWG! COMING SOON, GLADIATOR WARS! Watch in breathless anticipation as senior RWG members face off over a Doxa Conquistador! This no-holds-barred event will be bloody, vicious, and presented worlwide in Simulcast. Who will win? "Rowdy" Ronin, with his dreaded blades of steel? Or the dreaded Pugnacious Pizzanooo with his Mustache from Hell? Tickets are available at the door, or in advance at Easy Joe's Pawn Emporium. Watch this space for upcoming events on the RWG Mayhem Channel!
  12. I think it was about a year ago that a Conq came up for sale, and there were zero bids at $4,000.
  13. Hi Gregor, the best thing is to use the search. There is lots of good information here, and you will find many pictures, from new watches to completed "franken-watch" projects. Welcome!
  14. UPDATE: I can now identify ten Black Lungs worldwide. Amazingly enough, here in our little corner of the watch world live 40% of the global population. The number has taken a sudden jump upward because John Vargas recently posted on WUS and named his collection; I was told years ago that he still has one. It turns out he kept THREE of them when they were being sent out to dive shops as prototypes. LilRedDivingHood has two now, so there's 5. Brian on WUS bought this one, and our 4 make ten. Rare indeed.
  15. Huh? That crown has lots of life left, as do the crown guards. Look closely at other details and guess what kind of life this one has lived.
  16. Indeed! Now let's go for the hat trick. Hey now, you're not one of those dirty dogs rooting for Vancouver, are ya? GOOOOO BOSTON!!!
  17. Good questions, do lots of searching here, there are dozens of topics about it. You've got COSC performance already, good job!
  18. You can see some Yuki hands that I tinted here:
  19. Merci René, d'accord, c'est du début des années 70, tout le reste est d'origine.
  20. Hmmmmm, I guess first impressions can be wrong, I thought she was a LOT bigger caliber than that little pea shooter .22 .40 or .45 perhaps? Maybe even Magnum.
  21. Hi Freddy, I have a 2824 in my Snowflake and it's wearing Yuki hands. They look pretty good.
  22. Nice, R! Keep your eyes peeled on your mailbox.
