  1. I just know what this is going to do to my server, but... here's a little reference I put together for shots from different angles. Have mercy on my hard drives please! 1665 reference
  2. Here are some photos of a gen, enjoy!
  3. Okay gents, what is wrong with this movement, from a cursory examination?

    The piper

As a bagpiper, I play many gigs. Recently I was asked by a funeral director to play at a grave-side service for a homeless man. He had no family or friends, so the service was to be at a pauper's cemetery in the Kentucky back-country. As I was not familiar with the backwoods, I got lost; and being a typical man, I didn't stop for directions. I finally arrived an hour late and saw the funeral guy had evidently gone and the hearse was nowhere in sight. There were only the diggers and crew left and they were eating lunch. I felt badly and apologized to the men for being late. I went to the side of the grave and looked down and the vault lid was already in place. I didn't know what else to do, so I started to play. The workers put down their lunches and began to gather around. I played out my heart and soul for this man with no family and friends. I played like I've never played before for this homeless man. And as I played 'Amazing Grace,' the workers began to weep. They wept, I wept, we all wept together. When I finished I packed up my bagpipes and started for my car. Though my head hung low my heart was full. As I was opening the door to my car, I heard one of the workers say, "I ain't never seen nothin' like that before, and I've been putting in septic tanks for twenty years."
  5. My nephew's hockey team, the Alaska All-Stars, won the state championships, then beat the LA Jr. Kings for the Pacific Division championship, on my nephew's overtime goal. Now they're off to Nationals! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ALL-STARS!!!!!!!!! Here's my nephew in this photo Alaska All-Stars
  6. "A choice"??? "THE choice!" Om dere lurer p
  7. Texas is too big? Pfffffffffffft. Watch out or we will cut Alaska in half and make Texas the third largest state! Time to go change my vote from "Go to Nome" to ALASKA!
  8. Erhm, you know what they call an "honorary Norwegian"? A Swede. (ducking)
  9. Lena decided that she and Ole needed a bit of culture so she bought tickets to the ballet. That evening, after watching the performance for about thirty minutes, Ole leaned over to Lena and whispered in her ear, "I don't see why they dance on their toes. Why don't they just get taller dancers?"
  10. Ha det Gunnar! I voted to send you to Nome.
  11. A beauty indeed... the really neat part is, a silver Doxa is a Searambler, and a Sharkhunter is a black dialed Doxa. So a SILVER SHARKHUNTER is unheard of. Lani? It's a USD dial too.
  12. Item #380217086007 Dont miss this one!
  13. Right now there's an extremely rare SILVER Sharkhunter Doxa SUB 300T on the 'Bay! Details to follow....
  14. Wonderful writeup, R! Curiously, the fat font insert on my 1665 hasn't faded at all, while the dial is all yummy and chocolate from age.
  15. Yeah unfortunately it's tiny. Look at the case size relative to the 20mm bracelet. It would sure like nice on the ever-delectable Ms Nanuq though...
  16. Quick, someone buy this ... please ... before I do! I wrote the seller, he says the watch will come complete and assembled, but not pressure tested. Jenny Caribbean $599 BIN.
  17. I've heard stories of COMEX divers' ability to withstand extremely long dive durations. Would this be the watch they use for those dives?
  18. Nicely done. Now what is the difference between your #5 and #7?
  19. Sure thing, take a look here.
  20. If nothing else, check out Yuki's non-sprung riveted oyster. If you can sort the end links you'll like how it looks on the 1675. Personally I'm waiting for Yuki to make the folded oyster he's mentioned.
  21. Now that's a complete collection! The only one in that group that I'd give Ken's left nut for is top row, 3rd from the right. The ever so lovely SUB 300 (no "T") SeaRambler. Okay, pop quiz: how many of these Doxas can anyone name? GO! I'll start. Bottom row, left end: SUB 250 Pro.

    Stiff Bezel

#1 Make sure the spring is not on upside down. The gen is slightly "dished" and it has to be on with the dish open downward to match the contour of the retaining ring's upper edge. #2 Make sure the spring is completely down around the retaining ring, and not interfering in the gap between bezel and ring. On my 1665s it is easy to get it wrong so it's CRAZY hard to turn. When I get the spring down around the ring correctly, the bezel snaps on better and spins nicely. #3 Not to contradict JAG, but I make sure my spring is bent at the 12:00, 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00 positions. Then I have to push down to turn the bezel. Note, this makes it much harder to get the spring in place correctly (see #2) as I snap the bezel on.
