Ah, my young and impressionable Delta ... such an innocent youth, a beardless man-child still wet behind the ears. Some day you'll understand that the best things in life are well aged. *Cough* You'll notice I said well aged. Some things are just old. Like your girlfriend.

The Lone Ranger and Tonto went camping in the desert. After they got their tent all set up, both men fell sound asleep. Some hours later, Tonto wakes the Lone Ranger and says, 'Kemo Sabe, look towards sky, what you see? ' 'The Lone Ranger replies, 'I see millions of stars.' 'What that tell you?' asked Tonto. The Lone Ranger ponders for a minute then says, 'Astronomically speaking, it tells me there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo. Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past four in the morning. Theologically, the Lord is all-powerful and we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. What does it tell you, Tonto?' 'You dumber than buffalo chip, Kemo Sabe. It mean someone stole the tent.'

We all know Delta's taste is confined solely to his mouth... That being said, I still vote for a black "lume" dot on the inner ring. The only Doxa I've ever seen, here or "over there," with lume in that dot is a SUB 600 Spirotechnique. I know the certification manual for the "dive watch specification" requires the ability to time a dive in complete darkness, and that demands a glowing lume dot on the bezel. But face it, these watches were made when men were men and sheep were scared. Lume dots? We don't need no stinking lume dots! So I say leave it black, and yer Uncle Doxa in Alaska will bear the "black dot" standard with you. As delivered from the factory, with "minor wear"

I believe for 1970 yours should be non-quickset movement. There was a break right around 1970/71 -ish where it changed.

Spectacular! Keep it just as it is.

Ah, it's nice to see you around again. Welcome back! Do you remember the day we officially announced this forum over on the original/dying RWG? We all decided to *GO* at the same time (Zulu) and when the clock struck, we posted a bazillion invitation/announcements to the general population that we had recovered a lot of the dying RWG content, created a stable set of databases on a solid server, and we were up and ready to take on as many RWG members as wanted to come on over. It was a heck of a day... we must have registered well over a thousand new members that first day. A bunch of the mods here copied and pasted their own material directly from the dying box to our new forums (fora?) and really went the extra mile to help people see that it was the same forum, on a new/stable platform, with Admin that was alive and involved. Those guys really deserve the credit for the hard work to keep the continuity and flavor of the forum alive. And extra kudos to T for the ever-loved Christmas skin!

If this broken wrist isn't just SCREAMING for a reply by CrazySaleMan, I don't know what is! Here's the solution to your problem:

Wow, she's a beauty! What a nice addition. Let's see some "after" photos when you've touched up that bezel... but for now? Wow!

Today it's this rusty old hunk of tin for me.

"If you call a tail a leg, how many legs has a dog? Five? No, four. Calling a tail a leg doesn't make it a leg." - Abraham Lincoln In the same way, putting the name "Rolex" on this does not make it a Rolex. It is a replica, no better than similar to the real thing, even if it contains some real parts. In the same way, putting the name "RWG" on a website does not make it the "real" RWG if it is no more than a replica. Even if it contains some "real" parts. What is a "Guide?" It is a repository of information, directed by persons tasked with maintaining its integrity. Where is this large repository? Here. Where are the persons tasked with maintaining that repository? Here. I submit the "Guide" is here.

Well said, and thanks for putting this out there. If we pride ourselves on being a Band of Brothers, then this goes with the territory. A brother worth his salt would be ready and willing to kick you in the backside and make you go get your annuals. I'd like to add, you can never get enough cardio exercize, as well. My closest friend, same age as me, dropped dead of a heart attack a few weeks ago. Skip the elevator, take the stairs. Park on the far side of the parking lot and walk. Find ways to add exercize to the small things in your life. Try to work up a good 15 minute sweat twice a day. The life you save... may be yours.

What was I thinking?! By-Tor does AMAZING work with his Tube-O-Goo lume jobs. *smacks self in forehead* Next time, my friend.

True, dat. Radium is the (banned) bad stuff.

When I got my 6536 it had REALLY nasty green lume glopped on the dial. I sent it to Ziggy for a much needed servicing, and asked if he could make the dial look original again. So here are some photos, "before" and "after". It can be done but there are very few people I would consider letting try. Before After Closeup

Thank you for your business, FijiKid! As an added bonus I'll ensure that Uma parades around in front of the webcam once in awhile wearing her sealskin thong. You just can't get service like this anyplace else! In today's photo you'll just have to take my word for it... she was having an apparel issue. But you can see the webcam is up and operational... it's DAYTIME right now, cha-ching!

I have decided to open an internet start-up business. For an annual $39.95 subscription you will gain access to Nanuq's Best White Rock Webcam. I will strategically place a big dang white rock outside the Mountain House, then point a webcam at it. If the rock is white, it's daytime. If the rock is black, it's nighttime. If the rock is gone, the wind is blowing (super duper FREE option available only if you sign up today! ) Just think of the savings! Sign up today!

Perhaps a Fortis Marinemaster? She's a chunky one for sure. -
My gosh, that's not from an airman, it's from an alien! That "O" in "MOM" is a DIRT CIRCLE!
-
Simple... their number system over there is base-6 so log678 is about 2. Two revolutions of the dial in 24 hours. See? Or it could just be their quality control sucks.

Y'know, if they strapped another DSSD on the other wrist they could do away with the weights altogether... Buoyancy compensators? We don't need no stinking buoyancy compensators!
