  1. Thanks by-tor, i didn't realize there was a 'reduced' version. The $1 NR auction and what i thought was incorrect subdial spacing made me think they were fake.
  2. Looking at Speedmasters and this guy seems to be selling a lot of reps, the subdial spacing looks all wrong to me http://cgi.ebay.com/Omega-Speedmaster-Auto...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Omega-Speedmaster-Auto...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/OMEGA-Speedmaster-Auto...1QQcmdZViewItem but this one looks legit? http://cgi.ebay.com/NR-1-Nice-OMEGA-Speedm...1QQcmdZViewItem What say the experts? There are alot of bids on these watches.
  3. I'm gonna go with no, HE valve looks off.
  4. I'm hoping this is Kimi's year. If he has a car that will finish a race, I think he'll certainly challenge Emonso for the WDC.
  5. does anyone read the FAQs on message boards anymore?
  6. My sentiments exactly. I haven't heard of many problems actually with the 3,6,9 modified 7750, but I'm with you - the less modifications the better. Plus you get the sunken date wheel because of the extra gears. My choice would be the blue dial 12,9,6. Oh, and I just put a BOB strap on my Breitling GT, and for the money I think it looks great! BOB is listed in the dealer section. crappy cell pic
  7. I think i've read here previously that a lot of them are sold in China actually. I remember someone mentioning that almost everyone there has a rep of a high end watch, so that the people wearing gens are in the minority.
  8. Crappy cell phone pic. Wearing my Breitling GT on bob leather strap
  9. Thanks Ken. I'm sure when sometime soon I'll be looking to get another bag for the wife, but right now it's ME time
  10. Ok, i'm back to Omega again. Been poking around online and after looking at the speedmaster yesterday, I really really like the Speedmaster GMT. I may have to head into SF and see if i can track one down to look at
  11. Unfortunately, there are no good ones.
  12. there's an old saying man "Don't [censored] where you sleep"
  13. i shower with mine on, but i haven't tested it submersed yet. do a search on testing for water resistance, there are a few tests you can do with a glass of water.
  14. Wow, more great info to mull over, thanks guys. I headed out to Davidsen and Licht in Walnut Creek tonight and poked around. Looked at a Pam 176 on brown croc strap which was quite stunning. Also looked at the Omega Moon watch - a bit out of my range but the guy insisted I look at it. Also tried on a PO 45mm on brown croc strap which pulled the orange bezel pretty well actually. Then a SMP GMT which i really liked. All of these were great looking, but i just can't see paying retail for any when I could find them second hand and get a good deal. Also as mentioned above, for this price range I could look at the JLC or other brand with a more interesting movement. PS, the PAM 176 was priced at $4400, i'm sure I could find one second hand for cheaper than that over at Paneristi. Also, I wore my Breitling Bently GT from Eddie on black leather strap, guy didn't blink and eye and complemented me on it LOL
  15. Is that a Gen? My 088 rep doesn't have the tiny tick on the dial at 9 next to the running seconds sub dial.
  16. Yeah, i never did list my budget did I. I'm trying to keep to no more than 4-4500US (and that would be pushing a bit I think) I don't really care to say I spent that much, more that I got a watch that i will enjoy.
  17. I prefer the look of the TT, but i don't think i'd get one as i don't wear suits nearly often enough to pull it off, and to me, a TT sub is not a watch for daily wear.
  18. to quote another message board i'm on "Pics first, then post"
  19. Thanks for all the replies and input guys. I stopped at Barrons in Newark Mall today - they had a limited selection of Omegas. They did have one orange bezel rubber strap 45mm PO, which i loved - except for the rubber strap. I like the look but just not on my wrist. Also looked at a Speedmaster on a tan crock leather deployant - i actually like that better. The Salesman suggested I call around before going anywhere to look at a Panerai - he said most of the time they're sold as soon as they arrive at the dealers? Think Shreve would have any? I'm going to head up north tomorrow night I think (maybe call first) and try to look at some PAMs, or maybe I'll just venture into SF and go to Shreve. I'm still thinking of looking for something that I can't get as a rep.
  20. No pics, camera still MIA. Wearing my PAM 127 today on MF Strap.
  21. Course, now that i'm poking around online looking at Omegas and PAMs, I started thinking...maybe I should get something that isn't repped yet? Like a Ulysse Nardin? This may take longer than I thought to pick something out.
  22. I need a new set of track tires...that's where it would go
  23. i would be interested in this after i get some lessons I have a friend that's been playing a while that may be interested as well.
  24. Ubi or Rob, why doesn't Rolex use ball bearings on the rotor? That seems like a more efficient design to me. Or is it a case of "less moving parts is better"
