  1. Andrew receives a huge amount of email and he is about the most concientious dealer I have dealt with in responding in a timely manner. Keep in mind English is not his native tounge and if his email seemed condecending, I do not believe he meant it as such. As a businessman he is grateful for any and all orders, and when pressed with a specific question about how many watches constitutes a large amount, I am sure he was speaking more from a point of pride in his business. I sell art and I have a client who has purchased over 3 million and some that have purchased 3 hundred. Often I bring up this client as it is a point of pride for me to have such a loyal client. I would not let Andrews comment make you feel slighted as I am sure he did not mean it to be a put down in any way.
  2. Funny how music can transport you back to a specific time in your life, from the way the air felt and smelt to the way you felt at that time. . Beautiful music it is also amd unlike anything else in the world. I heard this song the other day by Keola and Kapono Beamer, whose mom Nona Beamer was a familiar face around the house. Hawaii has many different races in one place and we all make fun of each other. Frank Delima is the master of it, but this song, Mr San Cho Lee, summed it up well... Mr. San Cho Lee Mr San Cho Lee (Mr San Cho Lee), got plenty lychee Got plenty lychee, but he no give to me And he
  3. Glad you like it, kind of an eyeful as it were... BTW...."hanabada" = boogers
  4. Nice pics Lani, I can almost smell the beans!
  5. Poor sad Paul paid waaaay to much for that skanky one legged prostitute, but at least she is gone from his life and he can find another woman. Maybe if he got one with no legs and a flat head he could set his beverage on her noggin while she was standing up and servicing his johnson!
  6. They are both on the way to the Laredo Texas Fertilizer and Crack Pipe Exposition.
  7. George Carlin died tonight after checking into Santa Monica hospital with chest pains. He suffered a fatal heart attack at age 71. Since I was a kid, Carlin made me laugh with his wry social commentary and hilarious routines. He was here in Vgas performing just last week and the last time I saw him was two years ago. There is much to be said about a man who brings tears of laughter to millions. Thanks George for the sideaches from laughing so hard. You will be missed.
  8. Another Yellowstone moment with a roadside bison. The bison in the park stand in the road rather nonchalantly and seem quite calm, however far more people have been gored and killed by bison in Yellowstone than by bears, falling from cliffs, or being boiled alive in the many geysers and hot springs. Still....it is a sight to behold.
  9. The term "swiss' has been loosley tossed around by many dealers, and this has always been somewhat mysterious, because my understanding is that all the rep watches we purchase are replica movements made in China. Some of these Chinese watch movements are decent copies of their swiss made counterparts, but the factories in China importing movements from Switzerland seems a bit of a stretch. It seems this issue has been more clearly defined by our more well versed "experts", and their opinion wouldbe worthwhile to hear again.
  10. Yes, I was kidding, Lederhosen is worn by Germans, however the language of choice in Switzerland is German, so you might as well strap on those leather shorts!
  11. LOL....thats a good one.
  12. This happened to a guy who took apart his Rolex with the incorrect tools. Be careful.
  13. The best advice is to bring plenty of greenbacks because the Euro is murdering the dollar right now. Geneva is a spectacular city, but when I was last there in 96, the watch market did have some really good things to offer, and you can find them all over the city. Town center seemed to be the best group of watch stores congregated in one place. Good luck. Don't forget to wear some lederhosen!
  14. Funny thing, I prefer the blue two tone Rollie sub, and early on it was my favorite watch. For some reason though I never got a Rolex, but if I did, it would be that very watch in blue. Classic design
  15. When it comes to matters of personal taste, there can be no argument. Ones taste in anything does not define them as a person in the least, and however bad you might find someone elses taste to be, it is best to just shut the hell right up and respect that persons right to express themselves as they see fit. Anything less than that is small minded and petty, and most times the person attacking anothers sense of self expression most likely has major issues about themselves and their own fragile insecurities.
  16. Just returned from a quick trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Having traveled the world, this 300 plus sq. miiles in Wyoming and Montana are not to be missed. True natural beauty. BTW, here is the fiddy dwarfed by Teton Peak.
  17. Rolli, you are an inspiration to all Panerai rep collectors. Great job!
  18. Hmmmm....Looks okay to me. .......Although excessive whipping of the skippy can lead to wrist trauma, so cancel those subscriptions to Gent magazine.
  19. Happy Fathers day to all the Dad's of the world! My 18 year old son just graduated from High School, yesterday, and that is a rewarding gift for Dad.
  20. Fine shoes are also one of my obessions for collecting. Bally Cole Haan Mezlan Donald Pliner Ferragamo Gucci Dolce Gabbana I wear a size 14 US and sometimes it is not easy finding the shoe in the size I want, but the past couple years my luck has been good.
  21. If he lied to customs, then maybe custom is lying to him? the watch has not arrived so the box could contain a wad of chewing gum, but if not, then if and when this contentious timepiece does arrive, a look at this 500.00 source of befuddlement would ease the minds of many.
  22. If I saw someone with this watch, my first thought would be that he was looking for the nearest stadium to referee a game. Some of the other Concords are quite elegant though.
  23. It makes good sense that Ban would be the ideal answer to a rse perspiration, but Olde Spice is not so bad either.
