  1. I was doing a google on the Panerai 172 and Rollies post popped up. I did not notice it was a year old until I wrote a reply, but as Scoobs said, it is always good to give a great post a bump!
  2. In 4 months you have done a stellar job of collecting rep watches. I recall when we were comparing notes on the HBB awhile back. Great taste dude!
  3. The Seamaster in gold would be a great rep, the Railmaster can be had now, and so can the Speedmaster, both are beautiful watches.
  4. I liked the look of this watch from the photos and found the Dewitt line of watches selling in the mall where I work. I tried on the gen 'Academia', while wearing my HBB and found it to be light, the band seemed rather cheap, and for $27,500.00 it did not compel me to want to own the rep, in fact I much preferred my rep HBB to this watch. I almost ordered one too, so it is good to try on the gen of any rep you might be considering, before you pull the trigger, IMO.
  5. Still keeping an eagle eye on my 172.
  6. Looks fantastic Sub Z. Congrats, you have a real beauty there. I thought it was just like mine, then noticed that the dial is smooth, not the carbon fiber, yet the look is very clean. I like it!
  7. 172 on a GEF Le Spezia strap and my Frederick Hart sculpture.
  8. Tudor is fine, yet a four door works better if you have a family
  9. The combustion from the below photo is always handy at paint removal.
  10. If it can be proven that strict enforcment of ID cards will eliminate fear, terror, murder and mayhem, then do it. Otherwise forget it.
  11. Congrats to Kenberg on posting 9000 posts where we are not supposed to post anything at all. Remember, to please not post another 9000 posts in this area. Thank you.
  12. What the hoot is going on here?
  13. Thats a bold watch Lanikai. the conservative/outlandish style works well together. Enjoy it, and those photos on a pallete of coloe are great!
  14. Here I am preparing my tasty beverage of the day.
  15. The red barn 127 is met by the blue barn 253. Together they coagulate the formula for X=WO MI. Therein lies the answer Sgt. Shultz. In laymans terms, the DSN fiddy rocks.
  16. My definition of 1:1 is the same, meaning an exact copy,it is not possible to produce watches of exact specifications for the prices most reps are sold. The 1:1 terminolgyis most likely a simple misunderstanding due to language in some part, and as a term of promotion in a larger part. I think that 1:1 should be taken with a grain of salt and that the buyer can assume that the watch is a damn good replica.
  17. In situations like this it can be useful to answer a question with a question. "Is that watch real?" "Are those boobs real?"
  18. Thanks for the link, useful and now stored.
  19. What goes up comes down, albeit sometimes with a splat, but then it climbs back up again, much like life itself..
  20. The watch needs a bath in jewelry cleaner and it would take the tarnish off the gold, which BTW, looks like real tarnished gold, so, although you have stated it is a gen , I would have thought it was as well. It is actually a classic Rolex design and while it may look a bit dated to the majotity here, it is still a beautiful watch
  21. Oh yeah? I now have 1000 posts.
