  1. Thats right, just turn the crown toward you. This seems to help if the watch stops.
  2. Sounds like you need a Lippy Espinda "Special" for supah milage brah. Gas in Vegas is at $3.10 for unleaded, $3.20 for mid super and $3.30 for super. Too much for gasoline and it will get worse. BTW, don't bring any pork over the Pali. It will really mess with your mileage!
  3. This seems to be a an issue with a number of watches from davidsen. My fiddy will still stop now and then, but a gentle slap and a backward winding bring it right back to life. This should not happen and I attribute it to something loose inside the works. At some point, I will service it, but don't want to go through the humbug of international shipping again. You are not alone with this rather annoying problem but fear not, it will fire back up with some cajolling.
  4. You are at least in your forties if you can identify which quotes go to their respective television series. " Sorry abput that Chief" " Hey little buddy, you know when you are bending over to pick up those coconuts, I almost forget about Ginger" "Holy Sphincter Hole Batman, the Riddler and the Joker have just hijcacked a truckload of cockrings" "Colonel Hogan, You have left the Gestapo with no choice but to take away your porno collection for ten days" "Lilly, Uncle Fetser just told me that he wants to do you in the new coffin, but I will have none of it. That coffin is only for Cousin It and Lerch".
  5. Between the two, the seamaster for sure, as it is one of the best looking Omega watches around. The Deville, just does not quite make it as far as the overall design goes, IMHO.
  6. Sometimes when asked a pointed question like that the response might be ' "Well I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you." Some have taken this opportunity to retort, "Really? could you just tell my wife then?"
  7. Hi Golfman, this is gator not croc, but I have found it to be one of the finest exotic straps around for the fiddy, or any watch really. It is the John Woodward exotic leather site based out of San Diego CA. Good stuff.
  8. This, the last photo taken of Mussolini and his mistress kind of squashes the notion that you might see El Duce zipping around the streets of Milan on a Vespa.
  9. I bought a 232 from Trusty and it is a nice watch for sure, however Davidsens seems to be more accurate. The gen is amazing and will probably be the non rep watch I purchase.
  10. Check out Klinks Wacky Wacky World of Watch Repair and Demolition in San Bernadino.
  11. It is not easy for me to grasp anyone buying rep watches with the prospect that they can be sold later and what the market value for them is. I know that many members trade and sell their reps and there is nothing at all wrong with that and it should be encouraged. It takes the customs risk out and many of us have done mods that make the watches far better than when first purchased. When we get into values though, that is something which belong in the gen market. A replica watch is a novelty, a novelty which many of us take seriously and find much enjoyment from collecting these illicit little treasures, but placing fair market values on reps is not really going to happen, nor should it. We all would like to see reps priced as low as possible, and that is the main attraction, as well as what sets the standard for the market.
  12. Thanks Gio, nice gesture. You possess what many strive for and that is class.
  13. Sorry to delude your sensibilities, but to phrase it as gently as possible, what we are calling 'replica' watches are that, however they are still counterfeits of the orginal copyright holders claim. These replica watches sell for mere fractions of what the genuines sell for, hence the allure. This is a great hobby and a lot of fun, but please do not be under any illusions about what is really going on and you will have a much better experience.
  14. When I grew up in Hawaii, there was this character who owned a car dealership near Waikiki and his name was Lippy Espinda. He had a TV commercial that when it was at it's end he would say, "Now rememba, when you drive away from Lippy's place and you see my smiling face with the shaka sign in your rear view mirror, that is your warrantee bruddah" Priceless, and also the answer to the question at hand, however upon receipt if the watch is defective, Andrew will always make it right. A warranty on a counterfeit watch?
  15. She said that to you? How tacky. Next time tell Miss Scrunchy face that you got your moneys worth and that her sales technique could use more polish then your watch.
  16. Not a clients, but one that I am selling in the gallery. It is a female painter of Persian ancestry. She does good eyballs.
  17. Yes Vick, the whole article has photos which are shown in my post, sort of, but the text is all there. A one page story in Time is certainly significant.
  18. It was only a matter of time before Panerai watches became recognized as the important contribution to wrist watch allure that they are. The 11/19/2007 issue of Time Magazine has a nice writeup on one of our favorite watches. Here is the link... http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/...1685662,00.html
  19. Jeff, the last one you posted looks pretty good. Who is the dealer? I know the first one is walmart aka pam111 & a dozen other aka's, The 111 is a classic and a great first choice. Good to see someone doing their homework.
  20. Try to purchase reps with this issue already taken care of and you will not have to go through the extra humbug. There are a few dealers here that offer rep Panerais with the right pin level. Happy hunting dude.
