  1. Happy Birthday, haven't seen you around much. Hope that you are doing well!!
  2. Yes Mine is getting the slow beat conversion. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. I'm curious, isn't this the one that he traded out the movement and replaced it with an ETA 2824? Wonder why? The Seagull ST 2130 is a very good movement, on a par with the ETA's, certainly the lower grade ones. Just wondering? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. I have the same problem with my 6542 GMT, wobbly stem. Mine has and old ETA 2846 movement. Mine was serviced about a year ago, so it shouldn't be a service problem. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  6. Are you on the plane!!! You know the one that disappeared. Keep sending out those signals, help is on the way.
  7. Touche!!! And quite the Lady you will be with those nice watches
  8. Yeh, About all I could say. It must have been late and either I was sleepy, or under the influence of a couple of glasses of Pinot Noir!! It is a nice watch, and I really like mine, of course since this AP addiction hit, I haven't found one that I didn't like, it's just that some are too sporty and some are too large for my old spindly wrists. Got to leave those for you young guys, but I can still admire them just the same. I do like this AP community, everyone has been pretty darn nice and helpful. Got a couple of testy sorts here, but I can be a little on the testy side myself, so I can't get my feelings hurt too much. Feeling a tiny bit less noobish as time goes on.
  9. Very nice. I believe that you will enjoy the FC, it's lighter than the S/S diver, and seems to wear very well. Mine is in the Recovery room after getting a heart transplant, will be back home soon.
  10. Doc, that looks very nice. And as Legend said, welcome to the club. Glad to have you aboard. The ceramic bezel on the diver gives it a completely different look, but I sure like it. Wear it well. And to MOAB, you KNOW you want one!! A nice diver is just what you need. And then another FC Diver, and then a couple of ROO's and brother you are off to the races!!
  11. Hey Big A, you need to look that guy up and show him what some real AP's look like!! seems like he's in your neck of the woods. You can tell him to pick up a bunch of OEM straps, and if he doesn't like them, we'll be glad to take them off his hands for a "Slight" discount.
  12. So you want to purchase and OEM strap to replace the rep strap on your AP?If you have a rep strap on your watch now, the OEM strap should be a direct replacement and fit fine. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Here is a gen insert attached to a gen 16750, compare yours to this one.You need to be really careful when buying and insert, there are some really good aftermarket ones out there, and if someone skillfully ages it, it's hard to tell. I would only buy things like these from well known sellers, well established sellers on VRF, for instance or guys here that know what they have is genuine, and I would be really careful on EBay.
  14. Optical Illusion perhaps? Distortion from crystal?
  15. He is a registered yellow hater !!! Every time he looks at a photo of an AP bumblebee he gets nauseated. If it were Orange, he would have two. At any rate enough ragging on Mr. A, That's a really nice FC diver, and I'm sure you will love it. I have one and it's one of my favorites, really like the light weight compared to the ROO's and even the S/S Diver.
  16. I would agree as well, Eric has been around the forum for a long time, and is a valuable contributing member as well as a really good strapmaker. He also tells a mean story. I wish someone could resurrect his old thread about the Che Guevara Rolex GMT Master. It was so believable, most of us were sure Eric didn't have the watch !! Need to try to find that one. And being from Nicaragua, didn't hurt the story any.
  17. Hey Martin, to join the true blue, dyed in the wool, AP clan, you got to buy the strap first then buy the watch to match!! Never get the watch first, too easy
  18. Hey, Ezio, that looks really nice. You just can't beat a gen Rolex crystal, even a green one!!
  19. Big D, I would keep looking. One that you want will come your way sooner or later. I'm a firm believer in that if you don't like something when it's brand new to you and the "honeymoon" is in full bloom, it's not going to get any better. I just don't believe that watches will "grow on you" maybe they do for some folks but not for me. It's just like clothes, shoes, and just about everything else, if you don't really like it in the store when you try it on, it will definitely be a closet queen until you give it away, sell it or toss it in the Goodwill bin. If you don't like non lughole Explorers, I would definitely wait for one that fits what you want.
  20. Wonderful video, and awesome photos. My hats off to you guys. All of you who put yourself in harms way to keep the rest of us free. thank you all.
  21. Thanks, I have a Black Shark with grey stitching on my V5 AP diver from Donerix. He's been around the forums for a long time, and he does very nice work at very reasonable prices. I sort of wish he would use inserts in the strap ends. Not sure how his will look over the long haul. I have to say, all of yours look great. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Nice to know, thanks. I'm really torn between different makers. A lot of folks love AP Bands, but I saw some bad reviews on the Breitling forum on WUS, and personally, I ordered 2 sets of strap screws from them on March 4th, and didn't hear anything from them until I emailed them on Friday, got a response last night and a tracking number today. Pretty slow for two sets of screws that were supposed to be in stock!! I have a shark diver strap from Donerix, and it's pretty nice, but he doesn't use inserts in his strap ends, so I really don't know how they will hold up over time. I have a HKTan Horn Back on my Safari, it's also nice, but it seems pretty stiff, and it also doesn't have inserts. No experience with any other strap makers thus far. 23. That's a really nice strap. I ordered an Orloff for mine, I toyed with the idea of the Rose Gold stitching, but I ended up getting Black to match the strap. Where did you get your strap? The maker did a great job of getting the stitch color right. I was worried that it might come out more yellowish or Orange than Rose Gold, and that wouldn't do at all, so I chickened out and got Black! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Did I miss the upgrade? LOL. I thought it was supposed to be this past Sunday? Anyway, thanks for all the hard work, bringing this great forum to all of us. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
