  1. Brought out an ol' friend for the day...
  2. The gauges are tilted because the steering wheel blocks the view of the most important parts. For example: I can't see my FWY speeds unless they're tilted. The gauges pop out with one hand so they're easy to turn (takes 2 seconds). It's quite common to see with the older cars. Some people simply get custom gauge dials with offset information printed instead. Cheers
  3. Thanks again Gents for your thumbsups and observations. Some more details: What crystal? You mean there's a crystal on the watch? The double AR by Domi is the most insane I have ever seen. He also modified the tachymetre bezel ring to a matte finish & color like OEM as well as superlumed the orange hands. I'm happy to see some real 911 (air-cooled) enthusiasts around here Great guesses on the 911. It's an upgraded '84 Turbo Widebody with a Ducktail. The lovely steering wheel is a Momo Prototipo. Finished rebuilding the car last year (and it took over a year) from the ground up.
  4. This is the only Heuer I own. I have no interest in any others--especially the post-Tag era. Simple, functional, purposeful. Doesn't get better than this. Plus the Valjoux Flyback mov't is awesome!
  5. i think that you would agree that this is a perfect match! Black & Orange! Thanks to a pal, I just picked up the Lava. I slapped on a genuine Hornback to give it a 'lil love. Looks like it's part of my car. And it's def. an upgrade over the old PVD black & Orange Orfina Porsche Design chronograph. Maybe the Lava isn't your cup 'o tea, but it sure as hell is my kind! Cheers PS. Thanks to the kind gent who owned the watch previously
  6. Thanks for the tip. I should be able to custom mod a hex socket. Looking forward to this watch
  7. Does anybody know off hand what the size of the caseback hex bolts are? I'm trying to find the correct tool. Thnx
  8. Been to both & have bought watches at both places. Excellent boutiques. I also frequent the Westime at the Westside Pavillion in West L.A. (huge showroom). Customer service is terrific at all 3 spots.
  9. Let us know how the lume fares. I've got two V2 divers relumed by Vac and Uwe. They glow like OEM. I'm curious if 3.5 is up to the job.
  10. Looks nice. I went with a black AP Bands hornback. Matches better IMO in case you haven't tried a black strap.
  11. I've got a genuine AP strap on my Grand Prix. You can see pics here in this section if you search for my thread. The strap is worth every penny it costs
  12. Nice! It took me a long time to get mine since they're sold out. Good to hear you got one. I really am enjoying mine
  13. Me too. It's the right age bro! Great pic!! And nice watch
  14. Hi Jeff G! I'm looking forward to your pics and further impressions on this fine rep we all have been waiting for. Cheers
