  1. Mr Sinn has been at it since the 1960s. It's nice to finally see his stuff really get the attention its always deserved. Most stuff of his is indeed made in Germany (I'm sure there's exceptions, as with most things these days). He has been making parts in Germany for other watch companies for 3 decades.
  2. S90 S90 S90 S90 I own the D-Lux 3, D-Lux 4, C-Lux 2, C-Lux 3 and the S90 blows them all out the water. It's the best compact point & shoot out right now. Now if only Sigma would not half-way revamp their quasi-full frame compact... Or better yet, if Leica would really design a full-frame compact point & shoot... Btw, it is very important to note that the protruding lens and the ridiculous lens cap on the Lumix/D-Lux are total deal breakers. The camera is NOT pocketable. It's hard to hold, the very silly pop-up flash needs to be constantly manually popped up (it's not auto up). It is a cool looking camera but it is an ergonomic nightmare. Truly the worst handling camera ever. Take this into consideration. I have 2 custom made leather shoulder cases that a longtime Leica case maker made for me. These cases help a bit with the transport of the Lumix/D-Lux but it is still a pain in the buttocks. I actually find that my Leica Minilux is much quicker to pull out of it's custom shoulder case and snap a 35mm film pic. The optics on theses digital models are fairly poor as well. The folks that rave about them I think are not regular full-frame shooters. Get the S90! It's the best compromise for small sized sensor cameras.
  3. Some more details on this rep: 1. The black print on the dial is clearly visible (like on the U2 rep). It's difficult to capture the print in photos. 2. The bezel ring is somewhat push2turn. The bezel still turns without pushing down, but it's on there pretty tight if you don't push down first. 3. Sadly, the 6 o'clock subdial is still geared for 30 min 4. AR is top notch. 5. My wristsize is 6.80" - 6.85". It wears great. Reminds me a lot of how the all-black Breitling Skyland fits (which is one of the best fitting watches IMO). 6. Pearl looks good in person. The pearl is slightly domed so it appears blurry in pics. It is domed due to luminous material and some sort of enamel top coat over the lume (to protect it I assume). The overall feel of the watch is excellent. The quality in heft, appearance and aesthetic execution is superb. It's a little strange that Sinn chose to put the pushers on the left side of the watch. I say this because the watch pushers/crown don't dig into the wrist if you try on the watch the other way around. They are slightly elevated from the base of the case. Perhaps it is just an ode to previous styling cues on some of their professional models.
  4. My Sinn U1000 PVD arrived today... Gorgeous watch! Here she is on a rainy day (water drops on the crystal show in the pic).
  5. I've got one on its way! I couldn't resist!
  6. It arrived today... It's a nice piece. I'll be getting the EZM6 U1000
  7. ^^^My pants, too. That is sexy as hell!

I'm so glad you picked that one up for a great price! Lovely! Cheers
  9. I just got my lovely Br-03-92 and one lug screw is gone into the wild. Where on earth do I buy a replacement? For the life of me, I cannot find a source anywhere. Cheers
  10. OEM 1675 bezel assembly and crystal retaining system is the same style as 5513, 1680, 1665 etc... No matter what you do, the 1675 case is much thinner than 1680/5513... It is noticeably thinner--this is what makes the GMT-I unique, the way it sits/wears on your wrist. I own both OEM 5513 and 1675, both are totally different in appearance due to case thickness. Cheers
  11. Yes, please post some pics, I'd really like to see what this watch looks like. And I'd like to hear your overall impressions before I pull the trigger on this oddity. Cheers
  12. A very lovely specimen! Did you also get an oyster bracelet along with the watch? Cheers PS. Welcome to the 5513 club! I'll never sell mine!!
  13. Yeah the date window is the only issue.... I think the AP logo is probably hard to notice in person. The way I look at it is that the chances of seeing another EOD in the wild while wearing this rep is slim to none!
  14. Looks nice aside from the incorrect AP logo (as mentioned earlier in this thread). Oh well, what can ya do... This watch is so rare that I guess it really doesn't matter. A velcro and black rubber strap alternative would be nice IMO.
  15. These new reps are lookin' nice--at least they are headin' in the right direction. More time is obviously needed.
  16. I gave up and built my own franken MKXV a couple of years ago using OEM dial, hands, crown.
  17. Answer is yes. You can drop a V23 in, but you cannot drop a V72 due to the height difference bwtn the 2 movements. DW's case parts always seem to need a little sanding or grinding. Nothing seems to be made "exact". Suffice to say, the V23 is will indeed fit just fine though. Cheers
  18. As mentioned above, Alton Brown is thee biggest watch collector. Every episode of Good Eats, for years, features him wearing a different watch. He wears vintage and new watches... Lots of IWC and Omega, among others...
