Some thoughts/impressions regarding the AP T3 beast... Big, bold, well-made, details are superb. The T3 is surprisingly comfortable to wear and it is actually lightweight (it's made of Titanium). If this thing was made out of steel though, it really would be too heavy to wear IMO. Crystal is slightly domed. Numeral markers have perfect metal border surrounds that shimmer in the light. Dial texture is well executed. Pushers do not dig into the wrist at all. As per usual, the rep strap is garbage so the T3 needs an AP Bands genuine croc strap to make it wearable (factor this into the final cost of the watch). My wrist size is 6.85" and it fits fine. Great watch but it is not for the faint of heart!

^^^Funny, my mom's boyfriend has a silver '71 911! Great little car! Another E31 8-Series (not another daily driver like my current 8-series) but this time something very special, a Dinan Twin Turbo 8. Also, I'd like to get an '89 911 3.2 in my garage, too I'll take a Maserati GT-S too; but I think I'd rather have a 550 Maranello over the GT-S. I've also been looking, on & off for many years, for a minty Merc 280SE coupe.

Very nice! The hands are terrific. I just received 2 sets and I am looking forward to installing them on my 009 and 002.

Lovin' this beast--especially with the OEM clasp and bracelet

It took me literally hours to get the bracelet off of my EL V1 when I first got it

I picked up my OEM Omega Ploprof clasp today from my local AD. I have already added a NOS 70s Omega mesh bracelet to my Ploprof, but the rep buckle does not work with the mesh. This issue has been discussed before, so suffice to say, the rep clasp's micro-adjuster pops loose when the clasp is closed. In other words, the rep clasp is garbage! It is poorly made and poorly replicated. In fact, it is not really copied, it's just a sort of approximation as to what the OEM clasp is. The NOS 70s Omega mesh bracelet has the super well-made airplane seatbelt buckle. It works great but it is very thin relative to the new style clasp. So today I swapped out the airplane seatbelt buckle for the contemporary monster clasp... The OEM mesh bracelet must have a couple of rows of mesh links removed in order to be short enough to work with the OEM clasp. My wrist is 6.85" and I cut 1 row of links off of one side of the bracelet, and the other side I cut off 2 rows. For me, this gave the perfect fit. I can adjust the micro-adjuster on the clasp to make the bracelet looser or tighter in a flash. Very convenient! Enjoy the pics. Hopefully they'll give you a good idea as to how the OEM clasp works and how well-suited it is to the watch! Cheers 1970s OEM 'Airplane Seatbelt' Buckle: Contemporary OEM clasp:

Been a lonnng while but I pulled this one out of the safe... I got this one right when it first became available from EL (!!!!) & promptly installed an ETA 7750 + black ETA day/date wheels and then I had Zig relume it.

Happened to me once many years ago... Just green tape but watch contents were inside. No duties, no flags.

Darkness Triumphant! Lightness Beware!

Theo, that is a very interesting comment regarding usage of the Survivor strap on other AP ROO watches. One of my local AP dealers mentioned this to me (he has had folks order Survivor straps for non-Survivor APs in the past) in one of many of our AP conversations. I love going to this dealer as they seem to have a large & steady supply of APs, Pateks, VCs and Breguets to drool over And their prices/customer service are excellent. -
Looks very nice, congrats! Out of curiosity, does any dealer offer a DSSD with a correct matte dial?

Are there any crowns left for sale?

Really friggin' nice!

I've had it for a little while now. I recently have travelled internationally with this particular watch as well. The rubber strap that comes with the watch is nice but rather plain and seemingly uncomplimentary. So I installed an AP bands Hornback which is very similar to the OEM Hornback Survivor strap. The Hornback somehow makes the Survivor seem oddly organic, as if it is some sort of half-robotic half-animate entity. I know that this perhaps sounds odd, but this damn watch is a real oddity! There really is nothing quite like it, and I think that this piece historically represents some sort of new way of approaching watch design. It's a spooky watch akin to something that H.R. Giger would've dreamt about if he had created a wristwatch. The detailing on the watch is superb. Quality control seems to be on-point aside from the usual AP ROO reversed and/or loose nuts that hold down the bezel screws in place. The way the watch fits upon the wrist is astonishingly perfect. It is ergonomic and not overly large in any way. The tentacle-like pusher guards do not dig into the wrist at all. Overall, this watch is NOT for everyone. It remains contraversial in many ways. An interesting thing to note though is that the Survivor is not just another PVD/DLC black watch--it's on some other threshold that I can't seem to define and/or place. Suffice to say, it's uncharted territory (for better or worse, only time will tell). IMO it does not belong on the rubber strap, it needs the Hornback to bring it to 'life' (it appears that most owners of the OEM Survivor are wearing theirs with the Hornback strap that comes with the watch instead of the rubber option). Seeing one in person will alter ones' opinions regarding the strap rubber or leather choice issue. I do think that if AP makes a similar watch in the future without the pusher guards, they would have yet another extraordinary hit on their hands. Cheers -
That's true but I ain't gonna lug around a Large Format rig wherever I go! I don't even have a large format kit, lol. i guess those Lens Baby contraptions probably work the same way, with adjustable bellows. Kinda cool I suppose. In any event, I dig your pics. Cheers

Nice Bokeh I'm a big fan of short depth of field lenses. My personal favorite that I own is the Canon 85mm 1.2L--it's hard to use, but nothing else looks like it aside from a Noctilux.

Here are 2 of my Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore watches that I bought off of Darth Vader. Perhaps you folks didn't know, he is an avid watch collector with quite an extraordinary wristwatch collection.

Is it too late to join the list for this beautiful dial? Cheers -
Wow, there are some lovely vintage Rolex watches in this thread. Maybe I'll fire up my late 60s 5513 for tomorrow! ----------------------------------- The OEM mesh Omega bracelet was meant for the watch. I've got a new Ploprof buckle clasp coming from Omega to update the 70s NOS 'airplane seat' buckle that came with the mesh band. This watch is really something. I'm looking forward to slappin' in an AR'd replacement fully sapphire crystal when they become available. This watch is a beast!
