  1. I prefer genuine to rep. No doubt about it. Reps are for play, they serve a function (to serve as a model for the real deal). It's like tryin' on a pair of shoes. If you like 'em, you buy the real deal. 9 times outta 10, most "shoes" are overpriced clodhoppers that ain't worth shelling out for. Thanks to reps, you don't need to pay inflated prices for a 'safe-queen'. It's also a great way to stick to Richemont Group and LVMH. Anyhow, nothing beats the real deal.
  2. I can't wait for mine to arrive!
  3. HKTan Custom Pilot Strap with deployment buckle for me...
  4. Wow, the MBW has a gasket? Weird. As se
  5. And another gratuitious shot of the venerable 3717.
  6. The man asked for a MK XV rep... Here you go!
  7. I believe that the inconsistent usage of parts allows for some interesting gems for the serious collector. It is also quite frustrating in certain instances, since legitimacy can be seemingly questioned. As time goes on, there are more and more oddball Rolex with odd parts from other references and/or time periods with a given reference number. It's really fun stuff. I like my '67 1675 with the seemingly incorrect small GMT hand. I have grandpa to thank for never servicing the watch until he gave it to me many years ago. The proof is in the pudding - paying attention to the details is what this sport is all about. Best regards!
  8. All in all, it's a very nice wath out of the box. Mer
  9. Screw all this waiting, I'm going out and buying a Breguet La Tradition today
  10. On most of my genuine vintage Rolexes, the datewheels have imperfections due to age. As a general rule of thumb for me, I only replace those DWs that no longer are supported in silver finish. Enjoy the imperfections, it is these unique faults that makes us human.
  11. Nice to read about your 'test drive'. I agree with you in regards to the flatter OEM T21 being the best. This is the only later-style flatter OEM Rolex crystal that I prefer over original domed versions. BTW, nice watch The black lizard combo is exquisite! And extraordinarily unique and ohhh sooo fitting! Mr. Newman would be proud! Cheers
  12. I saw K-Fed's wrist, and all's I can say is that he was on the phone. Perhaps it was the rain, or sensory overload. Eitherway, I understood why it was capable of relieving the agonizing frequency of delivery.
  13. I am trying not to buy one. Might be weak though. Been fighting this off for sooo long. Might give in.
  14. Same here. I HATE shaving. Yes, I yelled!
  15. Wow. If anybody dares to make some moves like that here in L.A., they'd get pounced on soooo fast!
  16. I'm still waiting, but I admit that I've made some purchases in between that I promised myself that I wouldn't do
  17. Personally, I like the idea. I'm 80% vintage anyhow.
  18. Purging is the only way to go. Move on up. Reps are reps in the end. Genuine watches (depending on what) are extraordinary.
  19. I think I'm going to get one. Not sure which model yet.
