  1. You really need to have the inner diameter and the outer diameter measurements to be for sure.
  2. +1 to what these guys said. Toro is a good guy, but Chinese New Year celebrations last for probably another week. Then the shippers will have to catch up to all of the orders that have pilled up over the holiday.
  3. Craze - if you login and scroll down there is a listing of the dealers that are approved by this forum. Each of these dealers has a section in their forum for feedback and comments. I too have had issues with Putetime and communication so I didn't use them for my last purchase. I used Torobravo and had excellent communication and good turnaround. Choose whom you are comfortable with after reading the reviews and buy a rep, wait for it to arrive, smile when it arrives and repeat as often as needed! Pretty much any of them can get you any watch you would want.
  4. If you don't like the TC insert, get a different insert and use the pearl from the TC. If you want to spend the $$$ for a rolex insert go for it. Most of the other parts are very gen like. But yes they are interchangeable with gen. The reason you are not getting that much response is this is been discussed many times before, also these subs are VERY gen like on the wrist.
  5. A few people are pleasantly pleased with the TC insert, the pearl is quite nice from what I hear. Honestly the sky is the limit, or your wallet, these builds can have as much or as little gen parts as you want.
  6. Last time I checked here is no cure for addiction, treatments yes but no cure. We can't even cure cancer.... Bottom line there are those that "use" drugs, most of those are not able to stop without intervention (detox, rehab, etc) of those there are some that even after rehab continue to get pulled back into the drugs/alcohol/gambling etc. It's these that are the true addicts, people that likely have a neurotransmitter (NT) imbalance in their brain such that they function better with the drugs. The drugs either stimulate deficient NT in their brain or depress their brains response to the excess NT in their brain. It is thought that most of the true addicts are simply undiagnosed bipolar or some other organic brain disease patients. If identified and given treatment for their underlying disease the symptom of "addiction" disappears. These people are self medicating in an attempt to right the chemical (NT) imbalance in their brains. And then there are the people that simply put addiction is their underlying disease, usually see this in people with gambling or sex addictions. They have an imbalance in their reward system (dopamine), same with some over eaters. Until the social stigma is tampered these people will not seek help and even then science will need to develop proper treatment to help these people. Is it sad that he died and left behind a partner and three children, yes. Do you also yell and scream when a diabetic dies and leaves a family behind? Or a hypertensive patient strokes and dies leaving a family?
  7. Good actor. It's sad that society won't help the many people with addiction.
  8. Some bezels I remove only using my mallet and a utility razor blade... If I'm lucky there is no blood involved! You can look thru BK's section as I know he has posted several mod threads over there, for instance in his sales thread for the c-sub he shows his step by step on how he removes the bezel and insert using a bezel remover. For EXP or 16610 bezels he uses a mallet and a utility razor blade... I've only removed Rolex bezels so I don't know how the seiko is constructed. There are many threads where someone tells their woes of getting the bezel of only to discover that they've ruined it and can't get it back on.... Check some of the Seiko forums, should be some threads on how to do some of the mods since plenty of the guys mod their Seiko's.
  9. Sul - if you break it down the cheaper movements last much longer then the pricey movements. Put in perspective of $/years of use bet you'd see that a $30 Miyota would way out perform a Rolex. Heck, try out the $30 6497/8 clones, they'll probably be used by the cockroaches to tell time when everyone else is dead and gone. I figure that a unserviced Miyota would last 20-30 years, that's about $1/yr but I bet you'd be lucky to get 10-15 out of an unserviced 3135 before it croaked on you.
  10. Even the best of reps will get called out if you post pictures, when they are it's usually because the guys calling them out are from the Rep forums and know the tells way better than any Gen watch guy ever will. Especially stupid to post using the same forum name, dead giveaway.
  11. I thought the red was stronger hold than the blue, either way should use very small amount so that when you need to remove again in the future you won't strip the screw head.
  12. TBH, they look like standard out of the box reps. They look good, just nothing extra to make the members stop and comment. To get much of a response you'd have to have done some mods to a rep or have a pic of the latest and greatest that everyone wanted but couldn't get because it sold out...
  13. Not those 12th man wannabes... The true 12th Man - Texas A&M. I'm thinking of taking the GMT hand and painting it maroon, rubbing/polishing off the orange Explorer text on the dial, painting the bezel numbers maroon and finish it off with a coat of matte clear coat on the dial. Latter I might remove the CGs and put on a 7mm crown.
  14. ooh, I have a canal street (literately bought it on canal street) Daytona. I'll dig it out and take some pics later.
  15. Some have he same case, dial, hands etc. some don't. If it comes from the same maker it is more likely that the two versions share the same components. This is of course for the Swiss ETA vs Asian ETA. The 21j is likely not thus share the exact same dial and hands as they have different specs. They might have been made by the same dial maker but might not. There are usual noticeable differences between the cheapie (21j) and the more expensive (eta clone and Swiss).
  16. Honestly guys, as I do still have the watch issuing a refund is way easier and a lot less stressful for both me and the buyer. If he's not happy there's all sorts of headaches that could pop up and I don't want anything to happen, I like this place and want to stick around a while so I want to keep my name free from tarnish. I've not mentioned his name for the same reason, he should have kicked the tires and looked under the hood before funding a purchase but he didn't so moving on. He has had a change of heart and is now interested in me sending him the watch, but A refund is the easiest thing for me now. It's the rep game, there are no certainties other than there are no certainties. I'm probably just going to keep the watch and do some serious mods and turn it into a fantasy watch with my team colors and wear during games to show my support.
  17. Doesn't seem to be working for me, but then again I'm not that tech savy... Maybe I can try searching it out on YouTube.
  18. +1 sell it and buy an insert for a 16610, shouldn't be hard to do and with little to no money loss.
  19. So I'd be willing to bet that if Mike cracked open that case back we'd see the movement pictured in the post at RWI. For the price there's no way they'd be throwing in a rare ETA 36,000 bph movement from the 70's.
  20. True, but I'll just remember to not use IE when I'm on the desktop. Cheaper and easier, for me at least.
  21. Don't think so, think the 2838 is 21,600. Mike?
  22. 2838 is a cheaper Asian movement, a clone of a Miyota iirc.
  23. Fair enough so I humored him (and for the sake if this thread) took some pics of the rotor. Not exactly high quality but should be able to tell that there is not a sticker. After I get the funds in my account I am going to refund the money, I just don't want someone saying I tried to sell a clone as a Swiss and gyp some guy for a few extra bucks. I like this place and don't want to have a tarnished reputation.
  24. When I click play it says the video is not available in my country. If it's a good video can somebody repost this on another server or something?
