  1. +1 or even a 177n. Get what ever you want, I think it's silly to say you have to get a certain model as your first Pam. My first Pam was a 360, then a 243 then a 177. They're all great watches and I love finding/making straps for each of them. That's the fun of Pams, all the straps you find yourself thinking about!
  2. If your after a 16610 TC is the go to source for the best you can get at the moment. If your after a 116610 then BK is your man. They are both CONUS and are the to to guys for great subs. TC has a long turnaround and he has conditions buyers must meet before he will deal with them, BK does not have as long of a turnaround but usually builds the watch when you order it.
  3. Can always buy a second watch of the rep that you deem a keeper, for nothing else it'll serve as a donor for spare parts when the first one breaks. Otherwise put up a WTB ad and see what you get...
  4. Freddy beat me to it. Basically figure out what your after, read thru the Tag forum, read thru the dealer reviews and most importantly understand to choose the seller then choose the watch! If your asking for opinions the Tag Aquaracer 500M is a nice rep.
  5. Well I think they are long selves that are pushed up. And obviously it's because she's hot!
  6. I like that second one, I could see myself being tempted by that Seiko..... Got a model number?
  7. Now that's some great advice, did not realize they sold such things. They even look like screws once in place. Thanks!
  8. Which dealers did you try? Likely you could also check out the sales forum here or the other boards they show up regularly if a dealer can't get you one.
  9. Oh Mike, your not going to be using the slide rule feature? Looks like you could do all sorts of odd conversions with that bezel. Now, if it would convert EU bananas to US dollars I can finally figure out how much that rep is on the sales forum......
  10. First thought - dang she's smoking hot! Second thought - what the heck kind of rifle is that on her shoulder? Third thought - wait, she's wearing a watch?
  11. Mike - what happened to the ML? My only issue with Seiko is they don't use sapphire, I've scratched the heck out of those mineral crystals before.
  12. Well, if for whatever reason the two fine upstanding members above fall thru I can help.
  13. Thanks guys for the input, I have a Getat 177 sterile homage that the lug hole threads are crossed threaded. Tat said to send it back but I wasn't sure that I'd get a good resolution plus I'd have to wait several months. Just trying to weigh my options as I already have the movement, dial and hands. Might just call is a loss and move on.
  14. And? Contact him here or go and find him on RG, PM should still reach the same email.
  15. I was able to get a separate PayPal with a separate credit card. Drives my wife crazy! But I think those days are limited as she is wanting to be on the credit card account so she can "see the balance". Since she is in charge of the bills each month it'll likely have to happen to keep the peace!
  16. Mike, with as many watches that you have, how would she know? And congrats, a new watch is always exciting!
  17. Does anyone have any experience with this guy's cases? I am mostly interested in a decent case that I can use to build a sterile Pam. http://m.ebay.com/itm/191063097554
  18. Here is Vac's profile: http://www.rwgforum.net/user/184-vaccum/
  19. Think that it would look out of place for you to be sporting a $10,000 watch given your previous statement? In other words story of two guys both wearing a watch with "Rolex" on the dial. 1 - guy is wearing a nice suit, tie, drives a nice car, lives in a nice neighborhood and works in a respected professional type job (lawyer, physician, banker etc) 2 - guy is wearing average outfit, rides his bike to work because he can't afford a car or even the bus for that matter, lives in an apartment with three roommates and works in the mail room. Which would you believe had a gen rolex vs the rep? You can get a decent quality rep that will probably last several years or longer for about $3-500 but if you don't want people to wonder if it's a rep make sure you fit the picture. Otherwise for the same price you can probably get a "gen" for about the same price. Likely a Steinhart or similar, great quality for about the price of a rep.
  20. Reps might be ok for you if you can accept the fact that they will lack that last little bit that separates them from the gen. Both in looks and fit/finish. Some of the various makers will get a rep that is maybe not perfect in the looks like gen but have a good fit/finish and some others will have it the other way around. If you can handle the roll of the dice on the rep ge then you'll be ok with reps.
  21. They look nice, clean lines with very nice round case. They are an advertiser over on WUS so every time I login they're ad is up top.
  22. Mike, if your interested there is a date version at 41-2mm that can be found for <$3000. Found a white dial on Chrono24 for $2500...
  23. Well there you have it, Matt is the resident expert on DJ so go with his word.
