  1. That 39mm version....is that 39mm including the crown or not including it?? The more I see them, the more I'm beginning to like the looks of them.
  2. I noticed that as well...but wasn't going to comment because I too have a personal preferrence for the Flat 4 insert. To me it just seems to offer a bit more "character" if you will.
  3. From the pics the mag looks good to me but the date font looks a bit bold. Not alot but that's how I see it.
  4. Awesome...but you "do" know you basically got a "steal" on that yes...? Pointed 4 or Flat 4 ??
  5. Great looking Sub and a great/informative review. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad to see someone that agrees with me regarding using the gen crystal. To me, a rep/aftermarket crystal, even without the overly visable LEC and a seemingly exact cyclop mag just doesn't look and feel as right as the gen crystal does. Wear it with pride brother.
  6. Stares in utter awe....NICE !! And congradulations on such an awesome GMT. Beautiful.
  7. You have a valid point here, Brother. But having a couple gen pieces is one thing. Having the balls and knowledge to disassemble them, mic and swap parts and then reassemble....if he's new to the field he's a fast learner and has much courage or alot of money. Take that bezel puller for example...those aren't cheap. But none of this is really important. I'm just anxious to see a completed watch delivered and see where this new development takes us.
  8. BK: Thanks for shedding some light on the use of the 2678 mvt. I asked if it'll fit a gen with correct crown height, will the 2678 mounted in it offer the same gen crown height. The answer was yes......and I left it at that.
  9. Thanks guys. It's the 16710 I'm shooting for. While the vintage pieces are awesome and I love to look at them, the acrylic domed, tophat type (very thick looking) crystal doesn't fit my personal taste. I could almost be certain I've seen a gen 16710 (possibly in transitional era) with Swiss T 25 dial with chapter ringed markers, sapphire crystal and lug holes, but maybe not. And I believe you're right "J"..the only rep GMT II I'm aware of that'll take a gen crystal is the discontinued Noob. (The Noob Exp.II takes everyting gen but the mvt and case back.) I've been waiting (and hoping) to hear if the latest Cartel version Exp.II has the crystal ring size capable of doing the GMT II conversion. Nope, it's not. But that case would need work anyway...it's a bit wider than the bezel...especially at the 2 and 4 o'clock position...the bezel should protrude out past the case..it doesn't. (Not so say that with some case shaving/shaping it could be made to look awesome...too much is sometimes better than not enough.)
  10. Being a Rollie..of course I got anxious when seeing the TC Submariner posted for the first time.( and his first build was "not" this case...I believe it to have been a TW) BUT...as stated on RWI...I was among the first to PM him regarding one of the 5 he had to build...and almost sent payment...the rehaut engraving stopped that from happening. Since then, and after 3 or 4 PM's...I've heard nothing back from him since....so I stopped attemting to contact him. Obviously he's very busy and I doubt he expected the scale of interest this has certainly generated....but then again, maybe he did. Either way, things are happening...but poor communication at any stage of the process isn't a plus sign for me. Anxious to see a fully assembled watch. Should be intersting, to say the least. But let 'em come and we're grateful that they will. If they can be had, BK can get them...and I for one am more than happy to wait as long as that takes. (ummm, so hurry up BK, huh??). In the meantime....the Franken BK TW 16610 is being worn, enjoyed and admired,
  11. +1 on that, Brother. Congrats grifter...that's friggin Awesome !!!
  12. Beeautiful pieces, Brother. Wear them with pride.
  13. Congrats on bringing the TC 16610 public "debut". Gotta say...it looks great. How deep would you say that rehaut engraving is?? Not too deep to remove without possibly affecting setting the dial or crystal ??
  14. Awesome accomplishment and a beautiful piece. It's Threads like this that make this Forum and hobby so enjoyable. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Have you tried ofrei ? http://www.ofrei.com/index.html In the search box enter "Omega 2500 Hands"
  16. I have the same bracelet "twice" myself. The Bracelet "is" a Noob Bracelet...but the case isn't. ( ashame the Noob bracelet on the GMT II isn't as tight as it is on the 16610's) And I'm betting a TW Bracelet would "tighten" up the SEL fit quite alot. If I go for a GMT II, it'll be the one Angus has...providing the QC pics match that of the site listing.
  17. Looking forward to seeing the first of the "highly praised legend of a Sub". Just a side note...nobody "found" the WM9 case...because it never disappeared in the first place.
  18. An appraisal/review of the TC Sub by the owner of one should prove to be very interesting. Please do share when it arrives.
  19. Awesome looking GMT Star. Any idea if this case would be a good one to to base a 16710/16750 build on?? (with sapphire crystal)
  20. Great looking GMT. Regarding that 1675 Yuki case...any idea whether or not it'll take a sapphire crystal and work for a 16750/16710 build ??
  21. To be honost the one from Angus looks better than the retro from Josh to me. The retro appears to be a bit on the wokky side...though the lug holes are a nice touch. Better SEL fit and correct numbers on the Bracelet from Angus too.
