  1. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-vintage-1665-Double-Red-Sea-Dweller-dial-/120870716966?pt=UK_Jewellery_Watches_WatchAccessories_SpareParts_SM&hash=item1c2474c626
  2. It's all on you Brother. But 3k plus on a franken of a gen that can be had for about 1k more wouldn't work for me.
  3. Really good but as BK said, appearantly too small for a gen insert to fit without a bit of modding. Fidhle007 built a Super Franken using the sean case. I wonder if he had to do the same filing of the insert OD if it's a variation in the bezel........?
  4. Well, a gen 3135 sorta takes the cost up too high I think. But from what I've read and heard (and will see for myself in a couple weeks) the pbdad SL'd dial in the TW is a bit better that the TC dial. Now, a SA3135 with gen dial/hands along with your other gen goodies may make for an awesome looking Sub. And maybe drill the spring bar holes in the clasp buckle out to fit a gen clasp spring bar..that is if the TC clasp is as acurrate looking as they seem to be. (rep clasp buckle holes are much smaller than the gen buckle holes.)
  5. Can always count on BK for the facts. Thanks for the info...and cool signature.
  6. You're going to love it. And you're also going to notice a slightly shorter crystal height. Gen crystal is 1.8 and the TW is 2.0 and I noticed a difference the moment I dropped in a gen. It'll be consistant with a gen 16610 where crystal height is concerned but it'll sit a bit lower than the TW crystal did.
  7. Well said...and you're right. The 3035 replaced the 1570 around 1977-'78 or so. The 3135 replaced the 3035 about 10 years laters...this piece would have came with the 3135.
  8. Well...I overlooked the case engravings of 16610...sorry. The case looks gen to me..the mvt. does too. Case back...maybe aftermarket...maybe not. But they did make the 16610 with that dial and DW, along with the holed A series case...around 1999-ish. If you're certain about the dial, hands, bezel and all, I'd say it's quite possible you have a gen 16610 A series from 1999. Approx. value...without papers/box...ballpark....3800.00 +
  9. Umm...gee..duh...the case is engraved 16610...my bad.
  10. I think they're overpriced replicas and you're not likely to receive what you're paying for (if anything at all) if you send them your money. I still can't figure out why anyone wanting a replica watch would go anywhere but the Trusted Dealers listed on the Forums. OR from other members in the members Sales Threads. Why take the chance ??
  11. Swiss dial with drilled lug holes......? Possibly a transitional 16800...that would explain the 3035 and the open 6 and 9 DW. Wrong clasp for the bracelet. Can't really tell rehaut depth but the earlier 16800's have a noticably shallower rehaut than the 16610. If this is being sold as a gen I'd approach with caution and a few questions. And I agree...if that's a rep case (and I don't beieve it is) I'd sure like to know where it originated because that 3035 fits it as it should.
  12. Use the search feature Brother. And look around before making a final decision. Ther's years of reviews on anything you're looking for here..... if you look for it.
  13. I've owned the BK DSSD....get with BK, order it...and enjoy. As for pics and reviews, use the search button. Welcome to the forum.
  14. Looks like the majority of them go for the Submariner and Daytona. WTF....should I stop wearing the Sub as much....seems women love to "wear" them too
  15. "".............also it's more convincing IMHO if you use a gen service 25-295c with the side ways S which means its a service crystal................."" Now where have I heard that before?? I agree...as the "service" crystal is what you'll get from a RSC if they change it out during a service.
  16. +1 A very nice looking rep for the price. Well done.
  17. It can easily be replicated. Just too many variations...as we continue to see. Consistancy would have nailed it decades ago. (actually it has, we just don't see them often here if the Rep Forum World)
  18. Great write up and comparison. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Great information. Thanks for sharing/pinning. This also brings to mind a question regarding tubes for the 6mm crown (24-603-0) I used the 24-5320 tube on a Noob Exp.II:( it screwed right into the case like it was machined for it) to install the 24-603 crown. But I've read of the 24-5330 being used in the Noob case as well. Does anyone hapen to know the difference between tubes 24-5330 and 24-5320...both for the 6mm crown.??
  20. Love the looks of that Tudor MC in your sig.....NICE !!!
  21. Looking good ZK!! Drop a gen crystal and insert in that beauty and go pimpin' it Brother.
  22. Pry the bezel back off giving special care and attention to that little click spring at 12 position. If it falls out, no biggie but don't lose it. Now pull the flat tension washer off too. There's a hole in the crystal retaining ring for the spring....put it back in that hole and be certain the spring is in the guide line (groove) that's in the crystal ring too. Put the flat tension washer back on, startting at 12 position...(it needs to remain under that little click spring.) Then what I do is place the bezel ring on, also starting at 12 position with the pearl at about 1 or 2 position. I pull downward on the bezel while turning it CCW...to be certain I'm feeling the spring clicking on the bezel teeth. When I rotate CCW and the pearl reaches 12, I use my thumb and press down at 6 position...you'll feel it snap on. Test your CCW roration now...it should be back to normal....unless the insert isn't properly snapped onto the bezel ring. It seems the gen insert can be stubborn going into the TC bezel...it may not be seated properly. Don't give up Brother....you're ::this:: close to having a real winner. You didn't say you've snapped the gen insert as in.....folded it in half...as in Broke it ??.
