Wow...that's a great price. On which model ?? I've been reading some rather impressive things regarding that 36,000 vph mvt. THAT'S got to be a "very" smooth sweep.

I've always been a big Exp.II fan. And the newer, larger Explorer looks great. QUESTION: regarding the lume....would it be possible (and would it look natural) to have the dial numbers 3, 6 and 9 SL'd too. I think that would really "torch up" that beautiful dial a bit...if it could be done in a way whereas the lumed numbers would match the color of the markers in the daytime. Perhaps a custom job by pbdad...leaving the same width of metal surrounds around the lumed numbers as is around the markers..........??....just a thought. But then again I've always been tempted to have the engraved numbers and markers on an Exp.II bezel SL'd too...if it could be done to look black and natural in the daytime.

I'd have to say I regret parting with.... BK WM9 V2 (x2) BK GMT II Transformer BK Noob Exp.II (x2)...BUT managed to land another one and get it up to Franken specs...currently my favorite. I'D PAY TOP DOLLAR FOR A DISCONTINUED NOOB OR BK TRANSFORMER GMT II

The cheaper version using the 2813 cannot be modded with gen parts. I agree with much of what has been mentioned....be sure the watch is a "favorite" and a keeper before going Franken with it. You've already got alot of time, money and pride invested. I say change the dial for a "new look" and keep it. The PO's are indeed the best/easiest to Franken....swap out dials and enjoy it.

If you're after the most acurrate looking sub enough to ask "who offers it" do yourself a favor (and save yourself some time and money in the long haul) and get the BK TW. While there may be other "decent" subs costing less, the little tells will eventually begin to bother you...and you'll take a slight loss selling them to buy something better. Start with the BK TW and as the sub grows on you, spring for the gen parts as you're able to...and be content from start to finish....just my opinion. Have fun and enjoy.

And I too miss the Transformer. I Should have held on to that one.

Patiently awaits the release of a clone 3186 (or 3185), CHS, capable of gen dial/hands and fitting a gen case.

This is true.

It's the ICHS...the GMT hand is on the bottom...(notice the low clearance of the GMT pointer above the marker.) But it may be safe to say that if this is difficult to notice in a picture then it'd be even more difficult when one the wrist.

I just looked at them on the site....sneed is right (of course) CG's do look a bit chunky.

It doesn't look too bad to me. I'd definately got with the Black dial though. And I'd be curious to see a side shot pic showing the height and slope of the bezel. But I see the "Rolex" on the dial looks to be the better "4 sec." width. Many dials I've seen other than the Noob's have the "Rolex" that's much too tall and "6 secs." wide. They look decent until you set them beside a Noob or a gen.

It would take some skill but you could always get the more reliable ICHS mvt and switch the hour and GMT hands in the stack by clipping the end and glue them switched around....just a thought. You'd gain the CHS you're after but still have to accept the date working off the GMT hand. IMO it's pretty diffivcult to notice the hand stack without a really close look...but if you plan to take it off your wrist and hand it to someone (who knows the difference) you may as well just spring for a gen...or take your chances with the CHS mvt version.

IMO you should stay away from the CHS mvts.........you could always spring for a 2893...which is a gen. GMT mvt...though you'll still have to live with the ICHS. And keep in mind that with the CHS, the date works off the GMT hand...which isn't cool if you actually "need" the GMT function.....imo

I can sort of believe the stem may be a tad too long...and is somehow working it's way back out against maybe the tension of the mainspring or somehow the rotor rotation is helping to cause this (too long would have it in the winding position all the time)....but it's been my experince with a stem being that much too long it would jam up the mvt. and quit working within a few minutes tops. This is interesting and I'm looking forward to hearing the definate cause of this issue............................................

That would have been my quess.... the tube unscrewing from the case rather than the crown unscrewing from the tube. Though that doesn't explain it doing that on it's own

A cheap way to a dial...and extra parts. They offer the eta version in this too...so I'm guessing it would fit into yours............ .............no guarantees though.
