I have been eyeing a 16800 Comex after seeing one on one the vintage forums. There's this 1000ft dial without COSC cert that looks fantastic. Can anyone shed light? No thread jacking I promise
Tudor for me today. Finished this one a month or so back but just got the urge to wear it today. Tudor sub+cyclops coolness. The case has been roughened and the overall profile slimmed down to make the CGs less "chunky" and the CGs made less stubby.

IMHO, a gen tube and crown are just like finishing touches and a personal thing. The BK tube and crown(latest version) as well as the TC ones are pretty darn good and are capable of keeping everything water tight for most conditions. The Gen tube and crown I put in my case are there because I wanted it so for my own personal well being(slight case of OCD)

I actually saw a gen one in St Maarten last week and kinda liked the simple dial and overall feel of the watch. The weight is pretty much up to par with the Sub-C. The factory just needs to get the dial correct and should be a popular seller.

Almost there Red. Yours has been inspiration from day one. Has anyone note discrepancies on insert outer diameter from gen suppliers? Maybe that's an issue we have not seen until recently?
You will need the 93160 clasp. I drilled out the clasp to accept the gen clasp springbars and that coupled with the gen diver's extension is good enough for me.
Was smoking about two cigars a day this whole past week. Macanudos, cifuentes, Dominican Delicias, Arturo fuente. Formados and churchills mostly except for the 'nudos, those were coronas.
Just got back to the states. Unfortunately I have to take new pictures of the setup as my wife got the gopro in the water by accident. The startime case WILL work with an Asian or gen 2836-2 and the raffles time movement ring for the 2836. There are no numbers for them but I'll measure.
I used the startime crystal ring holder and the Clark's bezel. No issues there tighter fit of the bezel. The gen insert fell out while I was using it around the house.
