That happens when someone uses scissors to open the case back. A good four sanding / polish should take care of that. If you want to sell it or trade for a 5514 let me know. . Looks great!

I'm still working on mine and Duke's. I'm ok with partial lume on an early matte dial. The line currently on the dials is bright for a good five minutes or less after sun exposure and visible for another hour or so. I did the hands to match. The lume inspiration came from Ubi's 1665. Where it's white but just tarnished enough. The lume that came with the dials was very good as a visual point of reference.

You could use the DW ends with the gen bracelet. What you need are the ends to tie it all up. I recently purchased a gen bracelet as a puzzle set(read all links apart) and will use the DW end links with it. Good luck. Akira, you still in NY?

It is completely removable. This is how you "lock" the crystal to the case and ensure a good seal. I don't have a gen bezel to try, but from the looks of it, gen fits the case kits from DW. E

I'm going to modify the hands and use a combination of Yuki hands and DW hands as pointed out by M. May age them a bit, but nothing drastic. This will be my daily watch for sure. Has the bulk and size and can handle daily wear. The other watches will then get serviced correctly and this way I can complete the builds correctly. The dial will be aged slightly as well and the markers will just get the crema treatment. As it stands, I have the dial by the window in a little greenhouse so get the weathered look started. ---Update-- Dial was baked with the hands. The hands were modified a bit and the minute hand has shortened to get it close to gen length. I have a Yuki set on the way, but I like the way they turned out. With the baking the sweep hand looks really good. E

He is not replying my emails either concerning the mystery movement(yes, I am feeling a bit adventurous) The driving gears seem completely different than the other DW a7750 movements that I have as spare parts sources. I even tried to swap the top plate entirely, only to find that there minute counter driving gear is pressed against a peg built into the main plate and again, nothing to drive it. If anyone else found a work around for this let me know. If not, I will put it all back together and sell them. E

So I have the same movement from David and it seems that if I remove the date wheel and driving mechanism and just keep the top plate nothing will drive the minute counter. Am I missing something? E

That is exactly the same movement I got from DW. Were you able to have your watchmisth remove the Date wheel carrier ok M? I'm working on installing the movement this weekend and will perform the same mod to this movement. E
