  1. Funny I have a PBDAD modded DSSD and a regular blue BK sub-c, I wear the blue a lot more that the DSSD. Somehow it seems a little unbalanced to me. The only thing is the Blue sub-c is > $15 used DSSD > $7000 used So which one has the biggest tell ?
  2. I recently got approved for high dollar sales. My experience is that they didnt rubber stamp me. The actually put me thru a vetting process. Which took time on both of our parts. But I felt they was protection the membership. When someone is in a rush to sale/flip/trade a watch It always make me take pause as to what is the hurry. Of course I'm of the minority about this hobby. Watch collection is a luxury. You should use your disposable income to play. If you NEED to sale something quickly, well you need to rethink your hobby.
  3. Great watch, But not for that price in that condition. Also what does its diving days are over mean ?
  4. What movement do you have in it ?
  5. Someone actually took this newbies advice in a product. wow
  6. I would use polywatch or Autosol
  7. Yea, I kinda see their point. Next time I pull out the gear I'll take some pics. But I going cave diving this weekend.... Which watch should I wear ?
  8. Yeah, I dive with vintage gear often. I usually get questions and how things work. Back when I first trained we focused more on skills than technology. @Nanuq If I lived in your neck of the woods. I would be worried about a frozen... everything including a frozen hartdoc.
  9. Ok here is the set-up. My wife is getting her certification in scuba. I went with her on her open-water check off. Since I think they can only go down 20-30 feet, I decided to go and have fun. Here is what happen First they asked me where was my computer. I told her I have a Omega Seamaster SM300 (watch-co), thats my computer. The divemaster said everyone needs a computer to dive. I said Im not a student and I'll be ok. The risk is my Ive already signed the waiver. Next I pulled out my vintage scuba gear. 1) Oval mask -sport divers ~ 1965 2) US diver Aquamaster 2 hoses 1 stage regulator ~ 1967 3)Parkway rubber shortie - A [censored] to put on ~ 1970 4) Just rigging to the tank - no backplate / wing/ or bcd 5) No weights 6) Spearman duck fins - 1950 Ok, here what went down. They said I shouldnt have brought out of date gear on a openwater check out dive (I'm not diving with them me and another diver is doing our on thing)and I should just buy their gear for >$1000 or I may not be able to dive. I told them all my gear is very well maintain and a lot of people like to dive vintage especially a hose system. They said I was a bad example for new divers. Since I didnt have 1) inflation device / BCD 2) no computer - a vintage isnt a computer 3) no weights 4) vintage equipment especially at two hose system What do you guys think. I posting this here vs a scubaboard because this is one of my homes.
  10. Thats why I try to steer away from any conus deals if possible
  11. I was going to put this B&R on the culling block. It had a the rubber strap to it. She ordered a strap from panatime brushed it with extra virgin olive oil. We put it in the sun for a few hours and this what the watch looks like now.
  12. I had a gen, wasnt my type but the bezel was awesome.
  13. I think the cyclops brings attention to the non traditional placement of the date window. Which in my opinion is what makes the 500m truly shines. But I also love your tag jkay
  14. I have a gen and your looks very good. But I think I would miss the cyclops. its one of my fav thing about the 500m
  15. U1 makes and excellent gen rubber strap I have them both in white and black.
  16. thats look scary close to gen
  17. The are some really good reps of the U1.
  18. I think it's called a seven eleven or something like that
  19. My wife uses evo ( extra virgin olive oil) on here bags ( reps and gen) then stuff the with towels and leave them in the sun for a day.
